  1. Bad start to the season but i'm reassured about management after they announced the major deal with Rogers. Comforting to know they are on top of things.
  2. It is essential to have a lead in order to be able to blow it. All is going as planned.
  3. Then he better start playing a 200 foot game, Deb. He has been on the ice for every goal against.
  4. Everyone acknowledges pro hockey is a business yet they seem to accept a company that consistently underperformed and sometimes flat out fails. In the real world businesses need results to succeed. The Canucks have had a revolving door of players, coaches and staff for years but have always iced a team that at best might make the playoffs. Some are satisfied with the hope and promise of rhat model. JR obviously is not and is cutting out anything he sees as part of the rot that led to long term mediocrity. It is long overdue.
  5. Ultimately it falls on ownership. They keep GMs beyond when they should and allow them to make desperate moves in a failed effort to save their jobs. this leaves a mess for the next management to have to clean up. It always sets the team back and limits the opportunity for new management to make the moves they would like.
  6. Not hard to see how Minnesota is achieving success. The refs are allowing them to mug with impunity. Obvious interference and a slew foot in the last few seconds alone and no call. The NHL continues to manage outcomes. It is and always will be the least professional league in all of pro sports.
  7. Which one of his bad passes are you referring to? There have been a few tonight. His situational awareness is noticeable by its absence.
  8. He has played some strong hockey the past few games. He plays a heavy game, well suited to playoff style games
  9. relax champ. yes. One bubble appearance is not much of a track record to prove playoff pedigree. He missed a significant part of last year with an injury and admitted to struggling for much of this year with one. That's a lot of down time for a guy who is only in year 3 of his career. Maybe its an indication of durability, maybe its not. only time will tell. I like Petey and would be thrilled if he becomes what you already seem to think he is. l am just not ready to crown him a playoff star based on what I've seen, you apparently are.
  10. Pretty short track record and he has been frequently injured or struggling with an injury. Time will hopefully tell if he can handle the heavy going for a long playoff run.
  11. If this group ever makes the playoffs, I see Podz as being a more effective player rhan Petey. Seeing how big strong teams play in the post season, I just don't see him as being able to survive and produce.
