Elite Keeper League 2019/2020 -[4 GM Positions Available]
Canuck Surfer replied to Relyt Krets's topic in Fantasy Hockey
Eberle is also back for us in Florida. We did not have a body to call up. So we never bothered to put him on the IR. If Ladd has anything in him, with some luck its two middle 6 wingers to help get started back up the ladder! If we are a bit more lucky? Eberle resumes a top line role... But at this stage Andrew Ladd may be destined for a depth role. We will see how it pans out? -
My boy, prospect Kale Clague looking interesting in LA's farm system. Last year 29 points as an AHL rookie D. Really good! But minus 20. This year he is just off the points pace at 6 points in 14 games. But he is now a plus 3. I know? Plus / Minus. That is going to help get you called up? I also heard he is about 5 lbs up, faster and now battling in corners. Development progressing nicely!

Your point about women in men's dressing rooms? No men in women's... Reverse discrimination your point. Does have merit. But? Men abuse women, and circumstance, far more often without getting into any words that sensationalize the difference. I do believe it is the correct thing that men should not be in a women's dressing room as a result. It is actually a different argument.

Lets not joke about these things. And I mean that.

Meanwhile Donald Trump is still President of the worlds most powerful nation. Its hard, but he says & does waay more dumb things than Cherry. These days anyway. Too many of these type of guys are popular is my real point... Good Riddance!

Unlike a lot of players, Burrows for examplke, we actually paid Markstrom very well as he developed. We gave him a $1.5mill one way contract when he was still in minors. We gave him his current $3.7 mill contract when he was a backup. He rewarded us by developing as a starter. But we have already paid him over $10 mill. And he's only in his 2knd year as starter. That's normally when you get your first $3.7 mill... His 5th season with us, when he became starter. I would think loyalty both ways will be a factor in his next contract. I think both him & Demko will be here. I would bet he gets a 4 year deal. $5.5 ish or $6 mill? No protection clause. -

Motte is slightly less skill and agility. Petan is slick, no doubt. But half the heart. Motte is fearless, lead an NHL team in hits sub 180 lbs. Kills penalties, fore checks like a demon. ill take Motte We can also start to play Baertschi or Goldobin. Both are more advanced, if nothing else, if we want to inject skill players -

Can’t afford the Puck Father! Shame... -
It was an amazing show. Bright, sharp, jazz influenced sweet sounds from Knopfler's hand. Clapton is a wizard. No Elton John, but I swear Eric had that same dbl breasted suit. I also saw Clapton as a guest during a Dire Straights gig. Straights were so clean. Doobie Bros and Dire Straights the tightest bands I have ever seen!

I have story for this song. So I got a mortgage for my first house. And was given my first credit card. Not everybody had them at 19? 87 or 88', would have to think about it? I bought myself and some mates tickets to this tour, 8 in all. My first purchase. Knopfler toured with Eric anyway. Got the keys to my house Nov 15. My house was broken into Christmas eve. My CDC's and records, meat from the freezer, TV? And my Eric Clapton tickets, Winnipeg arena. It was going to be hard to explain to all my friends who fronted me cash. Ticket tec let us in with the credit card receipt. Great job Master Card! We watched these 8 guys moving around the show. Getting kicked out of seat after seat. Then finally they came back & tried to boot us out, showed us the original tickets. We went and got a cop at the first exit & they were arrested. Lived the house behind us, and I got a lot of my things back. But it was tense for years!

Oh yeah, back on topic. Buffalo sulks! Edmonton? I lived there for 4 years. I have to admit was not fond of it. Winnipeg? I grew up there. The lakes are further out of town than @D-Money suggests. An hour is about the closest drive from the Northern suburbs, Grand beach. But its a grassland beach. A few birch tree's and not much to see. Cold grey water. The pretty lakes are East, out of the prairies and into the Canadian Shield. 1 hour 45 minutes to West Hawk by memory, 2 hours Lake of the Woods? So pretty. Although you can surf a swarm of mosquito's at high speed. And every 50 years, the whole of southern Manitoba becomes an inland lake; That 2knd pic, 1st house on the right sure looks like my 1st house on Young St, a block from the U of W. Same neighborhood anyway. In the 90's it flooded & wrecked my basement. On the plus side you could Canoe back to Hudson Bay store, get supplies about 6 blocks South. -

Here is also the cruxt of all such debates IMO. That hospital you mentioned is probably in Buffalo, not Guelph? Like a trading port in the St Lawrence on location. I would not be the least bit shocked, if 60 or 70 % of it's clientele were from S Ontario. Overall tax burdens are about 20% less. Doctors can make more money. There is also less regulation, more treatments available because on the back of scale. Mentioned in a different context a page or so back. A public ally funded system cannot over divert funds to any one treatment that only benefits a limited amount of sick people. Let 100 get sick, to save one where there is an expensive treatment? That sorta debate. There is always a loser in prioritization. -

