  1. Hockey it Back!!! Just hoping we make it through one game without a serious injury to anyone...not named LE...
  2. Thanks for the rundown...it's good to hear the Baer is back... This could be quite a year...there are as many as 8-9 possible 20 goal scorers as well as 3 locks to hit 30 if healthy...given that BB is here from day 1... EP, BB, BH, Ferland, Miller, Baer, Sutter, Virtanen, Pearson and even Goldy or Gaudette if he got the season in... That's 11 guys without mentioning Eriksson....!
  3. I like that lineup...but I don't think they move EP from centre...maybe put Miller on that line and get him to take some draws, but EP needs the freedom to roam that centre's have. Ferland with Jake would give Jake the huevo's to make more hits...it may even become a competition... I also think we keep 14 forwards this year, but Goldy is going to play and Eriksson isn't...at least for long...I would put Motte on the 4th line and Goldy in Boeser's spot until he gets here and then see what's what....
  4. He doesn't need to defend...he just strips the puck and is spun and gone like Savard or Orr...
  5. We need 2 CDC's.... One for the whiner's and complainers and people that can't respond to others without calling them dumb or getting into hissy fit's... ...and one for the half dozen of us ( or so it seems ) that try to be civil about our opinions.... ...page after page of calling each other out over nada.... Thankfully at least I have a life outside of here....
  6. The doghouse boys combine for a great looking take-away and rush...JV top shelf...!
  7. The said they were going to ease Oli into the swing of things and not just "throw him to the wolves"...I hope he gets at least one preseason game to see were he is at....
  8. Big Mac may make it hard to chose between him and Jake...
  9. Hogwash....every player is different.... ...Hoglander forum...
  10. Sounds like the perfect weight for him...Chara is 6'9", 265lbs. or so...that should keep him mobile but bone-crushing...
  11. I am not debating you...Oli either makes the team out of camp....likely due to injuries if he does...and plays top 4 minutes within a few games... OR... They send him down and he earns his way up by November sometime and is playing top 4 minutes by Dec. That's a big old ...Just Watch on that! Oh...and Biega clears for sure ...Goldy doesn't clear waivers so I still think we go with 7 D.
  12. I feel the same way...Biega would clear waivers so we could keep Oli up without losing any D. to waivers...but I also think we are going to go with 7 D. this year...so he will have to go down until the first injury...so 5 minutes after training camp opens...
  13. I agree with most of that...but Biega would clear waivers ...for sure and Benning, as well as all the pundits think Erikkson will be with the team...he better play his arse off...or we will all be howling. All of this will not doubt be moot points once the season starts and the injuries as well...I just hope AG shows he has the stuff to stick and force a trade.
  14. ...That means we have to expose another forward to waiver's...and if they are serious about trying to give Erikkson a spot, that might be Goldy or Lievo that we have to expose...as well as sending AG down even if he earns a spot. Ferland / EP / BB Miller / BH / Pearson Baer / Sutter / Virtanen Motte / Beagle / Leivo Erikkson, Goldy, Schaller, Gaudette and Roussel (when he get's back) I think they only carry 7 D. this year ...at least until some trades or injuries happen.
  15. If Oli is ready...and it seems he is looking that way ...why do we assume he should still be left down in Utica until the TDL ...when we are all calling for Quinn to make it out of camp...even though he is younger and smaller and has had less pro experience...OPTICS... Let's let his play have a say...!
  16. After the first injury to a D.,....so by game 2 (ha,ha) Oli will be up and playing 2nd pairing minutes within a few more games of that...so while I think they start him in Utica just because they can ..but won't be sending him down once he gets up here.
  17. ...Well if we had Gretzky and Orr on the team...we would have just as tough a choice as to who was the better player... I would be happy to call it a tie and hope they spread the MVP award around to both and maybe Horvat as well...
  18. “It’s part of being a pro and you have to be really lucky to never have an injury — I hope it’s all behind me now,” reasoned the 21-year-old Juolevi. “I’m going to do my best show how much work I did the last nine months and get better every day. I showed in the first couple of months (last season) that I’m ready for the jump to play here and it’s a new season. I’m going to do whatever it takes.”
  19. Ya...but I would take Oli over Poolparty any day...I don't want Tchapuke on my team...we have Ferland now anyway...and Laine looks like headache to me. ...Dubois is good but Oli will be better ...so that leaves Mathews...Benning should have circled Mathews in red and then Oli in black and then I am good with the map and the process...
  20. How did this guy fall to the 6th round?....just to be talking about him grouped with the bolded below is unreal... (quote from G.A. above); All five of the players that finished ahead of Malone in scoring were selected in the first four rounds; in fact, four of the five were picked in the first two rounds. In other words, players with a similar statistical profile to Malone’s mostly got picked by the second round of the draft. To get Malone in the sixth round already seems like a steal, but it gets better. If you take the power play out of the equation and just look at 5-on-5 scoring, Malone shoots up to first. His 43 points at 5-on-5 led all first-time draft-eligible players in the USHL last season. Sure, there’s a mild caveat: on a per-game basis, Malone was out-scored at 5-on-5 by Alex Turcotte, Matthew Boldy, Jack Hughes, Cole Caufield, Bobby Brink, and Trevor Zegras. But now we’re talking about first-round picks and one second-round pick that should have gone in the first round in Bobby Brink. Not just first-round picks, either, but players that went in the top fifteen picks of the draft.
  21. Just checked our roster page...we have 21 forwards listed with 18 of them having a real shot at making the team if you include Zack...and I do... Take Roussel off and that's 17...even if we send Gaudette down until someone gets injured...that is still 2-3 guys that will have to clear waiver's.... Erikkson, I hope, is one, Schaller another...but if we carry the usual 13 forwards and 8 D. then someone else has to go and neither Motte or Goldy would clear waivers.... For D. men we have 13 guys listed and Juolevi isn't one of them...of those listed 7 are NHL players and one is Quinn Hughes so that's 8 guys without Oli if he is ready in time... If I were calling the shots we would keep 7 D.,....send Biega down...as usual...keep Fantenberg up and reluctantly delay Oli's arrival until we have an injury on D. I would have a hard time sending Gaudette down if he earns a spot and same with big Zack so there would be trades for picks...Sutter and either Motte or Leivo.... Playoffs here we come....!
  22. Here we are ...a team that didn't even come close to making the playoffs last year ( due to injuries mostly) and yet we have so much depth now that I can see us taking the record for most players plucked off the waiver wire to start a season...! What if Gaudette and Juolevi play lights out...it will be another Stetcher situation, they will still have to get sent down until injury recall happens or we will lose some good players.... Even at that we might have to try to send Goldy and Motte down even if we send Erikkson down as well ...we have a plethora of NHL players and a couple of should be in the NHL guys in Oli and Zack. Best case scenario...Erikkson takes a dive for the team and goes on the LTIR before retiring altogether.
  23. With some decent linemates he would have had 3-4 assits and a goal or 2...but his best play was taking out the Zebra blocking his way to net...we need more of that...!
