  1. There's a lot of English speakers in the locker room. You can hear it in the post game hi 5 vids. A few North Am players too. The last game was "That was a f#&ing game eh boys!" The KHL players are from all over so English is pretty common I think.
  2. The good forwards he's facing are actually very fast and utilize the bigger ice to try and go around him. That;s why I think I've been saying, is that he's actually better suited to the small ice here. Like the hit on Jamie Benn wouldn't have happened there on bigger ice. This game he looked sluggish to start but when he got into it his speed was fine.
  3. Yes Janis water under the bridge, why hold grudges? We have his rights long enough to get a shot at him coming back. Why waste time hating the kid.
  4. Watched the game today 2nd and 3rd period. tbh Try looked ordinary trying to clear the puck on his back hand 3 soft clears . He actually had more time to switch it to his forehand and get a better clear/pass. This is where our coaches would help him I think. Towards the end of the 2nd and 3rd he looked more into the game. He had 3 good poke checks, 2 on speedy wingers coming in and his long reach forced them into the corners. One nice poke check in the neutral zone to break up a rush. There were 2 or 3 50/50 pucks he won along the boards, I think it's because he's strong and with a quick stick he wins those. He had 2 good hits, one clearing the crease during the pk flattened a guy, and one hit in neutral ice which was a innocent enough hit but because Try is a 'heavy' hitter (like Bubla) there was a second there you wondered if the guy was ok? When he hits, even innocent hits like that guys feel it, There was another hit like this behind his own net. (guy skated away gingerly) When he got his legs going and was skating great, one offensive carry from the point to the back of the net. He's like Jake carries it in good but doesn't find his options. Atvo won 3-0 with ease. One beauty breakaway by Gusyez beat their goalie in tight. The stadium only held 5,500 total seating, I don't know if the league will be able to match what Try can make here.
  5. He's fast but they haven't opened him up for many end to end rushes. They coach him in a more stay at home D style. Oddly enough I think we can open him up more here. On the smaller ice surface.
  6. The last few games I have watched him, he's played a lot like when he left. Strong on the puck, winning nearly all his 50/50 puck battles. His long reach poke check is one of the longest in hockey. He has been in shape, never went back to his chubby youth days. What is worth watching will their playoff games coming up in a few weeks. We'll see his true compete level in the KHL post season.
  7. I'd take him over Pouliot any day of the week.
  8. There's other pages here you can go.
  9. If you do not believe in his abilities or do not want Tryamkin here. Why are you people visiting his page? Trolling is such a juvenile pass time. I think Tryamkin is a great D man, and I look forward to him rejoining us when his meager KHL contract is up (hometown discount).
  10. Can we loan them Goldy to help them win it all? Then Try can take that KHL championship off his bucket list.
  11. hat goes for the whole team. We get virtually zero coverage of their games here. I'd love to catch a few games. Not going to order the 80$ game package though.(feed is sketchy too I hear)
  12. Oh ok, so they do know he has a North American value too,and that he is on a hometown discount contract with Avto. So CSKA, Moscow, and SKA, St Petersburgh could be competing against Vancouver when his contract runs out?
  13. He's only dressed for 23 games. But unlike Palmu he does not have any other options,23 is not much.
  14. Remember that top 30 list that came out a year or so ago, do you think he would make top 10 or top 5? A lot of them were forwards.
  15. "A: No. Trust me, I did not win financially by going back. Almost the same financial situation." I think he took a huge hometown discount, because he's loyal to his hometown. I think he'd double his income signing here. If Atvo wins the championship I think a buyout is possible if not I think he'll honor the last year of his contract..
  16. 1 goal 1 assist in today's game 24 minutes ice time
  17. We're not getting the bang for our buck lately in Utica. They want to win so they go with older vet signings to help them. This leaves some of our young guys sitting. So if our young draft picks aren't deemed ready for significant ice time what are we supposed to do with them?
  18. 6'1" 190 pounds good passing good shot goes to the slot He might be ready to handle the bigs with that size and skill, well a call up maybe.
  19. he's clear waivers for sure. Keep Gaudette up instead.
  20. Why did we sign this guy? What the hell were we thinking? ...we musta been drunk.
