Indeed! Even though Fri is the deadline, i think they (Mostly OEL) want in done Thurs or at latest early Fri morning before free agency starts. No dragging it into late Fri.

I don't understand Arizona asking OEL to expand his list at this point. 1) he prob won't. 2) even if he did, it's prob pointless as Van & Bos will prob be dropping out to move on to other things. So really, they'll prob be no futher ahead.

Moj on 1040 just now saying a close source (prob OEL's agent) saying they are Frustrated with Arizona because they are putting more effort into trying to get them to expand their list vs trying to get a deal done with the Canucks or Bruins. And the Canucks have def put in a fair / good effort.

Exactly how i feel...too much other stuff to worry about. As much as i'd like to see him cone here with the right deal.

I'm one of the people who would like to see him come here (if the deal is right), but it needs to happen asap or forget it! Unfortunately, this isn't one of those times you can drag out trade talks...there's too many other things that need taken care of or things being held up. Basically, here's our best / final offer, take it or leave it and move on.

Totally agree! Everyone's talking about the cap issues, which i understand are an issue at the moment, but it's like people forget about the contracts coming off the books and act like they're permanent. I hope he pulls off this trade as well...def upgrades the team!

He's not perfect, but no GM is...he has made mistakes. But, you can at least credit him for the things he's done well. Overall, he's a good GM. Your post just reeks of ignorance and negativity!

Easy to say.....he'd have to want to sign here and he could very well want more money. And, there's still no guarentee we can move LE or other players. So, we sign him, but can't create the cap room. OEL wants out and we are one of two teams he wants to go to. There's a higher chance we can get OEL and move some contracts all at once. Get two birds stoned at once. Lol! OEL is a very good player and while Pietrangelo is as well, are we really gaining anything going that route, which most likely wouldn't happen anyway.

Def a fair point! But, i almost think you have to project...only because nothing is given in any aspect of hockey unfortunately. Especially players (all players) future play, contributions, points etc. Do what looks to be best (best chance to succeed) and cross your fingers. If that makes sense???

Everyone is worried a about down the road re OEL (which shouldn't be completely ignored), but the window is now or at least extremely close. He is a great player and will be for a while and if he helps the team win a cup, will that aspect even matter???
