He's one of those players you hate to play against but man when you have a guy like him on your team you play a couple inches bigger and 10 lbs heavier with him on the ice
That's it. Absolutely.

Hated him, while he was playing in Calgary. He was public enemy #1 in VAN.
Love this signing. Bad ass with a scoring-touch.

I have no worries about Boeser, getting 25 or 30 goals , I do have a problem with Benning signing Motte before Bess, after all he is the more important player and we have more forwards than we need right now.
Why should he wait w/ other contract extension, only because BB hasn't signed yet?! Maybe he should've wait to sign FA, because of BB.

I guess, if we stay healthy we end in the top 3 in the pacific and we'll see playoff-hockey in April'20.

He's going to Phoenix July 1st. Book it. This whole situation smells like Phoenix. With most of the money paid and the $6 mil cap hit, he'll be paid like an affordable middle 6 forward. We could even get a mid round pick out of the deal. Anyone believe Phoenix is gonna get in on free agency in a hard core way? Probably not. That's not how they operate.
Buffalo, Minny, Isles and NYR have a way more cap-space. I don't see him to play a another year in the West.

Schenn brought some much needed stability, calmness and grit to the D this season. IMHO, he's well-deserving of being resigned if only for the short-term
Absolutely. I was really surprised. Would like to see him another 1-2y if he can compete like last season.

As much as I liked Granlund and Hutton, we need some big changes on this team, JB knows it and he's making them. The core is just about set. The Miller trade shows he's got balls, now he's cutting some guys who have been around for years and just haven't been good enough. Will be interesting to see who he's got in mind to replace them. Granlund is an easy replacement (Gaudette, Miller at C) but by losing Pouliot and Hutton we desperately need some more decent defencemen.
They (along with Gudbranson) were terrible at times and obviously our 3 worst compared to the better guys like Edler, Stetcher and Tanev, but we need to replace 3 D now up and down the lineup. Ideally one top-4, one bottom pairing guy who can play 20 mins in case of injury and one depth 6-7th guy. Got to get cracking JB.
Pouliot is no loss. Hutton has no consistency. IMO we need not 3 D just 2, if we re-sign Schenn.
Edler - Tanev
Hughes - Myers?
Nemeth? - Stecher
Juolevi Schenn?
Teves Rafferty
Sautner Biega

Time for the big question
Why did he drop to 40?
Because other teams have prefered other players.

Hopefully not. We've enough LHD. I can't imagine, that JB try to sign him in the off-season. I guess he'll even try to sign Myers or Stralman instead of Gardiner..

This exactly. We need Tryamkin back and MacEwen on our fourth line. Bottom six consisting of the following works for me:
Roussel Gaudette Virtanen
MacEwen Beagle Motte
I would love to see this Bottom-6 next season. I wasn't a fan of Motte, I saw Leipsic ahead of him. But Motte outplayed Leipsic and Schaller all season long. BigZ has a great season @Utica and I guess he could make the next step upcoming season

I said JV and Goldy, package em up and ship them out
Both have been Ok this year but the current theme of the boards is to get rid of young players that aren't living up to expectations, so lets get some 2nd rounders.
Sorry but this is just digusting.
What do you expect from these guys? Goldy have the 3rd most assists and 4th most points so far and have scored 23 of his 42 Career-Points this season. The only thing is, he hasn't consistency so far.
Virt have already a career high in goals and is on the track to make career highs in assists, points and hits (91 hits so far/ 156 hits career high), too. He has just 46.9 % Off.Zone starts, have the most takeaways and w/ 15+ (TK/GV) with distance the best +/- in this category. He has improved his game consistently step by step. His only "fault" is, that we've picked him on 6th in the draft. that so many people expect to smash this league by himself.

I'm still a big fan of Edler! But IF, we are out of the PO-spot race and he would waive his NTC and we would get a huge offer for him, I would trade him and try to sign him in the off-season.
IF not.. I hope he will retire as Canuck!

Roussel is producing at almost a top 6 rate so far. He's being everything I hoped he would be.
He reminds me of Burrows, love this signing and I'm very impressed by his game so far.

What a waste of our 5th OA pick.. We should have pick Glass or Vilardi over EP40.

he's a lousy dman, it truly is, I want nothing but to see Pouliout do well and succeed, but his I believe this is his last season to prove himself. No way Juolevi makes the mistakes he does.
I think this season is his last season here in Vancouver, if he doesn't improve his game immediately. His turnovers are horrible, almost always right in front of our net.
I've always supported him, but he hasn't really improve his game in my opinion. I hope that JB involve him in a trade instead of MDZ, for a RHD.

I said, ‘Jonathan, you’re a great player. This is a setback. We’ll work through this.’”
Wow. This need much character to say this, if you're one step away from your dream to play in North-america. We got a real character guy

I just dont see Green throwing Pettersson into the 2nd line c role right away unless he absolutely kills it in the preseason. I'd hate to have that pressure break him right away.
I agree with the expected lineup but would switch Pettersson for Sutter. Id also put virtanen on his wing for the help in size and I think the two could play off each others strengths.
Roussel - Pettersson - Virtanen would be a good fit. Roussel could "teach" Virtanen how to protect a player like Pettersson. If Virtanen get in Trouble, Roussel could immediately stand up for his linemates.
