I think next offseason if realistically when the Canucks can start going for a Stanley Cup, contracts coming off the books and another year for the young core to get seasoned, bring in a little support and make 1 or 2 big playoff runs and just get the job done, give yourself atleast 2 cup final appearances with this core

Racist history is still history. No doubt these figures shouldn't be celebrated, but pretending they didn't represent the Canadian identity as contemporaries doesn't serve anyone's interest IMO. It is important to recognize, acknowledge, and learn from the atrocities of the past without denying that their perpetrators are massive figures in our history.
An interesting quandary: We have Sir John A, a despicable figure, on our money. In Mongolia, Genghis Khan is on theirs. Is that OK because enough time has passed between the Great Khan's genocides and the modern day, or should his figure be abolished as well?
