  1. "Associate". Nice, they actually got it right, haha. EDIT: Wait...Alternate?
  2. Technically second season for Hughes, but I'm a stickler.
  3. He's really not that bad, despite his age. This is a steal imo.
  4. Yeah that's at least 3rd line level. With the Lightning he looked like a 2nd line guy. Solid middle six.
  5. Namestnikov is a solid middle six forward from what I can tell. Seems like a pretty hard lose by the Rangers unless they really need the cap room.
  6. All-time? Probably Beliveau. For the Canucks, Linden.
  7. Cheers...you've got me there. I guess Detroit has such a storied history that the standard is higher for them.
  8. Stacking all the offense on one line. Worth a shot.
  9. Joe Sakic, Peter Forsberg, Ray Bourque, and Patrick Roy. Not saying Foote didn't play his part, but you can't honestly compare the Avs of those days to the mid 2000s Senators.
  10. This has to be Benning doing Biega a favour. We lose this deal badly imo. Thankfully, it's not a hugely consequential deal. I still maintain that Biega was probably the better #7 option over Fantenberg.
  11. I challenge you to find any player who played for a single organization for 17 years who doesn't have their jersey number retired. Phillips earned this fair and square with a long-hard working career. No jokes here. ...Melnyk these days though...there might be something there.
  12. Definitely deserved. He was never a star, but if you play 17 seasons for one NHL team, you'll be honoured in some way.
  13. I agree with @snipes2539 here. Eriksson was and might still be the better player over Lucic. That in addition to the fact that his contract is less terrible makes him have much less negative value. The biggest issue by far is the necessity to protect him, though unless I'm mistaken, Calgary got around that somehow didn't they?
  14. Have a good one, Sven. Counting on you to prove the team wrong in Utica.
  15. Give me 12 Angry Men instead. As @luckylager mentioned, Shawshank Redemption is very good too.
  16. 45 points would obviously pro-rate to 90 points if we're using the 41-game mark. Most of the time 90 points is too low to get into the playoffs. The safer bet is 93-95 points as the bottom wildcard teams. If we're at 45 points, we'd at least be looking at a significant improvement probably, but we'd need to be even better probably to make the playoffs.
  17. I definitely agree that one game is enough to determine that his decision was a bad one.
