So many people at this board are happy about Pearson so far. If you would look at the stats, you would see that Virtanen has a higher shooting % (20 to 5,4), 2 of his 3 goals are GWG, he has 3g for 5 points (Pearson 2g for 5P) in over 5min TOI/GP less than Pearson. Virtanen has 15 hits, same as Pearson. Virt has 5 TA to 2GA (Pearson 12TA to 6GA). Don't know what you guys want to see from him. Maybe I would say the same things, IF he hasn't improved. But year after year he has improved a bit. And thats the way it is.

Wow. To hear this from Nick Lidström is awesome, he should know what he's talking about, he has play 10 seasons with Datsyuk. To have the awareness like one of the best 2-way centres this league have ever seen, it's not to shabby.

But it makes no sense to drop the gloves, if you can get a advantage through a penaltycall against your opponent. Virtanen will drop the gloves during this season, but at the right time and at the right place. So far in this season, we haven't need a fight for a hit revenge or a teammate push.

He goes under the skin of our opponents and drawing penalties. If he would take senseless fights, you would complain why he take stupid penalties and give our opponent an advantage. What about if TG have said something like this to him? "Finish your bodycheks, push and shove your opponents, go under their skin! But don't take stupid penalties for senseless fights." TG wouldn't give him playing time on the 2nd line with Bo, if he doesn't like what he has saw from him in the last games.

I became a Canuck in 1994 during the SC-Final (highlights in german TV) and #16 was just impressive. My all time favourite! But it's always hard to say all time favourite. Take a look over the last 3 decades. We've got the team of 1994, the WCE, the twins, team of 2011 and now the young guns.

In some hearts (including mine), he became a top tier true number one.

That's it! 8 points in 8 games. If he can score like this until the end of the season.. hell 82 points in his 2nd year, with much more attention from the opponents. Wait until EP40 and Brock find their ways back to the net, damn, this line will demolish some teams.

Would like to see him eager playing 20 minutes/game in the AHL, than to sit in the press-box or just playing about 10 minutes in the big league. Maybe he need a lil bit confidence to his game at the start of the season. Sutter, Beagle and even Schaller have playing him out in the first 5 games. Hard to see him in his first three games slightly struggling, after his very good pre-season. Maybe send HockeyGaud down, let him play big minutes and call him up if one of the Bottom-6 guys are struggling or not clicking to the game. JB knows what will be the best for him and the team.

If OJ plays out players like Benn, Fantenberg or Biega massively, then give him the TOP-6 Spot. If he's just slightly in a better shape, let's start him in Utica and call him up. The first injury will coming up sooner than we would like. At latest in December, I can see a injured Tanev. Promote OJ, look how he's playing and if he clicking it to the NHL-Game, trade Tanev for some Assets after his rehab.

Still love his signing! Such a role model player and exactly what this young team needs. Hopefully he'll be healthy the most time of the season.

I can't see a trade without a prospect or a pick, to get rid of Eriksson. The only possible destination I could see for him, with this contract is Ottawa. So I've a lot of doubts that JB gonna trade picks or prospects too, just to get this contract out of our books. I think he's getting sent to Utica too, but he will go back to sweden instead of playing in the AHL. Could someone tell me, if he choose to go back to Sweden is his salary still counting against the cap?
