2020 DRAFT TIDBITS PART 3 "YANKEE DOODLE" EDITION Matt Resop (C) The latest draft eligible prospect out of the now powerhouse Anaheim Junior Ducks program. Resop is a 6'6 224 lbs two way forward who has currently put up 18 goals and 31 points in 25 games thus far. The big center has also chipped in with 76 hits, and projects to play a well rounded game at the next level. Resop is wanting to play college hockey next season, but may follow the footsteps of former teammate and Penguins prospect Beau Polster and play in the AHL next season. Edward Porter (RD) A very intriguing offensive defenceman that has played the last few years playing high school hockey in Michigan. The 5'10 174 lbs defenceman is currently tearing it up, with 18 goals and 55 points in 32 games thus far. Wanting to play college hockey as well, Porter is also a guy who may end up in the AHL next season instead. After playing high school hockey as his highest level in his career, will the AHL be too much to handle, before he even gets drafted? Tyler Marino (RW/LW) A goal scoring winger for Sarnia in the OHL, Marino currently has 29 goals in 34 games to start off this season. Marino is a high volume shooter, as evidenced by his 141 shots so far and is currently playing for the United States at the World Juniors. Although he is 6'2, Marino is not known for his defensive game, and can sometimes be known as a defensive liability or black hole. Dylan Wilkie (C) Wilkie is a playmaking center currently playing for Bloomington in the USHL. Wilkie has high level passing abilities, however his shot is peewee tier level. This season through 31 games, Wilkie only has 4 goals, which follows up a 15 goal season in 60 games last year. Wilkie is a thicc boy at 5'10 and 200 lbs, and it may be likely that he plays a couple more seasons in the USHL before signing an NHL contract. Paul Butler (LW) A teammate of Stars prospect Mark Regula in Waterloo of the USHL, Butler plays a big mean game. The 6'4 218 lbs winger is tied with Regula for the team lead in points with 31 points in 31 games, but Butler also has 127 hits and 51 shot blocks. Butler is a strong skating winger who could turn into a dominant force if he is able to develop his offensive abilities a bit more.

Yep, so for the "1st round" we have: The 1st placed team in the round robin will play the 4th highest seeded team to advance from the play-ins. The 2nd placed team in the round robin will play the 3rd highest seeded team to advance from the play-ins. The 3rd placed team in the round robin will play the 2nd highest seeded team to advance from the play-ins. The 4th placed team in the round robin will play the highest seeded team to advance from the play-ins. ----- As for the draft lottery, we'll assign teams in our league to teams IRL, and whichever team wins 1st overall in the NHL will be the same team that wins 1st overall here. The eliminated team with the lowest number of points from our regular season will be assigned to the eliminated team with the lowest number of points from the NHL. The eliminated team with the highest number of points from our regular season will be assigned to the eliminated team with the highest number of points from the NHL. Everyone else in between will be assigned accordingly, I think you all get the point After Pick #1 is assigned, picks 9 to 15 will be auto assigned in reverse order of the standings, which will basically be the order of the assignments.

This is correct. Holy crap didn’t realize this! If things ended the same way, you and @Caboose would have a combined 50% to get #1!

Boy oh boy, how much do the dynamics for this pool change if these upsets actually happen..

2021 DRAFT TIDBITS PART 2 "GOOD CANADIAN KID" EDITION Kevin Wietzes (LW) A big 6'4 two-way forward in his 3rd season for Chicoutimi in the QMJHL, Wietzes has shown both offensive prowness and a willingness to play physical after back-to-back point per game seasons to go along with 200+ hits. This season, through 29 games, Wietzes has 10 goals and 32 points to go with 101 hits and a 7.83 AVR. Wietzes has excellent straight line speed that makes him a forechecking nightmare. Justin McCutcheon (LW) The 1st overall pick from the 2018 WHL Draft, McCutcheon has followed up a 73 point rookie season with 19 goals and 33 points in 28 games so far this year for Kootenay. McCutcheon is a slippery skilled forward however there are some concerns that he lacks strength to make it to the next level. There are also some questions as to whether McCutcheon is a product to Rangers top prospect Dylan Magee, or if he is a line driver himself. Victor Feniak (C) A 6'5 222 lbs center who plays a 200 foot game, Feniak is a late birthday currently in his 3rd year in the WHL. After two point per game seasons, Feniak is following it up with 9 goals and 30 points in 25 games, as well as winning 65% of his faceoffs and has a 7.88 AVR. As a later birthday, Feniak may be ready to step into the NHL sooner than some of his peers however there are questions to how much of his offensive upside will translate. Martin Christensen (LD/RD) A playmaking offensive defenceman that has burst onto the scene in his rookie season for Rouyn-Noranda. At 6'3, Christensen is a strong, smooth skating defenceman who might be a bit raw as we speak, however scouts believe that he has the ability to grow and become a capable two-way defender at the NHL level. Only in his first season at a higher level, could this lack of experience lead to Christensen dropping in the rankings? Jeff Caputo (RW) A playmaking winger that made a name for himself last season after a 50 goal, 108 point season for Portage in the MJHL. This season, the stats aren't as impressive with 11 goals and 27 points in 21 games, and scouts are trying to figure out if last season was a fluke, or if Caputo is for real. Could the lower level league be a factor in this, or does Caputo have legit potential? Caputo is still trying to secure a college scholarship for next season.
