  1. Sounds like Rutherford is the real loser. Letting Dreger think "they have there man" before anything was even agreed to. Pompous attitude.
  2. Awesome we are a destination again, eat it Pittsburg...
  3. Willy Fox eh... got me thinking maybe Booth is crazy like a Fox, hunt a few bears, screw around abit on utube basically cruise through the contract on the injury reserve list or dog house until he was sure he would be bought out, then turn it on for 10 games so he can have a shot at getting resigned... Boom a cool 4.75 Mil from us and 2 to 4? or 5?Million from ...let me guess... Florida...fun in the sun shootin' gators! time to go to bed...
  4. Exsctly a dynasty so why would we do it? It would have to be some huge package coming back.
  5. I'm sure Trevor at least will be hesitant to do an early trade and I think Benning would wait until draft day as well. Why not line up a trade or two and pull the plug on them if something comes up last minute. From the sounds of it (with Chicago being out on Kesler due to Benning's asking price) Benning wants a lot for Kes' I suppose if he gets offered our collective wish of Etem plus the 10th and 24th picks then maybe do it early....
  6. Our own goals last year was so typical of our luck for the last 20 years or so,since the Messier fiasco. There was a 2 game stretch where our best D Hammer had 3 goals go off him. Edler had a ton of own goals, even more than usual. Beiksa had lots and even Tanev had one. Poor Eddie, trying to keep a smile on that face with all the crap going on in front of him. Tortz was a circus, we knew it would be, hell he probably knew it would be... Nowhere but up from here, even if we dive next year and have to draft in the top 2...oh darn Eichel or McDavid. Nowhere but up.
  7. Actually Shinkaruk is 5'8" but he plays larger. Think Zuccarello for the Rangers. He was hammering people out there and rarely got hit himself, plus he was scoring and setting up goals. Small is ok as long as fiesty is included and we have a few big guys around.
  8. Opened my eyes oh wise sage... Sam R. if possible though...
  9. Ekblad, Reinhart, Draisaitl,Ritchie and maybe MDC and Nylander on weak teams.
  10. I don't subscribe. They are calling Nylander a wild card, possible top 5, possible still around at 10. Can't read the whole thing. can you copy and paste the draft?
  11. Virtanen is one of the youngest players in the draft so he would probably just be sent back to junior for another year anyway.
  12. Virtanen with the second round pick... After he trades our first to Buffalo for there first next year plus a third rounder either year.
  13. One of those three will be around for pick 6 but the only can't lose pick in my mind is MDC. He will be a great special teams/third liner at worst and has first line potential. Nylander could fail completely or be a first line player. Draistal will be a solid third liner at worst with still a small chance of total bust due to skating, etc. Ritchie has fallen off the radar for some reason
  14. Benning wants a tougher team, that was what he said in his interview, not fighters but grittier players who can play with the big boys when going gets tough. So it seems Ritchie will be the pick, maybe Virtanen but I am thinking Ritchie is the prototype he is looking for.
  15. I think Bergeron is closest to the game I expect Horvat to play. The top penalty kill line, second powerplay, shutdown 2nd line center, best take away/give away ratio on the team, etc.,etc. Screams Bergeron...
  16. That's great, I haven't seen Cassels much but Bo cam make some pretty nice, sneeky passes around the net and breakout passes too, so if Cassels is better we are in good shape for setup men in a year or two.
  17. I do think Ritchie may be the way to go anyway.
  18. Jensen is 6' 3'' and 202 as per the Canucks page, Gaunce is 6' 2" and 207, Horvat is 6' and 206. So Jensen is the tallest and Gaunce and Horvat are about the same weight, probably all three now because I think Jensen has put on some muscle since the start of the season.
  19. That line might work. Thing is if Ehler can't handle the rough stuff on the first or second line he can't play. If Ritchie can't raise his game enough for top two line duty he can still play on the bottom lines. Pretty much can't lose, same for Virtanen.
  20. Tom is still only 26 and is just coming in to his prime, there is some skill there if his head catches up to the game he could still improve quite a bit. It is obvious we blew our chance at the cup when we traded away Weise the overtime hero we never had. ...joking of course..
  21. Should have got a game misconduct for defying the laws of Physics.
  22. That could work, pick up Ritchie, Virtanen, Perlinni or Kapennen and get another good second round pick as well. I'm in as long as Winterpeg, Carolina, Toronto or Ottawa are in (I would want a future 4th rounder as well, if we had to do Ottawa).
