LOL. When I first arrived in Aus 13, 14 years ago? My friend Jason says mate! We're going to an outdoor show. Tex Perkins, Hoodoo Guru's, Killing Heidi, Doc Neeson. I said who fluck are they? I have to be honest. I dont remember much of the show. It was that kinda night. There are some large venue pubs here in Melbourne that get bands like HG's, The Angels (no more Doc, Dave Gleeson), James Reyne, Nick Cave, Steve Kilby from the Church (he's magic), Baby Animals, Screaming Jets. Just 400 metres up Springvale rd from where we live, stumbling distance or 4 KM south more commonly. Last we saw was Diesel. ^ I have seen Paul Kelly do the Girls on the Avenue...

This was Byron. I saw the week before on West Coast. This girl is so beautiful. I moved away a month later.

Awesome! So long since I heard this song, 30 years?

Your an Aussie aren't you? LOL, I had a raucous time once with Casey, her husband Shane & her dad. We saw them at a festival in Perth. Elbowe'd fiercely for an hour or so to watch them front row. It was an enjoyable show. Cant recall who was next, Sinead O'Connor? There was Casey and Shane making their way to the front in between acts. Where we had remained, really waiting for next in line > John Fogherty? Them too... So we watched a show and locked elbows to stay front row, taking turns holding position, shouting each other drinks, bathroom breaks. When push came to shove, Casey, she was joking, promised my father in law anything he wanted. Hinting sex act, tickets, to take his place front row. And they wrestled for position. He never did let her in front. It was fun. She went NUTS when Fogherty came on, who was very poor BTW... She hugged and humped like a dog on a leg. Trying to climb over him, get on stage, offering to have John's baby. Shane just rolled his eyes. He did get a signed CD. But my mother in law always wonders why he has her picture on the ceiling of the bedroom? It could be his favorite all time story... Here is a nice cut;

Chicago traded Jokiharju, a very promising prospect. A RHD, even more rare at that. For Alex Nylander. Whom seemed pretty stalled in his development. Reason? They had great depth in prospect D. Chicago still have both A class & blue chip right handed prospects left. Several lefties as well, less our need. I do agree, the D holds better value in most circumstances. But at the the end of the day? You cannot hold guys back forever if you don't have room for them. How long can Carolina bury Jake Bean? LA could trade one of Bjornfot, Clague or Brickley. Trades? It happens...

Meh. I was saying ''why has no one taken Nic Hague yet?''

I'll leave the artificial insemination to you, if that's ok? I've been pretty keen on keeping both these guys. Never really overindulged in trying to asset manage the team. By signing Toffoli and trading young players. > Boeser because I believe in his potential. > Jake partly because part of his value gets smeared in a bad rap? >> Jake really because I believe his type of athleticism an underlying catalyst for the team. >>> Truth be known I don't really want to trade Hogz either! For the exact same reason. Even if he never becomes a top scorer. But the counter to your otherwise valid point? A D prospect on an ELC's contribution will be just as valid as a FWD prospect/ I agree we will be losing some vets. My own view is I'd prefer to keep Tanev & walk Toffoli & Leivo. Let Hogz grab one spot. Markstrom I would also like to keep. That would require more salary. Buying out Baer? Winning the lotto with Loui retiring? But if Tanev leaves. And I suspect he might? Then maybe you keep Toffili. And trade a that rookie fwd for a rookie RHD. It sorta boils down to how the pins fall.

So right now, it seems obvious we have had success via & including the scouting department. Benning has has taken on board enough input that we have success. That is his job? This debate is silly///stop it! Benning is not Trump. He does not say ''I think'' and go against the advice of his advisors. He says ''we think,'' or ''we thought,'' or ''we liked'' when talking about the teams prospects. And he gives them credit, says we could afford to trade Tyler Madden because we still had a strong prospect pool. Nor call it fake news as Burke seems to be doing. Brackett has been a part of that successful scouting department. No harm in him looking for a GM or other job before he signs a contract. In the meantime he is still working for us. I hope we keep him! But I am sure there will be another match if not. I also recall Benning asking Brackett if he wanted extra picks deep in the draft 2 years ago? So we trade, i think it was a 4th to Chicago for two picks. I recall Brackett saying there was still lots of guys they liked, Benning taking it on board. They sat at the draft table together.

