So Pekka Rinne scoring a goal today is a compelling storyline? Busop trumped it though. A win, a shutout, and an assist. 19 Points tonight! Made twice as godd because @Art Vandelay had Afdin Hill in goal tonight!

I stayed a summer in Calgary, just summer. Lived in Sherwood Park just short of 4 years. My memory of Calgary was an early Sept schnook, when it was 25 degree's earlier in the day. I was always amazed. I don't ever recall the temperature in Edmonton go up above 23 degree's. Always stuck at 21 or 22, There was never, ever, a hot sunny day? Summer was hazy. The grass never got better than luke brown. What was worse? I also lived in Winnipeeg, 20 years, but that was better. Colder, yes. The winter in N Alberta starts arriving 3 weeks earlier. Give or take the 12th, 15th or 18th October. And sticks. In Winnipeg, one snow before Halloween. But washed away by rains. Permanent snow and cold Nov 15th or 18th? Some years gone by April 1st. Usually the week of Easter. The crocus bubs I grew bloomed at Easter. Followed quickly by Dafodils not until the queens birthday in Edmonton when the snow finally fades. I also recall driving down Calgary Trail in snow. Through Red Deer where there were patches of on high land. With clear farm fields as I arrived to watch a play off game at the Saddledome. That extra 300 km's North. Winter comes three weeks earlier, leaves 3 weeks later. I recall to this day arriving to live in Edmonton Oct 15 to live. In a blistering snow storm at minus twenty, forty with windchill. Its that extra time that winter is around, which makes it so hard to bear. My Aussie wife, new baby in hand, did not leave the home for 6 months. -

Where are you now? Was it Steinbach, Selkirk? Whats in Grimsby? Aside from Bieksa's mum. There are some nice town in S Ontario. I really like London. And its colder, another hour or three North. My sister stays summers near Parry Sound on Georgian Bay. Its stunning! -

Calgary is a nice city. Very world class, great economy. An hour & 20 minutes from Banff. Better weather than Edmonton, Winnipeg. -

That has been coming for a while. Great with Gio, not so great otherwise. He was in never / never land when they had Hamilton. Maybe, just maybe, even likely? They will be sellers this deadline? Even likely... Hamonic & Brodie would make up a LOT of the 1st rounders they expended in recent years. While they still have Razzy, Hanifin, Lindholm, Johnny Hockey & (cough) Monahan. A quick retool. And they could be relevant for a while! Might be a tad optimistic. But yes, a good overall player. Be interesting to see if, long term, its Valimaki or Hanifin with Andersson. Both on the top line, and who gets PP time. I suspect they will again hit the market, or draft for a real PP QB. I agree Andersson has a nice shot. He has speed. I am not sure it is explosive. I also question if he has the puck dexterity and vision of a true PP QB? A great 2knd round pick regardless. They also got Kylington then by memory. Not as effective, but still helpful. Curious if he has any upside to surface. He scored a hat trick when sent to Stockton in November. -
This is a great answer. I will leave it with u...

Maybe we are worthy? We have three of the worlds top 5 prospects, the top two in fact according to TSN; Plus # 15 Alex Turcotte & #38 Nolan Foote. #Betterdaysahead...

[Discussion] - Value of Michael Dipietro

In any case? I dont believe just because Tampa had a poor relationship with Connor Ingram. That DiPietro would also be worth fodder in a trade? Nor do I agree with the OP, that there is a mountain of momentum by which we can get a premium for Dipietro. Or that we should? I certainly don't believe it is JB's style to trade a prospect. We took years developing Thatcher Demko. For that matter, Jacob Markstrom. For all the angst in Vancouver, we have shown similar patience with Jake Virtanen. Patience! I fully expect us to do the same with DiPietro. Who is on a logical succession plan to cover circumstance surrounding Seattle expansion. That is about the time I would envision him being ''NHL ready'' if all goes to plan, and its on its way... -

