  1. Benning has done some great things...but he also lost Rodin and Tryamkin...brought on Gagme and Vanek and Eriksson....at least Vanek will get us a high pick if we play it right. There have been some iffy trades as well the one that lost us Forsling to Chicago and McCann is looking at least as good as Guddy at the moment and a few years younger...although I do think we need Guddy...without Tryamkin.... This management might soon start to feel the pinch that is this market and try some ridiculous stop gap measure.....Chaput and Boucher and Gagme and Burmistrov over Rodin is criminal mismanagement....and whatever happened to Tryamkin ...I hope can unhappen....
  2. What I meant was that while I prefer having Dahlen stay where he is or the SHL...I would still rather they bring him over due to all these injuries than trade him for veteran help....I would not want them trading draft picks for veteran help either....we are rebuilding with youth and while Eriksson and Vanek are doing well, we don't need more of them and we certainly don't need anymore Gagner's either. JD seems like the type of player who can use being the top dog for a whole season...I hope he stays where he is.
  3. 163 Lbs is what I remember from pre season ....that is 4 Lbs in 4 months or so....which sounds just right....8 more Lbs by next year's camp and he will be 175 Lbs...which is enough to hold his own with his style of play. 185 Lbs. is likely his prime playing weight anyway so we might as well get used to having a skinny Superstar....oh well.....
  4. Recalling Dahlen is preferable over trading him or draft picks for "veteran" help....if they decide to do that...and nobody wants that. All the same Dahlen isn't going to save our season...unless Horvat is back in 4 games time and Boeser with him ...we are well hooped anyway...if we aren't already that is.... Bubble wrap....breathable micro bubble wrap....some has to invent that, we need protection for these kids....
  5. ...of course once he is a Canuck...that would be called no goal on the ice....part of his stick is above the net after all...
  6. edit; double post... ...We are going to need to start bubble wrapping our main players...this injury jinx we have is worse than flukey goals against and the non calls/bad calls from the ref.'s....Justice I say...we need Justice...for 45 years it's been Just us.....that are not allowed a cup.....
  7. That is what I have been calling for to start out next year anyway...that line will be unstoppable...without a whistle that is.... That will be the 1st unit PP anyway so might as well play together other times too.
  8. EP thread ...oops again...Elias just isn't doing enough to garner our attention.... (sic.)
  9. That sounds likely right...or like me ...he is 6th generation Canadian and various other European counties before that...so I pronounce my last name ending in "ich" however the Canadian spirit moves me....
  10. ...he got tired of scoring goals...let someone else do the finish work.... I suppose if there is and injury to a forward and Lind has been getting 3 points a game in the meantime...Ducharme may change his mind...
  11. ...agree with every word...even wanting Glass or ...gasp...Vilardi ...over EP.....we just didn't know enough about EP back then. edit; I also think Lind and Glass are similar ...but Lind may be smarter/quicker to think the play, the limited time they played together on a line it seemed Lind was either driving the play or starting it with a steal or outlet pass and Glass was more just reacting to plays.
  12. Until they race it is all opinions...mine has MacEwen faster than Gaunce by a bit and Gaunce faster than Chaput by a bit...for sure MacEwen can launch quicker than Gaunce, who thinks to much before he moves...still....Chaput is quicker than Guance off the draw but goes the wrong direction occaisonally and is slower overall. That's how I see them, i know you have seen them more...
  13. Better 2-way game than he gets credit for...should have been on the team ahead of a couple guys....gotta go with calling this a political move ...again.... Sock it to em' Lindo...
  14. ...So where is EP....is that his 12 year old brother....?!? .....just kidding ...but he really does look young and small in that photo....which makes his feats on the ice all that much more spectacular...10-15 Lbs more and who is going to stop him?
  15. That shot from Joulevi looked as good as anyone currently on the Canucks can do....up high on the goalies shoulder, causing the rebound which Palmu pounced on like his old buddy and team mate, Gadjovich would have.
  16. Oli cow....their is Joy on the Levi....
  17. Every second highlight I see of Gadj.,....I could be looking at Phil Esposito ...they both are dead calm in the water and make deflections and in close roofer's (before anyone else knows where the puck is) and just generally making defensemen look weak and slow and goaltenders cry.... Neither one is very fast....but they will get to the puck first and with purpose in a 10 foot race every time...
  18. ....coming to rink near you....real soon....our very own little BoBBEP line....
  19. He would look really good about now in Baer.'s spot...or are you another tanker...in that case you must be cheering for injuries....
  20. EP's 165 Lbs. is probably tougher and more sinewy than either of the Sedins 175-180 Lbs when they were 19 years old....EP is faster and more agile than the Sedins. EP will undoubtedly have a faster start to his NHL career than the Sedins and likely reach even loftier heights....call it hype if want....I say... ....just watch....!
  21. ...I think I need some of your Meds.... EP's too skinny to score goals....only fat people can do that...
  22. EP is no Bambi in the headlights...there are players that won't go to the tough area's because they might bet hit...EP is not one of them, he will go anywhere, with or without the puck. Elias is going to be just fine in traffic ...mainly because he can see plays/hits developing before anyone else...he avoids 90% of the hits and bounces back up on the rest. Having meat on your bones is no guarantee of not breaking bones....Horvat's 220 Lbs could have been the deciding factor in his ankle breaking...if he weighed 175 he might have bent but not broke it. EP will probably start on the left wing with Bo and Boeser ...so he will have some meat on his line for protection and if he does center a line I would want to see Boeser on one side and MacEwen or Gadjovich ( likely not ready) on the other side. My guess is MacEwen or a free agent who can fight if need be.
