  1. Vancouver had 2 penalty shots in Detroit. They were down 4-2 and scored on both chances (Hlinka and Gradin). Kerry Fraser was the referee. Final score-4-4.Cue bass solo.
  2. Perfect on predictions in this game. I wonder if this will also be a contender for thread of the year, if not post of the year? Cue bass solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Sorry, not calling a power play goal this time. No bass solo!!
  4. I called it!! I called it!!! Cue more bass solos!!!!!
  5. I have a feeling they will score on the power play...cue bass solo!!
  6. Let's see, how many 33 year olds in Canucks history have dipped in production and then rebounded.....cue bass solo!!
  7. Well, the thread continues to get better, stretching through consecutive months. The bass solos have been cued!!! Thread of the year seems pretty much a gimme.
  8. If Vancouver pulls the goalie and gets scored on, the excellent thread about how often the Canucks get scored on when they pull the goalie versus how often they score into an empty net might have to be bumped....
  9. Don't worry, they traded for a puck moving defenceman who has.....0 goals!
  10. Nice powerplay! No panic, just take their time and see if they can get a shot.
  11. Thank you very much for the vote of confidence. Yeah, well it isn't officially the thread of the year as it is still just February. But all the talk and comments are trending to this being thread of the year. Cue bass solo.
  12. You need a lesson in simple mathematics bud. He may have been on pace for his best year but bottom line, he ended up not so. Dude, you have no memory of Claude Lemieux rag dolling Linden at home? It happened. You have no memory of Tom Larschied lambasting Linden on a TV broadcast for backing down from Tkachuck and then Jiri Slegr standing up to Tie Domi in 1993? It happened! I've followed this team regularly since 1976 so please get a grip and face the facts. Linden goes from 80 points in 82 games to prorated 67 (40 in 49 based on 82 games) to 21 in 42 games and you say his offence had not dried up? There were factors, but that is so with everyone else. Cue bass solo!!!!
  13. Wow, you just don't get it, do you? Linden's point production decreased from the md 90s. Are you denying it? There are reasons behind it, but the fact is the points decreased. Injuries are a part of the game and part of the reason a lot of players stop producing as they did when younger. Injuries may very well have take a toll on Kesler, Burrows, and The Sedins. You fail to realize that when Linden's points started going down there were others brought in to take on more of a scoring role. Now it seems it is a waiting game to see when and if the leaders of the past will regain their respective scoring prowess. That's three losses in a row.....three strikes...you're out, cue bass solo!!
  14. Hello? Who mentioned bass guitar, I ask you once again? So you wish to add excuses, fine. Bottom line is his point production decreased and he never got it back. Injuries happen, but you can treat his production with an asterisk.Or maybe they should allow people extra points in the art ross race if they have injuries, give teams extra point if they have injuries. You lose big time again and will not get a bass solo...ok maybe one.
  15. First of all, who ever mentioned bass guitar??? Second of all, how is the statement out to lunch? Linden' s points declined from a peak in 1996 of 80, to 40 (49 games the next season),38,47...he never got more than 41 again. But notice when he was declining in points that there were others ahead of him to be counted on for offence - in 96/97 Mike Ridley at Centre and in 1997/99 Mark Messier (Van), and Robert Reichel/Bryan Smolinski (NYI). Here it seems as playes lose their point production they have waited to long to have others take on the role. So, for you, you lose...cue bass solo!!
  16. Tre Mac, you maybe haven't watched the Canucks that long if you don't remember those. Yes he did give his heart and soul but did have moments of allowing sand to be kicked in his eyes. His best game ever must have been a 6 point night vs the Oilers in a 7-4 win where the more he got hit the more offence he produced. Linden's offence did decline but the thing about that is the club didn't just keep him as a first liner and say hey, he got 80 points before, he will come back. They redefined his role. With the team now it seems they figure that since certain levels were reached before they will be achieved again. So on your comment.......CUE BASS SOLO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Well, what are the odds that Daniel gets no more than 16 goals this season? Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.
  18. 5-2 final so I can add to the great thread about getting scored on when the goalie is pulled?
  19. powerplay has dropped to 29th and is falling fast...they should hold steady for a while there as they still have quite a lead on the Panthers.
  20. and here we go again....one of those nights, no chance, we're right there, we limited them to just 3 goals in 4:17...cue Dank...we need to put the puck in the net...cue Lu...I need to make that save...cue Sestito...how far am I off from getting $7m....cue bass solo
  21. Will it be 2-2 soon or not til later in the third? Holding off on the bass solo....