I really like your response. But it was less structured, more under the surface than your description. And this agent's description? It was after articles like the following were written? He was leading the AHL in save % at the time of his demotion. Although this 2knd article acknowledges the rotation. If anything it suggests they were unhappy with Ingram, in spite of playing well, creating the circumstance where he was being rotated; ''The curious case of Connor Ingram?" https://theathletic.com/879236/2019/03/20/behind-the-mysterious-demotion-of-top-lightning-goalie-prospect-connor-ingram/ http://insideahlhockey.com/article/the-curious-case-of-connor-ingram https://www.eprinkside.com/2019/3/28/ahl-on-the-road-the-strange-connor-ingram-situation YES, IT IS STRANGE Let’s cut to the chase – the Tampa Bay Lightning-Connor Ingram situation has grown increasingly strange (caught in the middle of it all are the Syracuse Crunch, as legitimate a Calder Cup contender as any AHL team, and the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears). To recap Ingram’s past three months: in an excellent 40-save road effort against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on December 21st, he sustained a lower-body injury that kept him out of the Syracuse line-up for the next five weeks. Fortunately for the Crunch, they had a reliable option in Eddie Pasquale, and other than a brief dip in January, they kept on plowing forward. Ingram then returned on January 26th and played seven of Syracuse’s next 10 games. He put up a .918 save percentage in those games and even tossed in a pair of shutouts. He also was part of the Syracuse contingent at the AHL All-Star Classic at the end of January. However, after a February 18th road game against the Toronto Marlies, he made only one appearance thereafter, a relief effort for Pasquale on February 26th. The following weekend he was a healthy scratch through an entire 3-in-3 set. Martin Ouellette took his place in the Syracuse line-up after being recalled from Orlando, Tampa Bay’s ECHL affiliate, on February 28th. The day after that 3-in-3 weekend, March 4th, Ouellette was returned to Orlando. Some eyebrows had already been raised. After all, much of this came amid the NHL Trade Deadline on February 25th and the AHL roster deadline on that same March 4th. Still, everything comes under even closer scrutiny around those deadlines. But from there is where the saga went into overdrive, particularly in a month in which the Crunch had already embarked on a stretch of 16 games in 30 days. On March 6th, the Lightning demoted Ingram to Orlando and recalled Ouellette. Lightning general manager Julien BriseBois told Syracuse Post-Standard beat writer Lindsay Kramer that the decision to send Ingram to Orlando was an “internal matter.” Quite worth noting amid all of this is that Ingram had been an AHL All-Star five weeks earlier in addition to ranking first in the AHL in save percentage (.922), second in goals-against average (2.26), and first in shutouts (six) on the day that he was sent to Orlando -

There was some substantial, not exactly explained fallout with Yzerman & the Bolts. By memory he was having a near all star AHL season. Then was suddenly banished to the ECHL. I think even someone elses affiliated team. And dumped for said 7th rounder. It was like he committed some atrocity of faith with the team. Like Kassian being dumped by Montreal? Or us. Except like with us, never announced was the actual issue. -
My own guess is Lundqvist may get a $6 mill goalie coaching contract? Which they dont have to declare. And retire... But they could trade Georgiev. He is a good goalie!

And as for the WJC? Reasonable showing by our team! Congrats to; Grigori Denisenko; 6th in scoring & a silver medal. Alexander Romanov 4th in defence scoring, all tournament team & a silver medal. Nolan Foote a Gold Medal & top line performer! Ivan Morozov who had 3 points & a silver medal. Commiserations to our American representative Alex Turcotte, who like the rest of the Americans had a sulky tournament! LOL. we thought we made kind of a desperation pick when we drafted Nolan Foote? Wicked, wicked shot!

Minnesota, with the unfortunate Cancer recovery of forward Oskar Lindblom? Is a bit short in forward firepower. Goalies Mackenzie Blackwood, or John Gibson available for forward help.
