It's not wasting their money if it's an excuse not to pay their employees a living wage. -

I feel personally attacked. -
I love homemade bean burgers. Especially with avocado and red pepper aioli.

Have you tried Very Good Butchers? Their veggie bangers are amazing!

The onus should be on the Americans to educate themselves then. Maybe they can learn something instead of projecting their own racism onto SFU.
-
Why are First Nations people allowed to rap or play in rock bands? That's cultural appropriation is it not? They should stick to banging drums with sticks. And wear nothing but animal skins. Seriously. I am sick of the PC and cancel culture and Antifa and all the others. They are taking society down a dark dark path of self-censorship, a nightmare combination of 1984 and Brave New World. Forcing the SFU Clansmen to change their name was an absolute disgrace. I mean, it's great that pejorative words like n-gg-r and f-gg-t are no longer acceptable and racist POS are getting called out publicly. But these self-appointed SJWs are nothing more than tools of the Elite to control society and public discourse. Just my 2 cents. Oh, the mask is ok. Not great, but not bad.

Good on you. Hope you keep it up.

Not trying to pick on you in particular aGent, but I do wonder about people who make comments like that seem to belittle pretty much all conspiracy "theories". Have you heard the story of when General Smedley Butler testified that a cabal of high powered and well connected capitalists wanted to overthrow Roosevelt and install a facist government. The media mocked his claims, but today we know the conspiracy was real. Some conspiracies, no matter how outlandish they may seem, are in fact real, and Society would do well to remember that.

I am actually a little baffled why this has become a human rights issue. It's a public health care crisis. No more, no less.
-
It's not necessarily helping them seize more power, it's that it can be considered a test run to see just how much freedoms a particular society will give up in exchange for safety. Not saying that's the case, but again, it should be considered a possibility, And, as much as I think individual rights are more important than group rights, I still am pro-mask. Because as you say, it really is such a small ask.

No worries DrJockitch. No offense taken by your questions. So to try and explain a bit better, I consider myself a conspiracy factualist. It's not so much I believe every conspiracy out there, it's that I have read a lot of history and have seen (not personally) the absolute evil that governments throughout the world historically have committed. Something like 200 million people died by democide (killed by government) in the 20th century alone. In Canada we saw the attempted genocide of First Nations people, the mass incarceration of Japanese-Canadians, the forced sterilization of "undesirables", and police brutality committed against peaceful protesters. So, while I'm not entirely convinced Covid is some plan to reduce population numbers and strengthen the Elite's control, I cannot rule out that possibility. It is the bankers and CEOs of multinational corporations that really control what we are told is democracy, not voters. I feel this is evident by the huge power that lobby groups wield and how often, and easily, politicians slide into private companies after their time in office is served, often after passing legislation beneficial to said company. I have read a lot of David Icke's work, and find his idea of the reptilians secretly controlling everything possible, if not very plausible. Only a fool dismisses an idea because it doesn't confirm his/her worldview. Anyway, hope that answers your question.

I actually won't and can't vote. Like others I wonder if Covid wasn't created to bankrupt the world, allow the Elite to seize more powers, etc. And I do tend to believe individual rights are more important than group rights. But Covid does seem to be a real thing, and if masks might actually help save lives then I think it isn't that big a deal to wear one. Yes this could all be a test to see how willing a nation's citizens are to give up their rights, but it probably isn't. So I guess I am pro-mask and I can vote with a clear conscience. It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. – Aristotle

Do all these anti-maskers also get angry they cannot yell "FIRE" in a crowded movie theatre?
-
No, he's an idiot for jeopardizing his revenue streams, actual and potential, and for supporting a message he should have known the Canucks org wouldn't agree with.
-
Well, he does call him self Dumb Nuck, so there is that.

Hey Mark Donnelly, enjoy singing O Canada at that anti-mask rally. Don't forget to pick up your pink slip from Roger's Arena on your way there. Idiot. Seriously, very happy the Aquilini's were right on top of this. Donelly's actions send a dangerous message to young Canuck's fans. So kudos.

Save the DH rig for the Whistler bike park, honestly. I spent 9 years pushing 40+lb bikes uphill. It sucked. I am way faster descending those same trails on my 28lb enduro bike, hit more jumps (smallish jumps admittedly because I suck) and just have way more fun because the bike is so much lighter, nimbler and more playful than any of my DH bikes ever were. My 180mm travel slays the bike park as well. But even on a 160-170mm bike you're going to have hella fun wherever you ride.

I started on a crappy hardtail in my early 20s (I'm 48 now) at the Delta Watershed when it was fun to ride there. But pretty soon I fell head over heels in love with snowboarding and I didn't get back into riding until my neighbour sold me his 2005 Scott Nitrous 42lb freeride bike. He took me on Snakes and Ladders at Woodlot. This was about 12 years ago and I've been riding ever since, splitting my time between Woodlot and Burke (funnily enough they are equidistant from my house). I rode downhill bikes for far too many years. Then about 4 years ago I bought my first enduro bike, and first brand new bike ever. A 2016 YT Capra AL Comp 1. Man that bike sure changed how I rode. Made me a better and more confident rider. Three years ago I upgraded to my current bike, a 2016 YT Capra CF Pro, which is lightning fast (on descents, not ascents lol) and can crush any terrain. I LOVE that bike so fricking much. Along the way I bought a used Trek Remedy 9.8 but it's 140mm of travel was not suited to how I ride. My Capra, at 180mm travel front and back is basically a mini DH bike. And unless I can afford an E-bike at some point, this is likely to be my last bike.

[Report] Johnny Boychuk announces retirement

The Rome hit was literally 1 second too late. The League said as much as the time. The Boychuk "hit" wasn't even a hockey play. -

F#ck that guy. Hope he breaks his back cleaning his gutters or something. -
I don't get this constant need to crap on Virtanen, especially in a Hoglander thread. Do we need to bash Jake to make Hogs or Podz look better?
