Nick Bonino, barring a change in scoring, with the hat trick tonight! Gotta wear shades! -
[Signing] Josi extended 8 years

He could suggested that to some of his D in Edmonton? I don't disagree with this statement. But Hitchcock was becoming less, and less relevant as the years passed by... Wasy for him to say what Nashville was doing well. But he could not? -
Congratulations to Adam Fox on his first career NHL goal!

Svechnikov won the Carolina / Calgary games with a similar goal today in Carolina.

What did Toronto receive? -
Say what you will about Loui? Look at him. He is ripped, fit! Roger a few posts back made a great comment. He's no longer getting caught up saying the wrong things. He's saying the right things. As is the coach about him? He's a Canuck. I am going to support him as well... I take a lot of confidence in Green in how he is handling the goalies. Marky came back from (Sweden? was he back home?) his personal time. Thre him right back in. He played well? Gave him a second game! Had a bit of less effective game against Washington. Was asked about that by a reporter? No, its more about where he is at ''physically, mentally. We're going to give him a bit of a reset!'' And ''I have a lot of xonfidence in Demmer!'' Demko also has been playing well. Without throwing Demko under the bus, they are rewarding guys, creating opportunities for guys to be rewarded! Well done Green!

Its definitely a ''pile on the Leafs'' thread. Based on it's headline. Just like we hate centre of the universe media articles about how good they are at rebuilding. Sensationalizing Leaf hate was this thread. Compassion? They were in a play off position at the time of the thread. Are now a day or so later. With a team anchored by exciting young players. Good goaltending. Have a Norris candidate on their D. Who, by the way, was skipped when mentioning any credible defenders. You picked only Muzzin. Not on their death bed. Far from it. I would agree with the portions of content that question if their depth and defence is enough to carry them deep into the post season. I don't have them going deep. I don't see them as Laffing stock. -
I’ll be in tonight

Anyone in need of backup goaltending? We've got three good ones! Take your pick; Trustan Jarry, Crag Anderson & Linus Ullmark. In more seriousness, Boston on the hunt for a legit starting goalie. Have two first round draft picks.

Read CDC, even 1/2 way through the 2knd period of a game we're losing? We have the same scrutiny. The same fans who are fed up? Fuelled the intense media pressure to immortalize sign these guys. And need to realize they need to draft and develop some defense & depth. They can't sign their way to the upper echelon, the cap is already spent. But in any case, they remain a good mid level team. Probably destined for a 3rd place or wildcard finish. It ain't the end of the world. -
[Rumour] Senators trying to trade for forward
Canuck Surfer replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I'm sure I read, and I have no doubt Benning tried to trade a winger pre-season? Before he put Baertschi & Goldobin on waivers. What makes you think we'll get more now? More than the nothing we received pre-season. Hell, I imagine Jim probably may have been happy had some team claimed Baer. Aquaman surely would have been happy; he has to pay him to be in the minors. For me, if the market was zero's across the board? Its just as well we have some injury depth. But if there is a market, sure I'll be on board with a trade. I just feel it would have been done already. Its actually odd that we only have one player hurt ATM. Edit, Roussel plays mostly LW by the way. Not that it changes much. -

Send Gaudette to minors. Math solved. Good for his development, in comparison to sitting, as well? -

Their 12 points is good for 3rd place in 3 divisions, tied for 3rd in ours with us. Burn down the Canucks, fire the coach, sell Bennings shares in grandchildren... Hate thread will be a hate thread, as much as I agree TOML's are not the best run joint in the competition. Minnesota DOES NOT have the depth to trade a top 4 D. They would implode. -
Meh, couple extra guys both teams still going. Got excited…

Good battle between myself and @inane We have 5 of 6 D rolling for points tonight including rookies Hronek & Heinola, Inane with Horvats hatty. He had 15 playing, us 12. We're up by two on the day. Inane done, Nugent Hopkins & Reilly Smith still with potential to chip in...

At the moment we are either; A ) Exceeding expectations? We're in a play off slot as we speak. B ) On par with expectation, if you are plan believer of Bennings? And Sutter is doing the job! And we have an heir apparent in Gaudette? We even have plan B options, notably shifting Miller to centre ice. Alternately call up McEwwen is 4C, shift Beagle up to 3rd line. I do not want to make a power move, costing us more futures at the moment. I have begrudgingly accepted the 1st and 3rd we paid for Miller. But I am not of the belief we are so good? We should be all in... Leave it as it stands!

Not going to lie? In the top ten at the moment; it is a better position than I thought we would be in. Key has been that Shattenkirk has resumed a normal role relative to his skills. And great goaltending, effectively two starters in John Gibson & Mackenzie Blackwood. A few other players have added some depth. Janmark is playing better. We have a few points from signee's Joakim Nygaard & Jacub Lilja. And wowsers, some points from Michael Dal Colle? Who has been with our team since before I was GM. We have a backup, Tristan Jarry, in our minors, but backing up in real life. So we will entertain offers on Gibson or Blackwood. Expect to pay what would be required for either. Blackwood & Gibson are two of the top 3 young goalies in the world at the moment. Asking formula a good young player, prospect & draft pick. Or more premium single or two piece payment to secure yourself a starting goalie! We are still young, and not flush with cap space. So not entertaining any single veteran offers. Long term assets only! Nor will we jump unless someone meets the required price. We will, however, jump as fast as someone puts a legitimate and exciting offer on the table. Giddyup!

Hmmmm... So a few weeks in? We're pretty much where we expected to be. About 15 points out of the play off race. We'd like to be in the race? Golatending, Corey Crawford does not really have the net, is what is standing between us and a play off spot. Here is the thing? We have a likely goaltender of the future, Igor Shestyorkin, in the minors. A second candidate, actually a year younger, Alexander Georgiev, performing well for us & in real life NHL as our backup. So we may be loathe to boost ourselves by trading up our goalie situation? We expect Tyler Benson to get a call up, Sam Gagner & the return of injured rookie Joakim Nygaard, to maybe get us a little closer to the race. For the moment we are going to back our team to get better from within. By next year, a lot of rookies will start arriving. And we will be where we want to be! But we will explore low cost depth players if anyone wants to talk business?
