Taken 22nd Overall by the Vancouver Canucks in 2009, Schroeder has been looked upon as one of the top prospects in the Canucks organization alongside fellow prospect Cody Hodgson. Skating around at a diminutive 5'9" tall, the speedy winger was born and raised in Minnesota, and played NCAA hockey there as well. In the Class room: While hockey may be his primary source of income, Jordan Schroeder had transfered from Brigham Young University (BYU) to the University of Minnesota in 2008, majoring in Business and marketing education. While he falls far from the stereotypical athlete, Schroeder graduated high school with high honours from his high school, Ann Arbor Pioneer High School in Michigan. World Stage: On of the greatest junior players in American History, Schroeder passed Jeremy Roenick for the highest career point total for an American in the World Junior Hockey Championship (26). Winning the gold medal has proved to be one of his highest accomplishments in his young career, however, Schroeder is not content with just winning at the Junior stage. At a media conference after his first AHL game, Schroeder stated that he does not care for individual awards, as his ultimate goal is to lift the Stanley Cup over his head.
