  1. Oh drop the "bandwagon" BS! You've been around long enough and from your posts appear intelligent enough (most of the time) to know that fans venting or criticizing has nothing to do with what a bandwagoner is. SO tired of that over-used/mis-used label here.
  2. I sure wish he's say "we played well but need our goalie to bail us out once in awhile" Then Lu can say "We need to score more goals". Then the fun can begin and this team can start to deal with its demons..
  3. You're absolutely right. My mistake Lu's sv% was .846. Absolutely acceptable. The Kings D made lots of mistakes too that's how the Nucks got 40 shots. The difference was Scrivens stopped 95% of them. Get over your Lu hard-on.
  4. PP demonstrates why our offense is anemic. No-one capable of beating anyone 1 on 1 and if they somehow try and succeed, the immediately pass it off the side boards or below the goal line. Weak-ass offensive skill. embarrassing.
  5. Sestito was a scoring machine in junior. Maybe he's the answer for our top 6. Kind of like a Penner who crashes and bashes creating space but who can score too. Can't be any worse than our current crop of plugs up there and it's entertaining..
  6. IF we have toe watch the team lose, it would be far more entertaining to watch Bo, Gaunce, shinkaruk, Archibald etc instead of Sestito, Weise, Booth etc.
  7. They'd be great in the east but they are not built for the west, nor do they play an effective style for the west.
  8. Could also mean he's injured...or waived...or traded...or going hunting.
  9. So you believe in participation awards? This isn't grade 8 field day. It's pro hockey played by guys making millions of dollars. Yes the guys are trying and making an effort so that's not the issue. Still the organization is failing. AQ should have allowed for a Lu buy-out last year but got cheap and that will haunt this team for years to come. MG hasn't brought in any impact players to address the lack of top 6 caliber forwards. etc.
  10. Gillis has made good and bad moves but the trending of the team tells the real story of his failure as a GM :2011- SCF; 2012 - exit in first round with 1 victory; 2013 exit in first round with no victories; this year, likely miss the playoffs. Also, PP and offense has been in serious decline for 3 straight years and Gillis has done nothing but let Ehrhoff/Hodgson go while bringing in cast-offs and projects. No it's not easy but maybe it is a lot harder as no-one wants to deal with MG except those who can fleece him (New Jersey on Schneider). The team he inherited was close to a SCF contender, the team he has built can beat CBJ on a good night. If it was my company, the trend would be alarming and the GM would be on the hot seat right now. I wouldn't wait for the end of the season to make a change even if its too late for this season.
  11. Torts thinks it can win with its intensity and energy but it can't. IT is playing hard enough and they are trying hard enough to be able to generate zone time and chances but they lack the pure talent to finish the job. It has to be frustrating to work so hard to know you simply don't have the talent to overcome the better teams. LIke DeNiro said, MG needs to go. He manages this team like a newby investor...always chasing yesterday's success but never really building a solid diversified portfolio capable of performing consistently. HE started with the Detroit model, then he went for the Boston mode, then LA and now??? The team has no identity and despite their great efforts, are floundering.
  12. ..or veiled. That sounds to me like "to much focus on scoring hung me out to dry".
  13. That begs the question...how many soft goals did Crawford let in?
  14. Right...obviously they need to just score one goal sand then play a total defensive game. How is that working?
  15. They definitely are cutting down the shots against this year. Perhaps that's why the breakdowns, when they happen, are more glaring. I'm still not impressed with their breakouts though. They really seem to be slow to move the puck and appear vulnerable to a good fore-check. Turning over the puck as often as they did tonight in their own zone against Chicago will see them burned.
  16. I agree. D zone coverage and break-outs are a weak point and against better teams, will get exploited.
  17. Not blowing them out would be cause for concern. CBJ played last night and got blown out by the Oilers. They should be tired and are without 4 of there starters including their best players. The Nucks are rested and basically healthy. Still nice to see the guys score after being so snake-bitten. Tomorrow will show us if the Panthers game was an anomaly.
  18. LU moving to his left scares me. When under pressure, his only response appears to go head-first. Very fortunate twice on passes across to that side where he couldn't get across and the net was wide open! Nice to see some bounces going our way. Save some for tomorrow...we're going to need them against the Hawks.
