  1. I like how everyone keeps piling on our team. But I really think our revamped D is going to reap benefits and help us keep games close. Last year I had no false hope for our playoff chances. I thought maybe we could push for a chance at a wildcard. Our bigger tougher more physical defenseman will help our pk and our shot suppression. OEL gone and Bo getting us roster players helps. I think we're better balanced this year than last year. I would'nt compare this team to last year. Because Hronek, Cole and Soucy are tipping the scales in our favor and taking a lot of pressure off of Hughes. Add a healthy Demko, and that 20 game win streak might be Tocchets blueprint for more wins.
  2. Eastern media says we're crap the oddsmakers say we're crap. Even some cdc'ers say we don't have a chance. You know what? fk dos guys We're going to do this thing an make the 1st round Then go from there and see what happens
  3. For shii and giggles I think I'll put 100 on the Canucks this season. Where is a safe and easy way to do that? Non gambler here
  4. Abbotsford Big Jack's Logo: Sasquatch
  5. Canucks Army article: Like the last number of seasons, Canucks fans seem to be overwhelmingly cautiously optimistic about the club’s upcoming 23-24 campaign. For years, the Canucks have been chasing the playoff bar and for years, they’ve come up short, oftentimes in somewhat gruelling fashion. And once again, the team appears poised for a wild card or third-seed Pacific Division finish at best. According to the oddsmakers, they’re most likely to finish on the outside of the NHL playoff picture once again. Let’s look at the Pacific Division: Edmonton Oilers 105.5 points Vegas Golden Knights 103.5 points LA Kings 101.5 points Seattle Kraken 94.5 points Calgary Flames 94.5 points Vancouver Canucks 88.5 points Anaheim Ducks 67.5 points San Jose Sharks 66.5 points As you can see, the oddsmakers feel it’s most likely for the Canucks to finish sixth in the Pacific and out of a playoff spot. In fact, the likeliest outcome is that the Canucks finish with fewer than 88 points, The Canucks haven’t been to the playoffs since 2020, and if not for a COVID-induced expanded playoff format, may not have even made the playoffs at all. The last playoff game the Canucks hosted at Rogers Arena took place way back in the 2014-15 season, which means if the Canucks don’t qualify for the playoffs this season, it will be ten years next year since Rogers Arena hosted a playoff game.
  6. He should go to Abby. Aman is stronger defensively.
  7. Our pk was so bad last year we have to change. So taking Petie and Hughes off it is worth a look. We need a consistent pk. Our pk killed us last year.
  8. I can't wait to see his and every other forwards game play with this defense behind them. If better defense means more ozone time for our forwards all the better. And a healthy goalie too. And with good back up I think Quinn can try more offense too. With his dipsying and his doodlying.
  9. Nope I think it means if you can either A, slap a reporter or B, punch a reporter in the throat for asking too many stupid questions. So Miller gets the C. IMO Petie and Hughes are too polite to deal with bad media. Some media always wants you to throw somebody under the bus.
  10. Smyl was good with the media.
  11. Who was our best Captain with the media?
  12. My caveat about captaincy is the asinine questioning by media after tough games. Because players are not allowed to slap bad reporters.
  13. I would vote Hronek for next year.
  14. Tough market for a C, 3 A's for the start. Team chooses one before Xmas break.
  15. I wasn't going to really didn't give it much thought. Then I got it bad. Like coma for like 10 days. Then I added the second booster. But not the 3rd or 4th. Some people I heard got 5 shots.
  16. Mik Petie Kuz PDG Miller Boeser Garland Suter Podz Joshua Blueger Aman Hogs If anyone on the 4th line gets injured I'd like to try Juulsen as a spare, for his hitting. Garland on his off wing, (this let's Podz get in). Plus Gar is a moxie vet so he should adjust fine. Adding size to each line except the first. Pearson stays on ir and Hogs on deck.
  17. Maybe Juulsen needs more coaching on his type of hitting. Taking the hits that are there. Without any stats to back it up, I would suggest to make only 80% of his hits. Take out iffy plays where he may over extend himself. Not saying to stop hitting but to curb your enthusiasm a bit. Take the clean hits, the certain hits. But Gonchar and Foote would know that margin of error for sure. Hit hard but stay healthy.
