  1. ..Greener wanted Baer to drop the gloves with Ferland to show his team spirit... kidding of course , but Baer earned a spot over several guys as far as I am concerned!
  2. ...and who did Gaudette show the most chemistry with... Baer...by far...! If we lose him it will come back to bite us in the arse...!
  3. I am a Valley Palley...Comox that is... Lots of us islanders around here...!
  4. ...Ya...but players grow and Baertschi looks nothing like he did previous years...last year was a write off and this year he has shown way more than ever before in just a few preseason games... He deserves a chance to play with players and like others have said a 3rd line of him and Gaudette and Sutter on the other wing makes a lot of sense.
  5. Gaudette auditioning in Brock's spot...as a winger...for all you people saying he would never play there...
  6. Sam Gagner is ripping it up for the Oilers too..... ....it must be us...
  7. More from the Hockey News...now they claim we have 4 waiver exempt players who are locks to make the team... I assume they mean Hughes and Demko and maybe Gaudette could be considered a lock, without looking at the big picture, but who is the 4th? ....must be Gadj.,....(goofy happy face emoji).... Here is an excerpt; VANCOUVER CANUCKS The salary cap isn’t the issue in Vancouver. No, it’s the size of the roster. At present, the Canucks have 22 players who would need to clear waivers if they were demoted, but the issue is they have four who are waiver exempt but are absolute locks to take up spots in the lineup. That Antoine Roussel has potential to start the season on long-term injured reserve clears up one spot and gets the Canucks down to 25 players, but there’s still two more who will need to be trimmed in order to get down to a 23-man squad.
  8. This is the Hockey News lineup for the Canucks in 5 years time...it is patently out to lunch...with Pakmu, Gadjovich and no Tryamkin, Stecher or Miller (who will be 31 then), EP, BH, BB and TM would be the only experienced veterans on the team...which is why Miller should still be here, Stecher and Tryamkin as well.
  9. Podz or Hogs...or maybe this year's pick if we get lucky...In the meantime, Ferland can pass the puck and should be fun to watch in front of the net...he has a good shot as well... Should be an entertaining season!
  10. 60 goals for 12 seasons playing with EP plus the goals he's already scored... Sounds about right...(insert stupid smiley faced icon)...
  11. Goldy's primary assist on a Jake goal...looked like max effort and skill to me.... Give him some games this year with some players...let him get comfy...and then see what happens.
  12. 22 years old vs. 34 years old... Skill vs. Slowing mind ....I could go on, but losing Goldy for nothing is going to hurt more than most of the rest of the guys we just keep losing year after year...McCann scored a beauty recently...at least he wasn't quite for nothing.
  13. My last word on Hutton was that he is due for another big jump this year....he has lost the goofy grin mentality and is now a horse...
  14. A third line of Baer or Pearson / Gaudette / Goldy or Virtanen ...is almost likely...if we don't make some trades then AG has to start in Utica and we need to waive someone we don't mind losing ( won't lose ) ...Eriksson has to be waived to save Goldy and keep from trading Jake... A Baer / Gaudette / Virtanen line might just work...but I would rather have Pearson on that line and Baer with Bo....
  15. Put 15 Lbs on Hogs...and we got Podz 2.0...
  16. Gaudette is better....Goldy is more valuable, so i wouldn't try to waive him...someone has to go we have 15-16 forwards that are as good or better... We either trade someone or some 2 players or Eriksson should be sent down until we can work a trade or he decides to retire.
  17. Totally agree...While Eriksson had a decent game last night...particularly on the PK...he still had two glaring giveaway's and is still thinking a bit slow on offense... If he were making $2M I would say he would be a good 11-13th forward but that is about it.
  18. Excellent analysis...! Although I think Eriksson's numbers are a bit off in relation to reality...he is a good PK guy and a decent 4th liner overall ...but his giveaways and missed assignments, even in limited minutes, are too much to ignore. It may be that scoring an own goal, I think it was his first shift as a Canuck, but it was early in his first game...was just too much for him to recover from...the jinx was on and hasn't left yet. I hope he can somehow make it lift and put in 20 goals while sporting a positive +/-...but I won't be holding my breath. On the positive side...playing Gaudette if he deserves it...and he will...is all bonus and whoever play's with EP will see a bump...that's a given. Here we go with a new season and a deep team...take note Brock...we only need you if you are here is what it comes down too....!
  19. Someone reported that he "just missed" his fitness goal...so he was close...
  20. The Canucks in tough in Calgary....that is pretty much Calgary's starting lineup playing against 4-5 NHL players and none of our top guys...
