  1. Given that so many of the media pundits, including Button, were saying it was the players who sucked and not the coach while 90% of the fans knew it was Green, I hope no one on here ever dares to suggest these people know more than the common fan.
  2. Really? Is Petey on the bench scrolling through CDC between shifts? Fans criticizing Petey on a message board isn't going to affect his play. And if it does, he better find a new profession. Sure if people in-game started booing him whenever he touched the puck that would definitely wreck his confidence, but that ain't happening.
  3. I'm hoping Green gets a coaching gig in our division very very soon. Can you imagine these guys feasting on a Green-coached team 8 times a year?!

    1. Odd.

The media I think have been too nice with Green. Filling him with all sorts of praise. Travis as a person is probably a really nice guy. And that's great.

But with AV, I could see his defensive first type system.

Torts seemed to just overplay the Twins.

WD there was structure, but no adaptability.

Green seemed to be AV lite. But without the defensive structure.

What's best for Green is to be an assistant coach for a coach like Trotz. Learn to get better.

And maybe think outside the box once in a while.

  4. Well what do I know then. Go figure. That's still not Hirsch's only bad take though for sure.
  5. I lost a lot of respect for him the bubble year when the Canucks had all the calls go against them in this 1 game and Hirsch said it was because they weren't a good enough team and that when they improved they would start getting the calls go their way. Does he really think that's how the NHL operates? If so, how do you explain the 2011 Cup finals?
  6. I hope we get to see those smiles on the players' faces for many more years.
  7. Well Bruce is an actual NHL calibre coach. We saw it last night and how he was able to get this team to play like a team. Green couldn't do that. Besides it's not likely Bruce will be here long enough for that to happen.
  8. What a freaking utter relief! Great TEAM game, and when was the last time we said that and meant it?
  9. Benning was honest and hard-working but he made too many blunders. Looking forward to the new chapter in Canucks' history.
  10. Which is on Benning and his constant overpaying for... is it character? Intangibles? Or foundational players?
  11. No I don't expect him to quit. However, there are posters on here saying they feel bad for Green. All I'm saying is that if he's having such a hard time coping with things that he could quit, if he so chooses. Benning isn't the only one who can end Green's nightmare.
  12. He could do the honourable thing and quit. Why feel bad for him?
  13. My 2 cents is that Aquilini told Benning not to make any moves because Aqua wants to fire him and have the new GM hire his (or her) own coach. That's why it's all quiet on the Western front. Fingers crossed that's the plan. Of course assuming that there is a plan.
  14. Because if he's a Canuck, he's one of us. Management notwithstanding.
  15. I think you have that backwards. The new GM should hire his own coach. I mean do the Aquilinis really want to potentially be paying for 2 coaches not to coach for us? Unless said coach is just signed for the remainder of this season.
  16. Fire everyone not named Sedin and Clarke first. Hire an experienced PoHO and GM. Bring in an experienced coaching staff. Then see how the team performs under a new coach. If it's the same old $&!#e we've been subjected to for the past 5 years, THEN start the rebuild. But imo that wouldn't be necessary. I think an NHL calibre coach can get this team to play like an actual team.
