  1. I would agree that Petey was very good in our 2020 playoffs, but so was Miller. Petey lost his top line minutes early in the year because he underperformed. Petey himself is humble enough that he would tell you the same thing. Is it so hard to admit that a non-Swede might be better than a Swede?
  2. Watching a highlight reel also made me think of Garland, but a bit bigger. We'll see how his agility can stand up in the NHL.
  3. The 2016 Sharks had Thornton and Marleau, both of whom will be first ballot guys. Burns and Pavelski will probably both have a decent shot at making it, though they may be stretches. To your point though, Marleau was still good, but not in his prime and although Thornton was also good, he was starting to get past his prime as well. It is admittedly hard to find a team with so much talent that didn't win.
  4. All three are deserving. The twins were wizards on the ice and definitely changed the game, even if only a little. What puts them over the top is their impact on the hockey community. Luongo is in a list of some of the greatest goaltenders of all-time, so he's a no-brainer, just for his on-ice play.
  5. As of right now, I'd say Miller is better, but I think Petey can get better and might be there as soon as next year. I'm in the camp that every player needs to prove it before being given that role though. Give him a chance to prove himself and if he succeeds, then give him the job.
  6. To your point about OEL vs Hughes, I would have Hughes on PP1, but not because he's younger with more development to come, but because he's far better.
  7. Very happy about these three. Stevens seemed pretty good last year and Dries is a great sniper to have in Abby.
  8. Who's to say our core won't be ready in a year or two? It's not like everyone has to wait until they're 28 to reach their peak. It's not entirely unfeasible that Petey could score 90+ points next year, Hughes could be a top 10 Norris finisher, and Demko could be a Vezina finalist. I think with a team like that as well as Miller, we would be in the fight for the best in the Pacific. I think some folks underestimate how quickly things can change.
  9. I think Horvat was probably a step ahead offensively, as he did it in fewer games (68 games vs 79 games) and league scoring was also lower back when Horvat did it in 2014-15. Regardless, I do think Podz has about the same offensive potential as Bo and we could see him become a 50-60 point guy with 70-point potential.
  10. My thoughts exactly. Congrats Johnson on the "promotion".
  11. Yeah, I would definitely seek a professional opinion before choosing any medication. I'm generally averse to medication unless it's really necessary anyway, so it's not likely I'd do something like that.
  12. Interesting. Like @Salacious Crumb, I think I may have minor OCD, but I haven't had it diagnosed or anything though. I have no experience with anything remotely hallucinogenic though, so it would be pretty far outside my comfort zone. I'm of the sort that was raised in an "absolutely no drugs, smoking, etc." and I don't even drink, but I suppose maybe if I were to think of it in a more medicinal sense than recreational sense, it might seem less intimidating to me.
  13. Never heard of it. What is microdosing?
  14. I would have picked Josi to win the Ted Lindsay, but after thinking more about it, I do think he should have won the Hart and quite possibly the Norris as well. What a snub show.
  15. Demko finished 7th in Vezina voting this year. Pretty excited for this guy to get better and better. He can become good enough to be a finalist someday soon.
  16. Looks like Schenn received three third place votes for the Masterton (one being from IMac). Well deserved!
  17. Petey finished 14th in Byng voting. Nice comeback after such a terrible start to the year. If he can play like he did for the last 50 games the entire year, he'll get a lot more consideration than that next year.
  18. Miller got one 5th place vote in Hart voting this year so finished 14th. He was also 7th in All-Star team voting for centres, which is dang impressive. He also got a tiny bit of Selke attention, finishing 23rd in voting for that.
  19. For his killer season, Hughes finished 11th in All-Star Team voting and 13th in Norris voting. The highest he's finished in Norris voting so far and tied with Edler for the highest a Canuck has finished since 2011-12. Ehrhoff finished 8th in 2010-11 and Jovanovski has the Canuck record at 6th (twice) for Hughes to try to beat.
  20. I will be salty if Vancouver makes the same mistake they did with Stecher and lets Motte sign in FA for super cheap somewhere else. If he's willing to sign for anything less than $2M, I think you do what you can to make it work IMO.
  21. Honestly, if he's down to play in Abby if he doesn't make the team, I'd be down for a league minimum deal. He's probably a top 6 forward at the AHL level.
