[REPORT] - Wild threaten to trade more players
Canuck Surfer replied to grandmaster's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
We had that problem 2 & 3 years ago. Draft well enough, and it can be overcome? But yes a problem. Minny can really use a lotto pick, maybe 2? And one that hits. I am not cheering for them. Rather see any Canadian team beat them. -
[Proposal] Gaudette for Ristolainen
Canuck Surfer replied to Kanukfanatic's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
Gaudette is appreciated in Vancouver. But we have been spoiled; Boeser, Hughes, Pettersson. Gaud is having an excellent rookie season. On track for an 82 game equivilent of 45 points. Fabulous if ypu consider he was a 5th rounder. Normally 45 pooits would have our town going nuts. Peter Schaefer had scuttlebutt acclimation as rookie of the year in Vancouvers pubs, and basements when he scored 31 points. AG is a bit underhyped for sure! I would still trade him for Risto, if they would? -
Assignment: Rasmis Asplund to West Coast Eagles LTIR Activation: Nick Paul @canuck2xtreme with thanks as always!

Hey Phil. You have been critical of the pushback lately. Was that better? 1st Gaudette. Did Pearson get in a fight? Or was that last game. Who I came here to talk about is Benn! I understand Green is more qualified than I, and likes Fantenurg. I like Benn! A goal and several shots last game. The 2knd goal enjoyed some nice passing afterwards. Benn absolutely LEVELLED Caguila. And took the puck off him at the line. Started the passing with Roussel & Suteer in what became a tap in goal for Gaudette. I also saw Benn bear hug and face wash Kobalik. For poking at the puck under Marky's glove. Dude was not going to challenge him. And near put Smith through the boards. Fantenburg hits. But Benn hurts people.

Thanks C2X, also Snowflake & Marcus. We had kind of a dilema. 4 goalies who honestly deserve a roster spot. We always feel its important to get guys who deserve a roster spot a chance to play! We wish you luck.

Our last pick 2019 draft, 5th round... BUF – The best goaltender in the USHL is Dubuque’s Erik Portillo. The 6-foot-6 University of Michigan commit has already won goalie of the week honors twice in the league and leads the circuit in goals-against average (1.94) and save percentage (.922) for the top-end Fighting Saints.

[REPORT] - Wild threaten to trade more players
Canuck Surfer replied to grandmaster's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
He could be a value contract for someone. Retread... Might as well be Minny? They have an advantage of a good coach. In a situation where he can play him. With less reservaion than Sullivan. -

What dyu think of the trade? I have debated the Minny D with you before. Agreeing they had a great top 4. Weak depth was my input. I really like their addition of Addison. Maybe 2 years away. But they needed some skill in their prospect base as well on D. -

Breaking news! F Mark Jankowski has 4 points in his last 5 games! True story! And, uhm, 5 points all year. TSN Dipsnit Farhan Waljiwave riding bro of lead hand Canuck Surfer says his name has come up as a cap hit balancer, for, well, effectively no cost in bigger deals!!! He, uhm, also a true story had 14 and 17 goal seasons the last two years! Plug your nose & stay tuned!

Corey Crawfords ream needs a shot of whoop ass, not whooped ass? He has faced 176 shots his last 5 games. I have not watched Chi. Is it the Seabroke effect? In any case. Superlative 0.938 save %. 50% retained, any draft pick buys some veteran tending down the stretch. If your lucky he'll land on a post season team. Edit, team! Not ream...
-
Markus Hogberg for the real life Senators; 149 saves in 163 shots his last 5 games. Ladies & Gentleman that is a 0.918 save % behind a suspect team defence! Faced 50 shots one game. And won behind suspect goal support. Good young G available for a 3rd round pick or progressing forward prospect / young player Nobody takes us up? We'll have to make room for him in our line up!

Yeah, we disagree. Dont we? I think what we need Gaudette for is 2 & 3 years from now, When we dont have Bragle or Sutter. Our internal succession plan has Madden & Karlsson behind Gaudette. I dont see that pipeline as a position of strength sufficient to move Gaudette.
-
Gaudette is 1/2 a point a game. Which above average 3C production / secondary scoring. That will actually come easier. And maybe he is challenged to play defence? But he's on his way. He made the team on the back of his motor. The guy is always skating, always checking, always battling. Easy to like. He'll learn to take face off's. He'll learn to not get left in his jock strap by McDavid, by Crosby. He has the work rate, the pride in his performance, the compete inside himself. And he is improving. Its just a matter of time!

There is no option to send Gaudette to Utica anymore. Would have to clear waivers. I dont believe he would. https://www.capfriendly.com/players/adam-gaudette Bit of a test, yes this pickle on the wing. But we added Miller & Ferlund in summer. We have some series veteran options in Utica; Baertschi, Goldobin, we called up MacEwen. Lind is approaching at least a look? Its even worth mentioning Hoglander is in his 2knd SHL year against men. If his team does not go deep, could be signed & would make a serious injection of agility, talent.

[Signing] Rangers sign Artemi Panarin
Canuck Surfer replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I campaigned for Panarin so hard! No, we probably would not have been this good, this year. Not just because of Miller? He's been great! Better than I expected. But because an imperfect, I agree, Myers is still a slick, fast, 6'8'' defenceman. He makes mistakes. But we're absolutely better anyway. He also makes plays. He is also 220 lbs. Think two years & four years ago having Bartkowski, Weber, Philip Larsen, Phillip Holm... When we had sh!t to sign 2knd or 3rd pair D men? It would have been worth it. With Patty Kane & Kucherov, Panarin is speeeeed like Hughes, personified. With electric agility, as wicked a sniper, dangler as exists on the wing anywhere in the planet.. I can just imagine the breakouts with Hughes, Petey & Panarin. Oooucch! I get shivers. Not sure how we would have gooten the size and speed we needed on D? Tryamkin? Probably would need better... Wait for Juolevi, a new draft pick? Rogers would have been a raccetrack like we never, have ever seen. Bure never was not gifted a centre like Petey, a D like Hughes... It would have been ridiculous. Three guys who can handle, and dangle, trade saucers & one timers at that pace? -
Couple of good & bad points toda for Boston? Congratulations to Martin Fehervary on his call up & first NHL point, an assist tonight! Better yet, we made room for him in the line up to take advantage of it! Martin was our 4th round pick 2019. Its fantastic to get your 4th rounders in! Questionable if he has top upside? But blasted past several big name `1st rounders on the depth chart to be considered Wash's best defensive prospect! We 're pleased. Trouble? Are walking wounded or sixk, is now back up to 1/2 a dozen players. Including some of our best. We may have to hang on a string for a while. Oe nake trades! My inbox is open...
