  1. What has happened to Lucic is a disgrace but everyone trying to blame it on "Vancouver" or the Nucks fan base is out of line. As with the Church vandalism and the rioting, these are the actions of individuals and do not represent the city or its fan-base. Every city, town, fan-base has them. Boston had fans that bullied a little girl in Boston during the 2011 playoffs because she was wearing a Nucks sweater. Doesn't mean all Boston fans would do that or condone that. Even coach Julien stepped up and criticized Marchand's disgusting display last game. Everyone quit trying to paint this as anything other than some idiots behaving badly...they're everywhere.
  2. I find them increasingly frustrating to watch with the never-ending cycle back and forth to eachother. As soon as they get the puck, they immediately think "where's my brother"? Danny gets space inside the face off dot for a shot and passes off to Hank. It's not just the twins though, Kassian has space at full speed going down the left side and instead of driving the net (like a power forward) he button hooks and waits for the Avs to set up in the zone. Same with Bieksa who gets an opening for a shot well inside the blueline and does the fancy blind backhand to an unsuspecting partner and they never get a decent shot off. This whole team likes to play on the perimeter!!! Bloody frustrating!
  3. Booth not looking out of place at all with the twins and strong on the puck and in front of the net. Liking Wiese's game again. He seems to really be gaining confidence . Typical boring Phoenix crap hockey tough.
  4. This team (ours) doesn't look hard to play against, or tenacious, or offensively dangerous. Hope things improve for the second. Perhaps the Philly fans party claims are true.
  5. WE seem to agree that Lu had a bad game. good. As for the team scoring to help him out, last game they scored 5, that should qualify. Don't be so defensive...even Torts said the pull was at least partially due to Lu not being on. Lu isn't the problem but he is part of it. BTW - Not that it's really any of your damn business but...I'm a fan who grew up watching hockey in black and white when there was only 1 game a week on CBC. I've been a fan of the Nucks since they came into the league and have had my heart-broken each time they've made their SC run to the finals.
  6. Where did I mention the past 15 games? Why are you? Today he did not make the kind of save his opposition's goalie did and the game was out of reach (for a team struggling to score) before the 2nd period. As to why Lu should make those kind of saves, I can think of Millions of them.
  7. What do people call you? Surely after all those labels you mentioned you have one for yourself? God? the Righteous One? Grand Poobah? Talk about an internet tough guy/douche!!
  8. Even Torts acknowledged that pulling him was at least partially based on Lu's performance. I mean, 3 goals on 10 shots?!!! The defense that "those were grade A scoring chances and he had no chance doesn't wash. The difference in the game was that the Nucks had grade A chances that were stopped. That's what an NHL caliber starter does. Lu never gave the team a chance to win this one. If he stopped just one of the first 3, it could have gone differently. Not giving the forward a pass either...their lack of finish is a real problem that is getting beyond bad puck luck and has to be a lack of offensive talent. The there's Edler who is costing at least one goal per game against single-handedly. He is in no way a shut down, top minute D-man.
  9. AV took the hit for Gillis's inability to bring in the right supporting cast to the core. If this group can't get it done under Torts, it will likely be MG who gets the boot and good riddance!
  10. Agreed. I think Kevin's frustration at the end of the game was more a result of his team's play than anything to do with New York's actions.
  11. Its not how they play as much as how they don't finish. For the most part they are doing a good job defensively, in generating shots and in getting secondary scoring but their lack of NHL caliber scorers in the top 6 is letting them down. The Sedins combined for 3 shots and were minus players on the night. Edler continues to be a defensive liability and is now -14. These are the guys that get the big ice-time to be difference makers and night after night they are not getting the job done.
  12. Daniel and Hank combine for 3 shots and are minus players. The quality of shots for much of the game were not of the dangerous variety...Hansen from the top of the circle against the boards...Higgins head down shot on a 2 on 1 etc. This team's lack of finish is not just bad bounces but a lack of pure goals coring talent.
  13. Torts' "collapse" defense allows shots from the point in the belief they can be blocked by forwards and that your D can clear the front of the net. Not happening today.
  14. Bandwagon fans don't stick around and watch a losing team nor do they participate in discussion boards when their team is not the "favorite". Anyone still watching this game hoping to see something positive from the team is a die-hard fan.
  15. Daniel Sedin - 0 shots! Maybe the message Torts needs to send is to play the bottom 6 all third period and sit the top lines?
  16. Yup. Would have liked to see Shinkaruk and Horvat on the tam this year and believe they would have been effective and fun to watch. The way this team is playing, they should have no problem making the grade next year. Watching Horvat, he is already at a stage where I think he would contribute more than half our forward group. I see no reason Shinkaruk can't play a role like Pat Kane where his speed and hands make him a very effective offensive weapon despite his size.
  17. The Sedins have no speed and Kesler has no moves...how exactly are they supposed to score off the rush?
  18. Well, if NYR keeps pushing the play, it will settle the question as whether the Nucks in past years were coached to sit back with a lead or itr was an issue with the personnel. That's about the only reason to continue to follow this game now. I'll flip back and forth between the Golf and this in hopes the Nucks can create a miracle comeback.
  19. So you're different because you have a skinny ass and drink wine?!!
  20. So..... the ability to play at the same level as the players on a pro team is now a required qualification for fans to have an opinion? What a ridiculous statement!!
  21. 14 shots with only 2 from our top line and 5 from our D core. The Nucks continue to demonstrate that their forwards can't generate offense consistently.
  22. He's been getting caught cheating a lot this year. I believe it's because his lateral movement is declining. HIs overall mobility appears really poor and if he can't have time to make a positional save, he's off balance and falling frequently.
  23. Problem 1) the definition of "bandwagoner" does not apply to the comments you reference. Problem2) there are almost as many posters referring to others as "bandwagoners' after a loss as those who post the stuff you object to. Definition - Bandwagoner In sports, someone who shamelessly cheers for a particular team not because he likes them or follows them faithfully, but only because that particular team is the "popular" choice or has been or is the top team in their specific sport recently. When that team which bandwagoners follow falls from grace, they gleefully jump on the next teams bandwagon and cheer for that team.
  24. For some reason, when I read your posts, I get a vision of that little old lady who used to sit ring-side at WWF events and periodically beat a wrestler with her chair.
