  1. Not me. I want speeeeeeed! Granlund is a skill guy without elite speed. Or size. FTR, now that we have some street cred? The word is out, its exciting to play with Hughes & Petey! Is depth players with speed and size. Without having to overpay as we have for a few years. At least one of Markstrom, Tanev & Tofolli is not going to be re-signed.
  2. A bit embarrassing, Kevin was playing much better. But we never made intended leaps when we signed Kevin & made some other moves 3 summers ago. So we are back at it with a more balanced cap. And we would like to thank Kevin Shattenkirk for his time in Minnesota, wish him luck!
  3. You are in the Eastern Final? And I believe the way play in worked, were Division champ. With one of the deepest prospect pools by far? Eichel & Hischier as top young players... Bad Moon on the rising! If we are collecting GM of the year votes again? I still vote for you. @Watermelons a close 2knd. A great year Salter!
  4. In all seriousness, thanks for a good series. But it is the life of a Fantasy GM. We backed some of the wrong teams. Our depth disappeared fast. And you won fair & square. We are just learning still. Needs to be said > thanks for the year! For having me back. You and all the GM's, execs, thanks!
  5. Master Mind, doing a jig. I see u baby? Shakin thaat ass///
  6. The Canucks have a skill team. The Knights had a lot of physical match up advantages. I was proud of Pettersson's efforts. Hughes's speed unleashed at times? Was held in check others. Myers held his own. Tanev battled. Our goalies, especially Demko was amazing. But Vegas won with enough bigger guys getting to pucks, getting to corners. At the same time as our smaller guys & winning battles. So they had the puck a lot more often. We had enough skill we almost won while getting outplayed. Still almost scored enough. We have to get bigger and faster on our bottom 6, bottom pair. Win a few more battles. Get to a few pucks faster.
  7. The Yardbirds, Small Faces. Best if not biggest 60's bands. And Tommy James...
  8. You are correct about the $3.4 cap hit. Cheers for that, I had already factored raises for Schenn, Scandella & Faulk, And when I added Pietro, Dunn, Husso & Kostin. It actually covered 20 + those four = 24 players. Plus $425K in potential bonuses. That is what CapF had... The $2 mill mistake on what the buyout cost is 1/2 offset by that extra body. More or less. Plus someone, usually 2 to 3 players are always injured. It would still be sufficient. Not that it will play out that way...
  9. Won't you come? And wash away the rain... A stunning tribute.
  10. I bet $5 they buy out Steen! $5.5 mill cap hit, just one year left which actually only owes $3.5 mill. Real cost $2.67 mill (2/3rds of $3.5) over 2 years. Cost $1.83mill cap hit x 2 years. Savings year one $3.67 mill. Jake Allen $4.35 + Steen $3.67 = $8.02 mill off the books. Plus Pietrangelo's current $6.5Mill salary. They will have roughly $13.0 mill to sign Dunn & Pietrangelo. ( i accounted two additional entry level contracts for Ville Husso & Kliim Kostin he logical call ups ) I do not think Dunn will cost $5 mill...
  11. Lets just say he would get taken. And he has an NMC. He could pick his team... Imagine the Oilers, not that they have the cap space with Price? Colorado who do???
  12. NVM Schultz . Its a bit tragic we could not sign this kid? Big right handed D who can skate. Bomb of a shot, a nose for making the right play. Hits...
  13. Edmonton has as much as $35 mill cap. Taking on cap dumps free of charge in Oil city. Anchors that may drag the ship for more than 2 years will cost a little bit...
  14. Staal? Worth us the wrong word. He has an NMC. They have to protect him.
  15. Boston's Crosby was quoted as saying: "I would never let my kids play hockey. The chances of being drafted by the Oilers is too high"
  16. I like Borough I dont know where he fits as a LHD? Hughes Edller Rathbone / Juolevi Benn I like the idea. But would completely block our young players from making their way to the rink...
  17. Mike Gillis, from the outside looking in? Seemed to have some gaps in personal leadership. Took some things for granted, because he did other things exceptionally well. A fantastic strategic mind, very structured systems of support and development. At his best, he targeted and won player contracts, trades that exactly hit the mark. What was missing, or went wrong? He took some bigger risks, and spent fairly wantonly. Which left him short of trust from Aqualinni, who still had to pay Luongo, AV, Torts. Although Torts is rumored to be a stroke of FAQ's? Possibly when his faith in Gillis was low. And we were short on picks, overspent on cap. But he still presented as the man who won the GM of the year. It maybe rubbed some people the wrong way? Regardless, exceptionally capable. A more humbled Gillis, one who let a hockey guy run the draft? Would probably be a great hire. A lawyer & teacher. He might be a better team president than GM...
  18. I had not looked through the lock down? But I dont believe he has missed a game since 2008. Is his iron man streak still going? Or did he miss a game in the stretch drive... Its frickin amazing what he has done!
