  1. Announcement After a semi-successful Olympics, the NHL has received increased revenue and has made the decision to raise the salary cap for the 2010-11 season. The cap will be raised by 1.5M, to make a total of 45.5M. Teams will be unable to access the additional 1.5M until Free Agency begins, they may not use this extra cap space to go over the cap while re-signing players. This is to ensure the Free Agent Market will still be as good as originally planned. Reports say this cap raising could've been doubled if it not for teams having to play NHL games without their Olympians.

  10. We've reached the Olympic break, I will be posting the rosters shortly. There are still 4 days worth of NHL games that will begin without the Olympians. Some players will be lost today (Feb 10) and some players will be lost tomorrow (Feb 11) depending on when their Olympic team's first game is. I will not be touching any teams lines during this period, I am pretty sure your team will just play without these players but will be able to slide back in once they are eliminated from the Olympics. It is either I fix all 30 lines or don't touch all 30 lines and I have decided not to touch any of them. Olympic screenshots will be posted starting tomorrow. Trade deadline tomorrow night.

  17. Today the Philadelphia Flyers traded away Marek Zidlicky, Ryan Malone, Milan Hejduk and Matt Pettinger. We would like to take a moment to thank @Kurisu, @Go Faulk Yourself, and @Patrick Kane for the pleasurable negotiations. It was an extremely hard decision to move these players, however we feel the moves we made allow us to look towards the future, while keeping the team competitive for a Stanley Cup run this season. We are very excited to welcome in Joe Corvo, Pavol Demitra, Myles "Andre" Drummond, Radim Vrbata, Steven Reinprecht as well as an additional 1st round pick. Although the players we have acquired may be considered "downgrades" on the players we moved out, we feel we have the depth to move players up the lineup into a bigger role, and still maintain success. Looking ahead to the offseason, the additional cap flexibility by not having to re-sign Zidlicky or Hejduk will allow us to give Claude Giroux and Jaroslav Halak the raises they deserve. We believed that giving big raises to pending 33 and 34 year olds would be a recipe for disaster and would set us up for failure in the long term. That being said, we are still open to moves right now and are actively looking to find Reinprecht a new home. He is a very capable 3rd line center however with Matt Cullen and Jeff Halpern as bottom 6 centers, there is no room on our roster and we would love to give him an opportunity to succeed. We would also consider moving one of our 2 first round picks to acquire a top 4 defenseman to further boost our backend. PHILADELPHIA FLYERS ROSTER Jamie Benn - Jeff Carter - Martin St. Louis Markus Naslund - Mike Richards - Claude Giroux Pavol Demitra - Matt Cullen - Radim Vrbata Sergei Brylin - Jeff Halpern - Brandon Sutter Steven Reinprecht Joni Pitkanen - Adrian Aucoin Joe Corvo - Rhett Warrener Freddy Meyer - Kurtis Foster Jaroslav Halak Chris Mason

  20. Projected top 2 picks Pirmin Walker and Tino Boschman are both experiencing some struggles in their draft year. Could the pressure be getting to them? Could Taylor Hall or even Paddy David surpass either and jump into the top 2? After all, Hall is enjoying a strong season himself...

  24. Philadelphia has warmed up to the idea of moving current Art Ross front runner Milan Hejduk, as well as top defenceman Marek Zidlicky within the Eastern Conference. This would be a great opportunity for an Eastern team to get stronger, while making the Flyers weaker in the process. We would still prefer to move both to the West if at all, and are likely going to be making a move for at least one today. Please reach out if you have any interest at all!
