  1. Much hope was also placed on Sandlak. He had a couple of good years but nothing spectacular. In fact his best year he got 16 goals and 40 points in 66 games. A few years earlier he had 20 goals and 40 point but was nowhere near as effective as iin his 16 goal year. Cue bass solo.
  2. Useless you say? I would say I disagree with your assesment. Gold cup, if it was typed that way was an error on my part. Now that I admitted it can you accept that Luongo has a history of letting in late goals? I would guess not and you would just prefer to call someone a name if your feelings are hurt. By the way, please end your sentences with a period if you would like to get into wring criticism. Also "olympic gold medal game should be with a capital O. You lose. Goodnight.
  3. Yes, Lu played well. Very well. If you can't handle a little criticism on him then that is just unbalanced. If you care to read other posts that was not all that was focussed on. I'll take the victory here. Goodnight Irene.
  4. Do you have any valid points to offer? If not please shut up and educate yourself.
  5. I guess you don't agreee with discussion and deabte. You seem to not like hearing aopinions, just namecalling. If you disagree with a post, why not offer a point of view?
  6. SamJambamm bam or whatever you shut up. If you don't agree with my comments, please retort. Otherwise grown the eff up. I guess you like a team with no killer instinct.
  7. It's not Garreet it's just Lu needed to let a soft one in and time was ticking...shades of the Gold Cup final...shades of game 7 vs. Chicago...
  8. Pathetic, it cannot score an empty net goal with over 4 minutes of chances. Not taking anything away from the win,but just no will to add salt to injuries...and then they give up a weak one with seconds left. Game's over but still something dominant teams do not let happen.
  9. Ok, this addresses a thread I started with the Canucks lack of ability scoring into empty nets to put the dagger to the other team. They have about 4 minutes to do something here......
  10. Would like to see the Sedins get some points. For my pool and also to havce them score against a top team, which isn't so common.
  11. Kes!!! That is a cool nicknmae. Harkens back to the all time classics like The Hammer, Big Bird, Tiger, Steamer,Strangler, Moose, and other great ones like Trev,Bertz,Nazzy, and Kass.
  12. It's really cool how Sportsnet is so casual. Instead of saying now here's a message from Dan Murphy, they just say "here's Murph". Gotta love there creative nicknames and carefree attitude.
  13. That Hansen miss at the end of the first seems to be the epitomy of the Canucks trying to build on leads and/or put teams away. I hope this doesn't come back to bite them, but a bettig man would take that wager.
  14. If you recall coreectly, before Kassian was placed on a line with the Sedins they were struggling. There were countless calls on the online shows about "what's wrong wth the Sedins". Keep in mind this was a short stretch they were going through and not a prolonged slump. When Kassian was on the line the Sedins were still getting criticized for playing porrly and Kassian sort of gave them a jump. Then you know what happened....but I wouldn't call him a fire hydrant on that line.
  15. Lu with the big rebound, but fret not-he is allowed to let in 2 crap goals per game regardless of the quality. He is elite, in teh top 20 in some categories!
  16. Pederson signing as a free agent was widely reported at the time. It was much different than free agency is today. It is printed in a Canucks program from the time which Iif I can get from storage will share. It was reportrd on CKNW. Ask Jack Godrdon. Maybe the GMan remembers this. I will find the free agent rules for that year somewhere. When teams signed them there was always compensation awared to the other team which included a draft pick and an option to protect a certain number of roster players.
  17. Please don't call me son. Did you follow this team through the 80s? I'd recommend you ask any member of the medai who followed the team at the time if that is what happened and most would probably say oh yeah that's how it happened. “I was a free agent and Boston didn’t want to sign me, so they made the move. It worked out for the Bruins and Cam, and we went to Vancouver." Barry Pederson
  18. No, that is what happened. It was easier over time to refer to it as a trade. But it was a feww agent signing. Over time the myth of the trade became legendary. If you read the reports at the time (you probably hadn't been born).though it was recorded as a free agent signing and Vancouver fans for the most part were excited. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Pederson
  19. Tired of so many talking about the Cam Neely trade. Not even do the sportscasters do their homeowrk on this. It was not a trade. Barry Pederson was singned by Vancouver as an RFA. Neely was awarded as compensation. At the time Vancouver was allowed to protect a few players and then Boston had their choice of who to pick.
  20. Wow!! A fan since 1993 when the team started to get trendy!
  21. come on Lu had no chance on that. At least in this game he won't be the second best goalie in the game, but still top 3.
  22. His goal totals have already started to slide in jr over the past 3 seasons.
