That’s really amazing!  You’re at 100,000 posts!  I wonder how much it’s going to take me to join the 100,000 post club?  I’m hoping for next spring.

I remember my 10,000th apple fritter at Tim Hos..staff were in tears.

  2. Ehhh, Burns had a 15-goal season when he was 22 years old, so his offensive potential was known. There's almost no chance Gudbranson ever tops 30 points unless the league continues to get more and more offensive. I do believe that he'll get better defensively with more experience, but I don't think we'll ever see a breakout of offense.
  3. You clearly aren't very aware of what Messier did to this team.
  4. You have it backwards. Jake didn't play better necessarily because he had more ice time and better linemates, he was given better linemates and more ice time because he played better. It's Green's way of doing things.
  5. Maybe it would be a good idea to freeze the top row so the headings still remain?
  6. I think Stecher will last a while in the league because he has a bit of Biega-like mindset. He's a workhorse in the corners and battles ferociously. At 5'10", he knows he has to.
  7. I'd agree. He was solid on the PK.
  8. Canucks are 0-5-1 in games I've been to. Maybe I should stay home more?

  9. I'd argue that Tanev and Edler are our only top pairing-level defensemen. Guddy is a #4 at best IMO and the rest are bottom pairing at this point (though I think Stecher is close to a #4 too).
  10. We have an excess of bottom pairing/7th/8th defensemen. We have very few good defensemen, something that Tanev is.
  11. I'm not very high on Boucher, but 2 goals is nothing to shake a stick at. A good game from him for sure.
  12. Great night for Jake. Was all over the ice tonight and broke his career best in points.
  13. Yeah, so he is fairly buyout-proof.
  14. Only a bit. He's making $8M now and that drops to $4M for his last two years.
  15. I expect Gudbranson to improve a bit as he hits his late 20s in the coming years, but I think he's probably at about 90% of his ceiling right now. I don't think he's gonna grow a whole lot more.
  16. I run laughing if we get just a 2nd, nevermind those additions. Don't even consider a new contract with that kind of offer.
  17. Thank you for responding graciously, as I got a bit more riled up than usual. I agree that he's not playing up to his contract cost, but I like to look on the bright side of things and see that he's at least doing a bit better.
  18. I think it would be disingenuous to say that Baertsch is still a 1.85M dollar player. At his current production rate, I think most fans would have him at $4-$4.5M. Also, I never said he was worth $6M. Geez, it seems absolutely impossible to say anything about Eriksson without fans clinging to their anger about the $6M number. It's a bad deal, everyone acknowledges that. That aside, he's been better this year, which for some reason, no one wants to acknowledge through their blind hatred.
  19. The more I look at his stats, the more it seems to me that Eriksson's year is being undersold. His points-per-game is only just a little behind Baertschi, with whom most have few issues. Still not great, but if he improves even more next year, things will look brighter.
  20. It's an interesting discussion. Edler is a far more versatile defenseman than Tanev, so he can be played in all sorts of situations, but Tanev is used more more heavily just for defense, limited his possible use. Does the versatility that Edler has put him above Tanev despite Tanev's more reliable and strong defensive game? Perhaps it does.
  21. I would say that the signing at the time wasn't as bad as it's now made out to be--even though most fans didn't expect 30 goals, a good number did with the twins and even those who didn't expected at least 20. It was the term and the clauses that really put this one over the edge. Even at the time, I think lowering it to four years would've been a more even deal. Obviously in retrospect, a lot more would have to be changed to make the deal even.
  22. I'm not sure I'd go that far, but the way he's been playing, he is making a case for it again. He's at least a good #3 guy right now and he's pushing closer and closer towards a #2 guy with his play IMO. On our team, he's clearly our second best defenseman behind Tanev. This year he's got one less point than last year despite playing in 26 less games. His points-per-game hasn't been this high since 2012-13, and even then, he's very close to that same level.
  23. My projections have him on pace for 39.9 goals at his current rate (not even kidding).
