Some players never make it in the bigs. Seems everyone thinks CoHo would make it but fewer think that Kass would make it. Is a known scorer with years of captaincy behind him worth more than a pugilist floater who gets into barfights? Even Gillis knows ChoHo is worth lots as he drafted him and gave him huge bucks right off the bat. Kass aint a bust but he aint worth what we gave up either.

KASS looks like a first round bust (Buff gave up on him afterall) He does, however, look like a solid 3rd round pick and everything leans in that direction. Lucic was a late second rounder after-all.

I hate these gifs but So, Gillis fracked up when we needed a replacement for an injured Kesler yet the one we got in return did nothing and other teams are all over the one who we gave up to a point that they give him a bazzillion dollars to play on a crappy team. got it.

Kass is a work in progress. It doesn't mean we can't talk about how we got robbed in the Neely trade nor how we scored in the Naslund trade.

Salaries are crazy, no doubt but they are a measuring stick. It's one thing to make 10% more than a 'comparable' but multiple times surly says something. Ya think any team will sign a restricted free agent to way more than what they think that they are worth? Kass has potential but if he was 10 years older dooin' what he does now he wouldn't get a contract offer from anyone.

Well that's the key now isn't it? Potential. Certainly not what he's accomplished so far (healthy scratch not too long ago etc) So, what is he gonna be offered by Gillis when the season is over and his contract is up? Will Gillis throw millions at him due to his potential? Nope. He'll be lucky to get 1/3 of what Hodgson is getting in Buffalo. (1.4 million per.)

Yup He can't even get easy assists. As they say they all count but they have to go in first. You look at any player and a good % of their points are easy points as all they do is dump the puck off to someone else and they still get a point when it goes in. Kass doesn't use his linemates and move the puck forward. He's only one assist ahead of the goalies. LOL.

Why does Kass have fewer assists than pretty much everyone including Weber? He could put one off of Booth's butt and still get an assist. Hell, he could pass to a defender, leave the ice and still get an assist but no, he has one all year. He is a lone wolf out there and does not use his line-mates well at all. He doesn't even play his own game half the time. A mucker that doesn't muck is pretty much useless Putting him on the first line is so wrong for so many reasons but soooooooo many are calling for it. Maddening really. He belongs on the third line and is, overall, a disappointment but that's Gillis's fault really as he said Kass was ready to make an impact straight away when he clearly was not.

He's way, way off where we need him to be. He's closer to being benched again than he is getting promoted to the Sedin's line people.
