  1. What the heck! Thanks!! didn't even notice that Yeah I'd like the kids to go to Utica as an automatic thing, but these are pro's. Men who are earning a second /third shot at the bigs so I can see that it's no gimme being assigned there.
  2. It might be only 30ish games he'll get in Utica. Tough sledding for ice time there for rooks, esp undersized ones it seems.
  3. If it's this hard to get ice time the kids should stay away and mature some more.
  4. So Gadz, Palmu and Dahlen are scraps? or just over rated, over hyped draft picks?
  5. For a young player ice time should be paramount. Not siting in the press box. They should stay down with their clubs instead, European, University or where ever.
  6. Heart players sit while entitled fat contract players float.
  7. Maybe Utica shouldn't be the first choice for our young guys if it's so tough and so hard to get ice time. Keep them where they are comfortable and going to get ice time like Palmu. Utica could focus on our development of older types like Gaunce and Archie.
  8. Does he want to turn pro next year?
  9. I would too those orange jerseys are fugly.
  10. If Goldy could play like that all the time. He looked like Motte last night all over everything, but with way more skill.
  11. 211 is kinda skinny for a power forward but maybe he can be a scoring type like Greg Adams was. More playmaker than grit guy. Adams was about the same weight class.
  12. We looked over matched physically in Philly. We're close but need some more push back I like Mac but it wouldn't hurt him to put on another 20 lbs of muscle.
  13. Yeah but aren't we overloaded on featherweight playmakers? We need some pushback
  14. I missed today's game (they lost 3-2 to MMG, Tryamkin with 5 SOG) Last couple of games I caught the last two periods of each and the way I would describe his play is steady eddie, nothing flashy (although 2 games ago he did have a beauty stretch pass). He's on the PK 1, On the KHL ice I think his reach is one of his biggest weapons. It's harder to get the huge hits like here. One thing I like is how he keeps the puck in the zone. Manages his blueline well, because of his size it's harder for their forwards to push him out of the zone. He keeps plays alive for a bit longer. I think Atvo they are just kind of coasting right now as they are guaranteed a playoff spot.
  15. "Zack attack is going to be a fan favorite. He can skate, shoot, score, hit and fight. 6'4 211lbs" I think that is still a little skinny, might just need to hit the gym this off season.
  16. If he can get a little bit stronger without losing speed he can be our forechecking demon. I think he is definitely growing into this role, one to watch out for.
  17. Gaunce brings defense and hitting. He keeps the play in front of him and has one of our highest hits per minutes stats. He's a big body that has been coached the right way, 200 foot game. I think we are over loaded on finesse players and could use some more big bodies up front. He plays an honest style which is what keeps him around. I prefer him over Schaller for sure, and Goldy at times. Gaunce would help in our own zone, especially when we have trouble escaping the D zone.
  18. Geez that goalie had a bad game. I hope the other guy stays healthy for the playoffs. When do they start?
  19. Atvo loses 6-3 to a strong MMG team. Atvo was in control 2-1 in the 2nd period when their goalie took a shot in the chest and was hurt and left the game. Back up goalie let 2 in right away (I'd say kinda soft ones) then he went for a stroll behind the net and gave up a gimme. There was an empty netter and for good measure he gave up a soft 6th goal. The wheels pretty much fell off and left little flow to the game. Tryamkin had a couple good moments, he really wanted to jump in to try and tie up the game, and almost went end to end but he passed it at the blue line instead of carrying it to the net , no real big hits, one nice stick check, kept the play in front of him generally but with so many soft goals MMG pretty much coasted through the game for the win. It took away the competition level in this one. (I missed the 1st period) Interesting side note, even though he is no longer captain, Try stayed on the ice after a play to talk with the officials instead of Dawes. My guess is because he speaks Russian.
