  1. I agree, I'd love it if they signed really cheap deals (like $1M or so), but with contracts that enabled them to make up to something like $5M if they perform extremely well.
  2. I'm not sure we need Jokinen for that role. We already have other stable forwards vets like Eriksson and Sutter who can fill that role IMO.
  3. I'm fine with shutting him down at 29 this season if it enables him to score 40 next year.
  4. Can we give props to both Edler and Sutter who stood up for Guddy after the nut shot? Warms my heart to see Eddy stand up for his teammate that way.

    Ben Hutton | #27 | D

He's 24 years old and while 2.8M is too much for him at the moment, I doubt he would pass through without someone taking a chance on him.
  6. Reminds me of Edler somewhat. Set many records, but not highly respected.
  7. Henrik has a five-game point streak. Now if he could just get that third goal...
  8. Are you psychic or something? He needs 9 more goals now and at his current goal-per-game rate, it won't be long...
  9. Congrats Edler! 326 points now, setting a new record. Good for him. Drafted and developed all in Vancouver.
  10. Record-tying point. He still needs one more to pass Ohlund.
  11. Interesting to hear 1:09 of the video. I wonder if Archie has some sort of mentor relationship with Goldy from their Utica days?
  12. Yeah, that would probably make a pretty vast difference.
  13. The same PP time and Ozone starts as who?
  14. For sure. I have to assume it'll happen either as soon as he retires or as part of the 50th year celebration.
  15. I'm curious, how much do people think Eriksson is worth based on his current play? I'd say his supplementary offense and strong defense puts him at about $3.5M - $4M. Last year, I would've put him closer to $2M probably.
  16. A valid point, though Sven has yet to score at a 50+ point rate for a season. At this point, he's more like a 45-point guy. Still, if the twins leave and Vanek doesn't return, you're probably right in that we will have a severe dearth of offensive firepower unless Pettersson or someone else really steps up. We're already weak in net and on defense, so a lack of offense might just push us to the very bottom of the league. It's almost safer to hold on to Sven until we're certain his offense can be replaced by Pettersson, Goldobin, or someone else.
  17. Agree, though trading Goldy would be a bit of a gamble that he won't continue to improve. He's doing a smidge better this year than last year, so he may yet make the transition to the big leagues.
  18. I'm satisfied with my response. Cautious skepticism.
  19. Sucks that he's out. He provides more than I think people give him credit for. He's improved a fair bit over the player he was last year.
  20. I swear my schooling is making me lose my mind. It's stressful beyond belief and is taking it's toll for sure.

Perhaps look into cutting down a class next semester if you’re taking too many? I’m not sure if you can do that in your program but that might be a good option to relieve some stress. Taking a little longer for school isn’t a bad thing

@ken kaniff I wish I could. I did that for university and was glad I did, but I'm only taking the standard of one module right now. A single module is the least I can do, so I can't take any less course work.

  21. If he's actually this good, this will be the robbery of the past decade assuming Holm doesn't turn out.
  22. Leipsic with Bo and Brock is nuts. It'll be exciting to see. I honestly don't expect too much, but Horvat seems to be a master at making players around him better, so maybe he will succeed with them.
  23. I had actually forgotten to check on this. Crazy! I hope he gets a heck of an ovation when he makes it. He gets more hate than he deserves IMO.
  24. Not sure Jake needs any more weight. He's not the 229 lbs he once was, but I suspect he's still around 207 (based on many sites) - 215 lbs, which I think is plenty for a 6'1" guy who's supposed to be speedy.
