He drew the suspension because it was a retaliatory play. And because he hurt the guy pretty good? Which was kind of unlucky considering the style of hit. Nowhere near as predatory as the Duncan Keith head hunting hit on Sedin last page. I do support suspensions for hits to the head. Even if not predatory. We want guys to be able to live past hockey. I still support the battle instinct Hoglander showed.

And move on to better subjects. We project to move up rankings this year to approximately 20th? That's our best guess. Which might see us in the play off's in the West, LOL. But what we really want to talk about. Edmonton is starting to see a noticeable swell in prospect depth. A wave that is starting to hit the GML main stage. After whiffing in 2016's 1st round, we actually have a ton of picks before, and after looking really good! Lets start with some of our 3rd round picks? Henrik Borgstrom is now solidified in Florida. Martin Fehervary playing games. Tyler Benson due soon? Igor Shestyorkin maybe a year away, but with massive upside? He was the KHL's top goalie 3 years running. Axel Jonsson Fjallby may become a solid depth player? Recent 3rd rounder Yegor Spiridinov is a point a game in the MHL, a lock on Russia's WJC team. That's a very good haul from 3rd round picks. We traded for Nick Hague. He is getting his feet wet, had a big AHL year last year. 1st round asset Lias Andersson now seems entrenched in the NHL. Looks like a 3rd liner, but will play on one of the leagues up & coming teams. Rasmus Dahlin, was our prize for whiffing on PLD. Is 60 points this year possible? Alex Turcotte, in our opinion, is a top line player lurking, 2knd line lock in the mold of productivity of Krejci? That's his potential anyway. And our 1st rounders. 4th round? Ivan Morozov is looking like a 1st round asset. Gustav Lindstrom is not far from being NHL ready. Albert Johansson is a hit or miss drafted real life 2knd round player. A high upside PMD who lit up the Super Elit last year. Has 2 points in 2 SHL games this year, will play his 2knd WJC this year, as will Morozov. Both could play 3 WJC's before they come over? And best kept secret Lucas Carlsson would already be playing games? If Chicago was not so deep in D prospects. He had 33 AHL points from the blue line as a 21 year old last year! The 2knd round was a death trap for us. Until recently? We landed top ten in world F prospect Grigori Denisenko last year. This year we also landed 1st rounder Nolan Foote. And Alex Romanov, the most productive young D in the KHL. As well as highly regarded 2 way D Matthew Robertson & another Russian skilled forward Ilya Nikolayev. Our main club improvement this season is incremental. But better times are coming!

OK, going to beat ourselves up, ONE last time for our 2016 draft feaux pas. It sure sulks seeing PLD in now his 3rd NHL year as a top line pivot. Worse, we doubled down and traded our consolation prize, Brett Howden, for holdout / wash out Julius Honka. Whom we cling to, not ready to cut our ties.

The one that knocked in the puck was at his knee's. The second tap. But yeah, I asked the same thing! What is the rule for whistling down an otherwise played with high stick? I think its above helmet.

Funny that. A conversation of Edmonton and top 10? But in any case, we have a free defensive slot. By all means;

In a story likely to be popular with @debluvscanucks Congratulations Natalie, who in a twist of still 100% truth, used to hang out at our house, on a new baby boy; https://www.msn.com/en-au/entertainment/celebrity/natalie-imbruglia-welcomes-baby-boy-max-valentine/ar-AAItUYN?ocid=spartanntp

Ville Heinola with his first goal! Watch this. It will be much the same with Ville.

Funny thing is? PP2 looked more dangerous at times than PP1. A lot actually. Maybe that means the personnel should move up. What we want is Petey and Brock off the wall. Loading up at the top of each circle for passes from the point, from across seam from each other. Or? Maybe send Pettersson down in Gretzky's alley instead of wingman. If Miller and Horvat are at either side of the slot, Boeser will be open. If teams guard Boeser, bring the sauce or just take it to the front. I am confident EP can beat guys 1 on 1, make passes.

Jake should be pretty good with Gaudette. Puck pressure, pace, use his size & speed defensively to compliment the Gaudette who fights in lanes for possession and space. Then counter attack with speed. Gets the puck up ice in rushes. But on a line that has a lot of possession in the offensive end. Jake gets it and shoots. From low % places. Does not handle or pass the puck very well. Or even jam the net for rebounds and tips. Jake has a lot more to give. In the meantime, that means we give up on the puck in the offensive end. Not great on any top scoring line. When there is no transition goal. Jakes main goal? Get a face off in the offensive end for our top line. Smother it & get off the ice!

Proposal: Detroit/Vancouver

Jake a cycle the puck player? His biggest weakness is that he does not control, or protect the puck in tight. No cycle game to speak of... -

On a lighter note. Anyone like great jazz ? Too classic...
