  1. TEST SIMULATION STATS: http://rgmg.tk/stats I WILL BE REVIEWING THESE STATS TONIGHT, AND MAKING ANY MINOR TWEAKS IF NEED BE. GENERALLY HAPPY WITH HOW THINGS TURNED OUT THO. SIMULATION WAS DONE WITH EHM IN FULL CONTROL OF LINES AND ROSTER, HENCE WHY YOU SEE SOME GUYS THAT ARE NOT ON OUR WEBSITE. OBVIOUSLY, REAL SIMULATION WILL BE COMPLETED WITH YOUR OWN LINES.
  2. ANNOUNCEMENT Perks will not become active until the conclusion of Season 1 Playoffs. For the first season, teams will only receive a depth chart (sorted by CA).
  3. ROSTERS AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING HERE: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LP3lAt77dxWmVeExCx0_hyLrPITkgBR7EDtHL2Zzo5o/edit#gid=686800106 HANDNESS / PLAYER TYPE DOES NOT SHOW UP THERE, WILL SHOW UP ON SITE
  4. Minimum Salary - 0.650M Maximum Salary - 10.000M Season 1 Salary Cap - 73.000M I will be using the following ranges to "rank" players: Forwards Defense Goalies Generational Generational Generational Franchise Franchise Franchise Elite Elite Elite 1st line Top pairing Starter Top 6 #2 1B Starter Top 9 #3 Elite Backup Middle 6 #4 Backup Bottom 6 Bottom pairing Depth 4th line #6 Depth Depth Following my re-rates, I will release the top 10 list according to CA for LW/C/RW/LD/RD/G, as well as releasing the top 30 goalies and detailing what range they are attached to right now.
  5. THE RETURN WHAT'S NEW: 1. All players have been manually re-rated and adjusted by Nail. We are using 2016-17 rosters, pre trade deadline (Burrows/Hansen still on Vancouver) All players have had their player types adjusted to reflect the style that they play IRL. Each team has had 5 prospects selected at Nail's discretion, there will be no swapping of prospects. Every 28 players in each organization has been manually re-rated, their CA has been based off of their abilities in 2017 while their PA has been based off of their abilities in 2020. Each team will be provided with an organizational depth chart with these 28 players shortly after their team selection. 2. Handness and Player Types will now be shown on the sheets. All GMs should be familiar with the different player types, google them if you are not. Will help play a key role in line chemistry and player development. Handness will help match up defenseman on strong sides. 3. Salary Cap Retention will return. Teams will be able to retain up to 80% on any pending free agent's contract. Teams will be limited to retaining salary on 3 players contracts, there is no limit for the number of players that you can acquire retained. 4. The Entry Draft will be overhauled. There will be no more grading system. Instead, players will be ranked based on their projected draft range at the time of the draft. Like real life, teams will not know how good their prospects may become until they have followed their development curve (more leagues have been selected for more accurate prospect stats). The prospect comparables will provide teams with a general idea of how good the prospect could become. A Sidney Crosby comp has more potential than a Tom Sestito comp. This will make player progression more "random", as you do not know how good a player could truly become. Teams will be able to use their perks on prospect scouting reports to figure out more information. As for draft scouts, each team will receive 2 scouts for every 1st round pick they have, and 1 scout for every 2nd and 3rd round pick they have. The scouts will release draft range and comparable. These numbers will be locked in at the beginning of the draft, meaning if teams acquire more picks during the draft, they do not get more scouts. All scouts must be used prior to the end of Round 1. 5. Perks will be overhauled. Teams will have the option to choose between a "Contenders" or "Middling" or "Rebuilders" package, each resetting at the end of each Entry Draft. All perk packages are still subject to change, some minor tweaking may occur. "Contenders" : Teams choosing this package will receive the following: - 5 internal or external scouts that can be used to scout players on any team. These scouts may only be used on a player that has at least 1 full NHL season played. - 1 depth chart that can be used at any time throughout the year - The ability to exceed the salary cap by 1.5M for that upcoming season only - The ability to offer for "grizzled vets" in free agency that are chasing a Stanley Cup and willing to sign for a discount "Middling": Teams choosing this package will receive the following: - 10 internal or external scouts that can be used to scout players on any team. These scouts may only be used on a player that has at least 1 full NHL season played. - 1 depth chart that can be used at any time throughout the year - 1 