3 years x $5.2 to $5.4 may be a fair offer by Van, protect in expansion? We dont have to protect Edler or Hughes. Say protect Myers, Juolevi & Tanev in expansion. 4 years or $6 mill, or more, starts to sound similar to Eriksson being signed at too high a value and term... I'd prefer to pay Tanev $5.5 than Toffoli $6.5 or $7.

Or a top prospect. For similar top D prospect. Hoglander for?

[Signing] Canucks sign Nils Hoglander

Ok, point taken. Personally, I am enthused by two key things; > That the kid is a ferocious battler. > the sheer stamina, strength and athleticism. That's all I have been able to catch streaming Euro games. It is enough I am excited. The scouts agree with you. There is lots of underlying skill Yak style. They know about it. It was on show against his own age bracket at the WJC. -

Maybe? I see Toffoli as the logical casualty of a Covid reduced salary cap. It was even likely before Corona virus. A classic rental. As good as Tofu was / has been? Tanev, or a Tanev replacement is a much bigger need. For exactly the reasons of depth you mention. -
Holy cow! You got real credit; @aGENT is usually the most liberal beer provider on CDC. Happy to shout any & everyone a glug for participation in a thread. But tongue in cheek. Usually actually hinting guys just drink too much when they comment... Praise indeed!

This is interesting about Tanev? I presumed, and my observation was he gets squished a lot less with Hughes as the primary puck retriever. As much as Tanev is fast. QH offering the lightning quickness to get to pucks untouched. Get it & get it out! Rather than absorb the punishment Chris did retrieving pucks. I wonder what his blocked shot total was; down? My other observation is he spent a lot more time up ice, with Quinn having either retrieved, or even lugging it up himself. Greatly reducing blocked shots. We also got to see some offence. Hughes even calling Tanev under rated offensively? Less shoulder and rib problems from absorbing punishing hits from fore checking forwards. Less fractured legs, swollen skate feet, bone bruising and battering from pucks fearlessly using his body to get in front of. Less errant sticks and pucks breaking his teeth, or concussing in front of the net. I thought a great deal of his health was related to being partnered with Quinn Hughes.

I have a embarrassed admission? I always liked Rush, but never got caught up in them. Bought & played my first Rush cd ever just after Neil passed away. Not once before had I ever put ther work in any gear of mine. LOL, went overboard. Bought 3 boxed sets. I like their anthems, their musical intelligence. Just never got caught up in their message. I drive every day, been playing them non stop over a month now? Every day. I like some of their softer passage songs best, dont even think Neil plays in this song from Fly by Night;

Problem is this? Most of these guys who are around 25? We only get 2 years, maybe 3. Thats not worth Boeser. Talent wise, physical ability; I'm happy with Ristolainen. But you have to get them to add a first. The best guys? McAvoy, Provorov, Werenski. We would have to add. I see us losing Tanev. Picking up the best upper mid tier UFA RHD we can find; Hamonic, Barrie, Vatanen. I am envious of Carolina, who STOLE Brady Skjei fro NYR.

Rafferty is faster, in agility & speed. Not sure he is as composed. Not that Juolevi is stout defensively? He looks better defensively to me. Jack shoots better than both. Guess we'll see?

Ooooh, ouch... Not sure I agree. Nor should we expect him to play more than a handful of games in Utica. He's already been a battler and 3rd line role player in a league against full sized men for 2 years. Very different than Yak tearing up leagues against 17 & 18 year old players in the OHL as an offensive stud. No Nucks? Let Nils have a crack at top line in Sweden. Its a good league. That he has been a battler, a feisty one at that, means he can probably fill a role on our roster if that is what he has to do for the Nucks. Yak never had to deal with that? Was never ready to take that on. -
Who is better, Jerry? Or buddy bad ass??
