  3. 2021 DRAFT TIDBITS PART 4 "Risers Edition" Parker Wilkins (C/LW/RW) Playing for Shawinigan in the QMJHL, Wilkins has moved 34 spots up in the mid-term rankings. The finesse forward is basically PPG with 49 points in 50 games, and has been consistently playing higher in the lineup than highly touted Rangers prospect Matt Choupani. At 5'10 and 180 lbs, Wilkins is a smaller but thicker center. To make an impact in the NHL, Wilkins will really need to shore up his defensive game and get stronger. Wyllum Sambrook (RW) A big 6'1 209 lbs playmaking winger, Sambrook currently has 26 goals and 56 points in 48 games for Sudbury in the OHL. Sporting an impressive 7.73 AVR, Sambrook is playing key first line even strength and PP minutes for the Wolves. Sambrook is a guy that oozes intangibles, his character is amongst the best of all draft eligible prospects and his will to succeed may force him into an NHL career. Shawn Blackwood (RW/LW) A 6'1 powerforward playing for Owen Sound in the OHL, Blackwood has been a force this year with 19 goals and 36 points in 49 games to go with 118 hits. Blackwood is in his rookie OHL season after playing last year in the NOJHL, and has been trusted to play in all situations, averaging over 19 minutes of icetime per game. Blackwood plays a very raw game and may need some developing, but he could turn into a force in the future. Max van Riemsdyk (LD) A freshman offensive defenceman for Colgate in the NCAA, van Riemsdyk has burst onto the scene this year with 24 points in 26 games thus far. Scouts have taken notice, as MVR went from being unranked in the preliminary rankings all the way to 62 on the mid-term rankings. The New Jersey native is averaging over 24 minutes of icetime this year, and has an impressive 7.73 AVR. Peter Vesely (RW/LW) A Czech native, Vesely has held his own this season playing in the top Czech men's league. With 10 goals and 16 points in 33 games, Vesely has shown an offensive touch. He's also getting over 16 minutes of icetime a game, and has quickly become his coach's dream with his strong work rate. Vesely is a later birthday who is showing that the extra wait could be worth it.

  20. ANNOUNCEMENT I will begin to post trades that include two eliminated teams shortly, however a few notes first. As stated before, all player clauses will be waived for a period of time in order to promote more trading, and help teams wiggle around the flat salary cap. No player clauses will be enforced starting today until the end of our Entry Draft. Please note that if a player with a clause is traded, their clause still stays intact for after this period is over, whether they are on a new team or not. Speaking of the Entry Draft, we'll begin our 2020 Draft with no time clock at the end of Round 2. Although there is no timeclock, it is important we get most of the draft done before the end of the playoffs, especially due to the odd offseason ahead of us. Finally, compliance buyouts. All eliminated teams are allowed to PM me which player they choose to compliance buyout. Please do not post these in the thread, all players that are bought out via the compliance buyout will be posted together in one post. The deadline to use the compliance buyouts will be at the end of the playoffs as well, so teams that make the 3rd and 4th rounds will not have much time to make their decision. It is not mandatory to use the compliance buyout.
  21. Here's where things stand heading into the final night of the play-ins tomorrow! A few quick notes: Barring a miracle (hey, a goalie goal is worth 99 points), Nashville, Vegas, Calgary, Buffalo, and Toronto will be moving onto Round 1 with Detroit, Minnesota, Anaheim, Ottawa, and New Jersey joining the sweepstakes for 1st overall. A few close matchups left, I'll break them down: Vancouver is up by 11.5 points and will try to defend their lead with Steen and Gurianov, however could receive a big boost if Backstrom and Klingberg shed their "unfit to play" statuses. They'll be up against Chicago who will try and make up the lead with Gudas, Perron, Cogliano, Lindell, Kyrou and Sekera. Tampa Bay has a 28 point gap to make up with Oleksiak, Boyd and Panik however they will be approaching miracle status as Washington will ice a strong roster of Andersen, Dubois, Marner, Rielly, Jones, Faulk and Nutivarra to close out the play-ins. Boston is holding onto a 12.5 point lead over Florida, and will try and book their spot in Round 1 with strong performances from Texier, Parayko, Perry, Wilson, Krejci, Sundqvist, Kase and Murray against a depleted Florida team that will be left with just Scandella and Carlo. If Round 1 were to start today, here's what our current matchups would be: #1 Edmonton vs #11 Vegas #2 Colorado vs #10 Vancouver #3 Winnipeg vs #9 Nashville #4 Los Angeles vs #5 Calgary #1 Rangers vs #9 Washington #2 Islanders vs #7 Buffalo #3 Carolina vs #6 Boston #4 Columbus vs #5 Toronto Finally, I can confirm the following designations for Monday afternoon's draft lottery, here's who teams would be paired up with if the standings were to stay in tact after tomorrow's games: CDCFL -> NHL Chicago via New Jersey -> Minnesota Anaheim -> Winnipeg Florida -> Rangers Ottawa -> Nashville Detroit -> Florida Anaheim via Chicago -> Toronto/Columbus Minnesota -> Edmonton Montreal via Tampa Bay -> Pittsburgh *Obviously if the standings change, both the projected Round 1 Matchups and Draft Lottery Assignments can go out the window*
  22. With teams about to be eliminated (officially) tomorrow, I am going to begin rolling forward the spreadsheets for eliminated teams. Any close matchups, I'll hold off on updating to refrain from putting any bad omens on teams.. This will allow me to post the number of trades in my inbox (mostly courtesy of @Rush17 ) almost immediately assuming both teams are eliminated from the playoffs.
