  1. Different eras and technology. McDavid is probably faster, but if they were compared relative to their competition, I wouldn't be surprised if Bure was faster.
  2. He's #1 at this point in my books. On the topic of Myers, I read an article today from PITB about how the Myers-Edler pairing have some of the strongest advanced stats in the league right now.
  3. Turns out Binnington thinks he should've won the Calder and is still salty about it.

should have won nobel prize in literature too (for fiction)

the nobel for literature is already a funny enough joke

Canucks fans gets salty about Boeser not winning the Calder because he didn’t play a full season but never give credit to Barzal.

Statistically, Binnington had a way better second half than Pettersson. 10th in Hart voting, and 5th in Vezina voting. Of course, he should think he should have won the Calder.

  4. I'd still prefer a throwback to the 90s jerseys at least.
  5. Kinda gross. Why can't teams stick to designs akin to their older jerseys instead of trying to make something new and cool?
  6. Glad to see Marky get back on his game. He had two pretty rough games there, but his last two have been back on form.
  7. I'm one of many who called for Leivo to be scratched early on, but he has 8 points in 15 games. Time to start realizing that he's putting up pretty decent numbers. We'll see if he keeps it up.
  8. Possibly, but I think he would've had to really book it to get there in time. Schenn wasn't skating that fast. Had Marky gone for it, you can bet he would've put on the jets and beat him to it. Plus, even if Marky gets to it, he has to hammer it down past three Blues with very little time to prep his clear/pass. There's a case to be made for it, but I think it would've been very risky either way. In retrospect, probably still the safer move than taking a 3 on 0, but a hard-to-read situation that happens pretty uncommonly, so I don't blame him for not making that move. Not to mention he was burned on a rush to the puck in our last OT, so I can understand his hesitancy.
  9. Leivo looked very good to me tonight, so I can understand it in this situation. That said, I would agree that Virtanen also played very well.
  10. Glad we got a point. Irritated at Myers for taking out our own guy. Marky had a very low chance of stopping a 3-0. Life goes on. We kept it close with one of the best teams.
  11. Dang, this team continues to surprise me. So often when I think we're dead in the water, we pull through.
  12. I think you're underestimating what a loss Tanev would be if we traded him. I'm not against trading him, but only if we get a great return. Moving him simply to make room for younger players is a mistake IMO. Let them prove they're capable of filling his spot on the roster before gifting them free spots.
  13. Roussel was trying out for the team in the pre-season, but didn't make the big club, so he didn't play any regular season games.
  14. Sounds like they probably keep him out of this one game and he might get back into the next one.
  15. Freak accident really. He was just turning around and looked like he bent his ankle funny. If I were to guess, I'd say it's probably at worst a sprained ankle and will keep him out a week or two at most. Probably 3 or 4 missed games is my guess. Course I could be wrong, but that's just what I think based on what I saw.
  16. Hughes is definitely better, but Edler has an offensive mind for playmaking that none of our d-men other than Hughes have. His passes are often seeing-eye on the PP and his wrist shots can be really accurate somtimes, leading to great tip-in opportunities for teammates. I think the big reason Eddie is being attacked for his PP play is two-fold: 1. He constantly employs the drop pass despite it's mild success. Brown may be more to blame for this than Edler. 2. He's not as good as Hughes. Keep in mind that Hughes is not your average PP d-man. He moves the puck around far better than most and it's unfair to compare Edler to him as the "average" PP defenseman. Edler is fine on the PP, Hughes is amazing. The contrast makes Edler look worse than he is.