I'm not against people spending private money to access better health care. No problem. But I don't support, in principal, subsidizing a private hospital. Which diverts money from the public system. If you can make a business case study that you can create a hospital wholly funded by private money? Go for your life! Literally! Funding those hospitals extra money would allow the rich to double dip. I'm against that. They can already access what we have public ally. I am not against funding potentially for research? Much like University hospitals. Assuming the results are also fully available to the public system, and its constituents. Not for them to exclusively sell newly discovered treatments for a premium. The thing about private and specialty hospitals as @SabreFan1 mentioned? New York state has over 1/2 Canada's population. 19.5 million people. Such hospitals have a shot in Toronto? No hope in Regina. The spread of our population makes such institutions unviable. That Buffalo hospital is also within a 3 & 1/2 hour drive of fully another 1/3rd of Canada's population. Southern Ontario has nearly 13 million people. Aren't you in Northern BC Alf? Those don't exist for entirely economic reasons. Which is why we have, problems inclusive, a public system. -

The United States does not have a universal healthcare program, unlike other advanced industrialized countries. The U.S. health care system is unique among advanced industrialized countries. The U.S. does not have a uniform health system, has no universal health care coverage, and only recently enacted legislation mandating healthcare coverage for almost everyone. Its not me generalizing. Its Washington? -

Things are an economy of scale as well. I also don't portend to be a doctor. My wife is. Stage 4 is a cancer that has spread significantly. Where and in what form it has spread is vastly more important. also what damage has been done to what organs, body systems to survival rates. Than simply being marrow cancer. Or a different type. Cost of treatment is always a factor. And if Buffalo has a factory that can offer the service to whomever can pay? Fantastic. Are they taking in the black kid from the projects? Or the guy with health insurance. Or cash as a wall street financier? I can tell you, their business model is not built on that black kid from the projects. Someone else mentioned, US bankruptcies from health costs patients could not pay? -

Public hospitals in the US, health care in general does not have anywhere near the same reach & funding as Canadian. Universal health care has been an in demand topic people like Obama tried to provide. -

Nice that she had the resources. And I am happy she made it, honestly! It is a horrible story. I don't doubt it happened. I have a friend here in Australia where I now live. Went to Russia for bone marrow treatment which saved her life. It costs hundreds of thousands, not low hundreds either, in our system. She paid a fraction and sold her house to fund it regardless. My observation is the sheer cost of such treatments? Which have a lower % chance of success sometimes are simply not offered due to the overwhelming cost pressure it puts on everyday needs of a public system. An alcoholic with a bad liver won't get treated in Canada either. But transplants are available in other parts of the world, including the US, if you have money. That's not the reality for most US citizens. Where stories of being bashed in gang violence? And being refused treatment to set & cast a broken arm happen. Unless you have cash! It is a more common story. Everyday health care remaina a luxury we have as a whole as Canadians, compared to many parts of the world. -

Funny thing? Award wage in the US is sh!t. And in cities like NY it is said that on any day there are a million illegal immigrants for 1/2 mimimum wage, or less. In brothels, sweat shops, factories, waiting tables for nothing more than tips. But in cities with sometimes 40 million people. Cheap wages & a large market mean that you can earn $250K in all kinds of businesses & jobs. That would pay half that in even Toronto or Vancouver. There used to be a kooky reality tv show about some dumb white kid with a gold tooth & expensive suit making a small fortune selling luxury cars in Las Vegas. I saw a doco loosely based on the Jeffersons, which underlined that more millionaires were created running local dry cleaning businesses than any other at one time? The sheer size of the markets, the money being thrown around by the large industrial, and money market economies? Its what fuels the land of opportunity. -

Depends which fantasy? Blocked shots & hits count in some leagues. I suppose here it could be a fair statement? I read Gryzelcyk was going to be a healthy scratch the other day. Even with Kevan Miller & Moore out. And has just 2 points. But he did play? Carlo has 6 points & is playing 4 or 5 minutes a game more.. The math is pretty simple; MG played top 4 but Xarlo has the role back? -

Vancouver has been rated the top city in the world at times. And I'm not surprised Calgary has rated as well. They factor things like public facilities, education, recreation, health care, income & job opportunities, transport. It is a different world for players, who have the resources for private education, private hospitals which are world class in the US. It is not the same for working class families in the US. At all! In some areas, Detroit, Tacoma, Washington DC, rural Mississippi, Indianapolis these things are abysmal. But that is not what is reflected in this poll. There are largely better opportunities in the US for wealthy people.
