  1. WTF is spelt? Sounds like a sardine or something...., with pancakes?
  2. 70% of the time, at least one D is injured. I have Tryamkin as 7th D man. But it does not mean he would not play an important role! 2 years from now he replaces Edler. Next year, Tanev?
  3. Speaking of Rinne? Igor Shestyorkin, 0.953 save % last year in the KHL. Igor Shestyorkin, 0.952 save % this year in the AHL. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/195577/igor-shestyorkin
  4. As a Vancouver fan, pretty excited about Kole Lind's better start in Utica. On draft day I asked why is nobody picking Nic Hague? And I traded for him here in GML when we moved Rinne... I also told Mike to fly a kite when he came calling for Nic this summer... And Edmonton has two D on this list, even without Dahlin!
  5. Pierre Lebrun probably has it. What they need is future, Notably a better return than they sold up other players for. And considering their sh!thead owners disposition, in denial? It probably makes for a deadline deal. When it will be more obvious how badly they sulk. Career AHL'er Brad Hunt is running the 2knd PP, playing 15 minutes a night. And represents an upgrade on last years 5D. Its not just team speed that is an issue. Their top 4 is great, but their D depth horrible. And a top 4 will get injured again. Dubnyk is not rescuing them 0-5, 0.867 save percentahe and nearly 4.5 goals against per game?
  6. Petey, literally, hauled ass at least twice in OT. To backcheck a guy, get in position breakup what might have been breakaways. In both cases, we came away with the puck. I was very impressed!
  7. I don't really strike a direct correlation from McCann to Pearson. McCann is producing at a clip a little better than Baertschi was here. At the time we made the Gudbrandson / Pearson deal? Both were struggling. It was a bit numbing. I just shrugged when that one took place. Benning said he was clearing room to make moves in summer. I took him at his word on that one. Pearson probably had more potential to recover. He was the more accomplished player in the past. So far it looks good on all counts...
  8. With the benefit of hindsight? I would have kept McCann. But at the time I liked the deal. Gudbrandson was a former top 4 pick. Big, fast, a great athlete. Had been in the NHL already 4 years? I had hoped he would still develop some puck savvy. We were deeper at centre than on D. Where we were in desperate straights. Subban & Hutton were our best prospects. Bartkowski had been playing regular shifts to fill in the right side of our defence. Guddy looked fantastic to me.
  9. Edmonton Assign Martin Fehervary, no waivers required. Edmonton Recalls D Ian Cole from IR With thanks @canuck2xtreme @Mike Vanderhoek
  10. 2 full seasons have passed since he was performing at a top level, yes. Crap, 3? Yeesh. Maybe Dallas does / would want out...
  11. Asplund, my opinion, will play NHL games. Make it a career? Remains to be seen. He's 21, already on his 5th year as a pro. Plays the 2 way game coaches love, plays hard. Has improved each of those 5 years. Slick skills under the surface, can play bottom 6. I'd love it if he was a Canuck prospect. edit, wholly geez, start of his 6th pro year. 35 games in the SHL in 2014/14. And he's just 21 now, he was 16. Then 3 more full years in the SHL, last year in the AHL. By all reports a solid year.
  12. If I were Dallas, brooding, grumpy & all, I'm not trading Jamie Benn for a rental.
  13. Premature to call us buyers. Certainly for rentals anyway. I hope to all hell, we are not buyers. I did not like it, could take it with Miller. Who is at least a medium term asset with 4 years on his pact. 4 months and I would lose my sh!t!
  14. This. Somebody will be injured. Plus we can assign Gaudette, no waivers. Personally, even though I applauded when he was first signed? I, like many or most, wont be sad to see Eriksson waived & assigned Utica. Or loaned to the SHL for all I care.
  15. Costmar a 7th rounder having a KILLER start to the season. 5 goals and 10 points in ten junior games, the Super Elit. And extremely promising, cracked the line up to get 3 SHL games in as well. Great for an 18 year old 7th round pick!
  16. Juolevi? No. I don't believe in paying assets to rid problems. The money we are paying Eriksson already a dead loss. Worst case scenario? If he's going to be in the press box. Just ''loan'' him to a SHL team. We'll get a $1 mill exemption on the cap. About the same as what we would have achieved with a buy out last summer. A buy out next summer gets about a $1.33 mill cap benefit, but doubles the amount of time we wear it. Not worth it. Just send him to Sweden. Most likely scenario? Pay his $3 mill bonus next July 1. At which point he will be owed a total of $5 mill for the balance of his last two years. I imagine he might retire. But if not. He would have some attraction to cap floor teams. $6 mill per season in cap hit for $2.5 mill per year in real dollars. Of which we could further eat some, as much as $2 mill. Leaving $3 mill or $1.5mill per season for the ''buyer.'' But there is potential to free up $4 to $6 mill in cap. That's better than $1 mill sending him to Sweden. And saves $2mill or $3 mill in cash, still not chump change to recover. I don't imagine he will be with us next October in any case. Best case scenario? Someone thinks they can use him in their line up. And gives us a 4th, or depth prospect.
  17. Most of Edlers injuries are from shot blocking. If Benn and Tanev are playing key minutes? Maybe he survives... He is still killing penalties?
