Yup, agreed guys; I'm all for building around centers, defense and goalies (not like Boeser or Garland are Mark Stone/ P. Kane/ Kucherov/ Panarin or Rantanen/ Landeskog types; if they were I'd prioritize them more but it's likely easier to shift C's to the wing than vice versa).

And even if its in 4 years, they'd rather have 700 mil in their pockets in 4 years vs nothing. Clearly, nothing is moving AZ, because its been a clusterf*ck for a decade or more. I have no issue with our D not scoring a ton of points as long as they aren't liabilities in their own zone.  We don't want a Rielly or a Barrie who cost the team games due to their defensive incompetence.

I can see is numbers get stronger. After Arizona and his new role here it feels like he’s primarily been focused on defence. Like a correction. Offence will come eventually. I think we’ll get a few 30-35 point season outta the guy and if he’s great in his own end I think we’ll be alright 

I was conversely not expecting him to be as good defensively as he has been.

Future Considerations. 

No one interesting and they’ll likely trade Boeser further for futures.  Dumba is not the kind of D Vancouver needs.

They really don’t have the cap space to take Boeser.  It has to be cash in/cash out but even then it won’t work beyond now as they already have to clear cap for next season.  They have players who are clearly unavailable like EriksonEk, Kaprizov, Foligno, Hartman etc who are such a key part to their success on and off the ice.

Their buyouts for Parise/Suter increase by 8M next season to reach 13M and they will still have another 2 seasons at 15M.  

They are in a competitive rebuild (to borrow the expression from Poile) and are probably going to try and trade a player like Fiala for picks/prospects.  Greenway possibly too.

Just because Kariya and Sakic were from North Van and Burnaby, doesn't mean they wanted to play here. 

Stamkos was offered the moon to play for Toronto, but decided to stay in Tampa. 

Unless the Wild are offering a 1st rounder in 2022, and 2nd in 2023, Lambos, and Rossi, I don't see it.

Agree that he's done excellent work up to now. But, free agency opens tomorrow and that's when his brains tend to go away for a few days. I just hope the signings he makes are short term, low dollar deals.