organizational top prospect rankings list ranked by Nail - 1 30 minute chat with Nail regarding team direction, players to build around, players to sell. Opportunity to ask any questions you wish. "Rebuilders" : Teams choosing this package will receive the following: - 2 comprehensive prospect scouting reports that will reveal the prospect's true potential, their NHL ETA, and their individual strengths and flaws - 1 organizational top prospect rankings list ranked by Nail - The ability to re-negotiate 1 overpaid contract to a cap number more suitable for their skills (must be done in the offseason) - The ability to offer for the new entries into the free agent market that are looking for a team to break into the NHL with 6. The Re-Signing Guidelines will be overhauled. There will hopefully be 1-2 test season simulations in which Nail will release the stats to for teams to get a better idea of how good some players may be. (Maybe this still happens? Who knows) The re-signing guidelines for forwards and defenseman will be built off of these stats. The re-signing guidelines for goaltenders will be primarily based off of CA and PA, and will put less emphasis on stats. If you have a top goalie, you'll be paying him regardless of how good their stats are. Good to be back, revived and renewed! Originally, I started building these rosters and re-rates with a mid August to September start date in mind. Currently, 6 teams out of 30 have been re-rated by me, or 168 players out of 840. I will try and grind more re-rates quicker, although I would like everyone to note that school/work/real life (its still a thing) have picked up greatly since the start of CSL. The sim pace for 6.0 won't be quite as fast as before, but it will be enough to satisfy you horny bastards. Team draft does not need to begin until the rosters are up and available to view on the website, however if you want to pick your team without seeing their full roster/prospects, I won't stop you. I am hopeful to get everything done in 7-14 days, however I do want to run a few test simulation seasons to try out the re-rates and make sure everything looks good so it may be a bit longer than this.
  6. Hey all, hope everyone is well. Couple quick notes: The 7 teams which have been eliminated from playoff contention have had their team sheets rolled over to 2020-21 mode (Montreal, Philadelphia, Arizona, San Jose, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Dallas). Other teams sheets will be rolled over as teams get eliminated from playoff contention. I have renamed all AHL teams to match the real life AHL affiliation for each NHL team. Seeing as the regular season is deemed over, I am in the process of updating all waiver eligibility. As a reminder, this is what was approved as per the last league questionnaire: Feel free to send in contract extension offers to @Monty and I, we'll get to them soon and it makes things a lot easier for the future if we can wrap up the bulk of them early!
  7. Yep, I don't really need them now, and may ask those who have already posted to post again once I can start inputting into Pickup. I imagine once the exhibition games have begun, Pickup will have their playoff pool option added and I can begin inputting rosters.
  8. Similar to other players with slightly different situations, you'll be unable to terminate Leipsic unless he retires or signs in Europe.
  9. Very awesome to hear the plan put forward in the NHL today, we can follow through with some of our plans that we will be proceeding with now! Every team will submit a playoff roster with a maximum of 23 players, as well as a list for black aces. As per usual, black aces can be swapped into your lineup in between rounds. Play-in round points will be counted during the play-in round in the NHL, as well as the Round Robin for the top 4 teams in the NHL. These will be the only games that we count play-in round points for. Playoff scoring structure will apply on Pickup The top 4 teams in each conference will also submit rosters for the play-in round. I am waiting to hear how the NHL plans to run their round robin for seeding, but it will be very likely that our top 4 teams will be battling for seeding as well in the play-in round. Best producing bye team would get the #1 seed for Round 1 and so on. Draft lottery and draft order will mirror IRL, we'll match up the Team A, Team B, Team C, etc in a similar way to the NHL should we need to in a second draft lottery. I do have some trades in my inbox, like previous years, they will be posted once both teams have been eliminated from playoff contention. Lastly, congratulations to @Master Mind's Winnipeg Jets on winning the Presidents Trophy! If anyone has any other questions, feel free to reach out.
