  1. I think you definitely can, but the degree of your fandom may not be as intense if you spread it out among multiple teams. Shannon (TheHockeyGuy) on YouTube is a noted big fan of the Canucks, Bruins, and the Stars (in that order, interestingly enough). Personally, I've had second favourite teams, but I care about them maybe 5% as much as the Canucks, so it's not really fair to say I'm a fan of them.
  2. Hilariously enough, my plans fell through and I wasn't at the game, haha.
  3. Not sure what Edler you were watching, but Edler was fantastic on the PP. Put up tons of points. Hughes looks great too, but Edler was not a problem on the PP.
  4. Dirty hit for sure. As others have mentioned, similar hits have gone unpunished, but I guess the repeat offender status hurt Lowry here.
  5. If we do buy, I don't think we buy big. Most likely just a small extra piece. Also, I don't think we need to buy as it is right now. If we buy, it's because we're in the playoff race and have some serious injuries that might make us fall out of the race. All in all, I'd rather avoid buying right now just to scrape into the playoffs and lose. I'd rather let the chips fall where they may. If we were closer to Cup contention, I'd be more down, but not as I expect it to be right now.
  6. To be fair, he dominated with Detroit. He's only succeeded in the regular season with Toronto thus far.
  7. Leivo is just a discount Baertschi to me. He does everything Baertschi does, but slightly worse. Don't get me wrong, he's not actually playing badly this year, but I still feel that Baertschi could be doing even more.
  8. Not gonna lie, I kind of hate the nickname "Huggy", but I guess his teammates have spoken and so shall it be.
  9. Hmm you have something there perhaps, but I'm skeptical that added benefits of more interest in the NHL from women would match the cost of funding the league. I suppose it's something that would require more analysis and digging that is likely beyond the scope of us here on CDC.
  10. The AHL and NHL are heavily complementary products. AHL players very often feed directly into the NHL and helps the NHL be a better league. There's about a 0.000001% chance any woman would make it to the NHL if they were even crazy enough to use the same sort of system as the AHL. Even if the AHL on it's own would lose more money than a women's league, it still provides unseen additional revenues to the NHL via the complementary nature of the two leagues.
  11. It'd be neat if the NHL would have a partnership with the NWHL to promote it, but professional hockey is an entertainment business and will only be as successful as the number of paying customers it attracts, which seems to be quite low, so I suspect it would simply bleed money for the NHL, so I doubt they'd be interested.
  12. I had a dream last night that the Canucks had a too many men penalty and for some reason we had Daniel Sedin taking the penalty in the box for us. He was laughing about it in the box for some reason.

      you sound like MLK.

  13. That's fair, but there are a few things that suggest otherwise: 1. Rubik's English is far superior to that of most scammers 2. These kinds of surveys are very common in University projects (I had to conduct a few myself) 3. Rubik has a fairly long history of being a regular, sensible CDC poster
  14. Done! Some advice: I noticed a few questions where the list of options weren't exhaustive. For instance, on the final question, there wasn't really an answer for those who've never used Gillete before and still won't.
  15. 3-2 Panthers. I'm going to this one and I'm pretty sure the Canucks are 0-5-1 in games I've been to.
  16. Exciting OT. Hopefully Marky can regain his game for shootout. At least he was solid to end the game for the last several minutes.
