Valeri Nichushkin played 10:53; only Patrick Eaves (7:29) played less among Dallas forwards. Seems he started out playing on the 1st line with Benn but was so bad he must of rode the bench for the last half of the game. Once Horvat gets on the team I don't expect to see any no show performances from him. Happy with Horvat over Val.

Watched the replays of the goals again and Hansen was the fall guy for both Calgary goals, one bad give away and one poor decision covering the blue line. He is worth keeping around for sure, just not playing any games until injuries occur.
-
Sestito is already sitting, when Horvat comes back we need to sit 2 forwards.
-
Hope to see some game to game improvement but at 28 years old, Hansen is what he is.
-
Hands of stone Hansen. He has only played one good game so far this season and that last one was not it. So far it is unanimous Hansen sits.
-
Bonino started out terrible in the FO cirlcle then finished strong. Matthias and Vey were awful in the cirlcle and Richardson started out slow then did alright. I think Horvat will be our best FO guy by mid season, he is going to be on the team but not just because of that.

Willie said something like "he is coming off an injury, I really liked the way he was playing so we will have to see if he can keep that going when he gets back". Bo is going nowhere until he makes it or bakes it. 9 games then decision time, it is up to Bo to do just what he was doing.\ He's only going to get better. He will make the team.
-
To: "overlord" Well I am glad Willie disagrees with you. So do I. Horvat was the best of the rookies including Vey.
-
I guess he just had to catch up with the autographs, not enough time for the last pre season game!
-
But...it was his left shoulder that took the hit... Go Bo get well.
-
Ya but if the switch is a bit late in happening, especially in pre season, is there really any blame to throw around? If so who is to blame Horvat or the winger he was trying to cover for? All you see is Horvat not getting there in time ( I don't remember this event but whatever) maybe the winger was late calling the switch, maybe Horvat was dealing with his own man?
-
Bo is a center, he is not supposed to be covering the points, his job is in the center of the ice. So if he was covering the point he was doing it for a winger that was caught out of position.

His play has wowed management more then the majority of CDC'rs it would seem. The coaches are better at picking out positioning and team play. Most of the negatories on here want to see the toe drag, top shelf goal, which is fine, he does that too. It just isn't the main thing Bo does. Bo plays Hockey, some CDC'rs want shinny 10-8 scores, etc.
-
The injury if it is long term (weeks) may mean he remains a Canuck until he has healed, then he could get his 9 games in if there are other injuries by then.
-
He put the puck off the boards, even though he seen the hit. From now on he will probably get the elbows up faster! Never mind the puck. He may have been feeling safe playing between Sestito and Dorsett.
-
We need Bo on the team, he will do nothing but climb up the depth chart all year. Third line center by the trade deadline is my prediction.

From TSN: Horvat's had an excellent camp," Benning explained on The Bro Jake Show on TSN Radio 1040 Vancouver on Wednesday morning. "Our young players have all showed up and they've played excellent in training camp and the pre-season games. We still have a couple more exhibition games and then we'll meet as a management group, sit down and talk about (if they stay with the team). "Bo's done everything that he could do to make it a tough decision for us and we're happy about that."
-
Horvat is too young by a matter of months, Shinkaruk is a few months older and on the right side of the cut off date.
-
Sir Das; You might want to take your own advise and "get over yourself". If you can't see that he is better at just about everything then Hansen and as good as Richardson at FO's then your eyes are almost shut, sort of squinting sideways while telling yourself "that wasn't a good play". If he goes back to Junior he will be the anchor of team Canada and it's best player, he may not lead the scoring race but he will lead.
-
Well anyway Horvat is now listed at 6'1'' and 216 ripped LBs. He will be fine as long as Jensen and Shinkaruk can remember how to take a pass.
-
Sedins / Vrbata Burrows / Bonino / Kassian Higgins / Horvat / Richardson or Vey Mathias / Richarson or Vey / Dorsett or Hansen. That's 6 centers, could put Gaunce in for Dorsett and have 7 centers available every game. This is really what I want to see: Sedins / Vrbata This line will have a lot more room because of the below. Jensen/ Bonino / Kassian this line should destroy in the corners. Higgins / Horvat / Burrows this line should check the best lines. Mathias / Gaunce / Vey or Dorsett or Fox this line could check the 2nd line or run roughshod over the opposing 4th line! ALL lines should produce well!

Just trying to make u LOL...oh learned one and jogger of rambling old memories of announcers calling Stevie small and not rugged enough. He sure showed them.
-
Sure, ya, ya...alright ...but other than that what did he do?... oppsie mybad
-
For placing him as the number one prospect, they don't seem to like him all that much "likely at least a third line center" up from likely a third line center. Ah well, Stevie Y. never got much respect at fourth either.

Horvat's biggest competition is an injury free pre season for the Canucks (one in a hundred ? chance of that). As long as some regular player, forward or defence gets injured there will be room for Horvat...and he will deserve it! Just look at him 215 and ripped, the latest video's of him show a faster skater, he already had hockey sense now he has a year more maturity. If the team is healthy at any point in the season, which is not likely, Horvat's competition would include Hansen and Sestito as well, not to win there spots himself but to push another player down to take there spots like Mathias and Richardson who can both play wing or Dorset and Vey.