  10. The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed the following draft picks to ELCs, starting in 2020-21: Calen Addison - 3 years, $0.900M per year Jesse Ylonen - 3 years, $0.900M per year Jakub Lauko - 3 years, $0.900M per year Jack Drury - 3 years, $0.900M per year Gabriel Fortier - 3 years, $0.700M per year @Keslerific
  11. A key thing to remember is that PIMs are only worth 50% of what they are worth in the regular season, so they won't be as powerful in the playoffs. I'd like to see to what extent these "exhibition games" are between the teams with byes before considering including the points or not. If they are for competitive seeding, it wouldn't be a bad idea to include these then. If we wanted to combine points for both rounds, we'd either be using all of Round 1 or none of Round 1.
  12. That's ideally what I'd like to do. I feel my proposal does this, it's just different in how we actually track the points. Teams irl don't really lose out on anything by receiving byes, but teams in FL with their players do.
  13. Well another thing I'm curious to know is if the teams eliminated in the play-in round automatically get picks 8-15. If they do, I think there'll be some teams who wouldn't even want to participate in the play-in round here...
  14. Alright, after some further thoughts to the proposed playoff idea IRL, I've come up with an alternative for our fantasy hockey pool to run. I don't think teams in the play-in round should be penalized for having players on elite teams, and losing out on their points doesn't seem very fair at all. Everything would stay the same in terms of seeding and the byes, this proposal is just for how we score points. So here's my idea... For clarity sake, I'm calling the "play-in" round the round with 24 teams still left in the playoffs, and the first round the round with 16 teams left in the playoffs. The "play-in" round in CDCFL will accumulate all fantasy playoff points earned in the "play-in" round in the NHL and the first round in the NHL. The winner of the play-in round in CDCFL will be the team in the matchup that has the most combined points from these two rounds. The winner of the play-in round in CDCFL would then move onto the first round in CDCFL, and for this round, only their first round fantasy points will count in their matchup against the team that received a bye. Basically, the teams with the bye won't exactly know who they are playing in the first round while the first round games are being played in the NHL, but they will want to just have more first round points than both teams in the "play-in" matchup to advance. For example, I'm going to take the Minnesota vs Vegas matchup with the winner playing Los Angeles: Minnesota has 36 "play-in" round fantasy points and Vegas has 56. Minnesota has 155 1st round points and Vegas has 50. Minnesota would advance to play against Los Angeles by beating Vegas 191 to 106. Los Angeles had 193 1st round points. Los Angeles would then beat Minnesota in the 1st round, 193 to 155 and move onto the 2nd round. If Los Angeles were to have less than 155 1st round points, Minnesota would then move onto the 2nd round. I'm open to thoughts on this idea, fantasy hockey is in a weird predicament for playoffs, and I feel this allows teams to utilize all their players, and still have a fair shot at winning their playoff series.
  15. Some interesting news regarding the playoffs here... https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/nhl-nhlpa-working-24-team-conference-based-playoff-setup/ If the NHL were to following through with this, here's how our playoffs may potentially look like: Top 4 in East and West receive byes: Carolina (1) Columbus (2) Rangers (3) Islanders (4) Winnipeg (1) Colorado (2) Los Angeles (3) Edmonton (4) 5 v 12 (Winner plays 4) Toronto (5) vs New Jersey (12) Calgary (5) vs Anaheim (12) 6 v 11 (Winner plays 3) Boston (6) vs Florida (11) Minnesota (6) vs Vegas (11) 7 v 10 (Winner plays 2) Buffalo (7) vs Ottawa (10) Chicago (7) vs Vancouver (10) 8 v 9 (Winner plays 1) Tampa Bay (8) vs Washington (9) Detroit (8) vs Nashville (9) This would potentially be very interesting, seeing as the 4 Metro seeds would take all 4 of the byes in the East, as well for the fact that this will undoubtedly have an impact on who will win the "play-in series'". If we make it points from the play-in series, every team will be without players from Boston, Tampa Bay, Washington, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Colorado, Vegas and Dallas. This will likely lead to some upsets if a 5 through 12 seeded team has a lot of these players on their team! I could see this being a major disadvantage to some, so maybe we see a scenario where we just take the top 8 teams instead and start during what would be the normal Round 1? But our playoff races were very close, so that may be a disadvantage to the teams that were super close. We may just have to stick with what the NHL does in order to be the most "fair". Open for discussion though!
