  1. I shoulda known better than to cheat a friend. I have guilty feelings not taking Rasmus last round.
  2. I personally don't see the need to sign a GM before his pact is up. Nor do I buy that he is under pressure, or handcuffed, if he's working without an extension for next year. Last related, but uncommon and still important conversation. Its still a bottom line driven business. Fans want the best long term team. The owner wants a plan that returns bums in seats, PPV and brand based revenue streams. Which is, likely, the real reason we ''bought'' players like Myers, Miller, Ferland. One round of play off's pays for all of them. A few extra seats and views in between is pure profit. Same reason we signed goalie Miller, and free agents in between. Which also means Jim listens to his owner. Hence talks of an extension...
  3. And here is the opposite view! Stand, or no stand? No communication does not suggest working on anything. A good player, and players agent? Will take a look at improvement area's. And be in constant communication with their programs. Lending to confidence the team can sign a player, who in good faith is trying to improve.
  4. They still need to simplify things. Starting with better than non existent communications? For better? Or worse... Chevy has been none to hold his leverage hammer. It appears some players are not that scared of it. Go about their business & know at some point they will be able to leave. AKA Trouba as an example. Good relations. And wanting to be on the team might be a better situation?
  5. No disrespect intended (at all), its actually part of a plan. But I could not help but have a kackle & a howl looking at @Jim Layhee's team. Milan Lucic, James Neal, Corey Perry, Dion Phaneuf... And still has $12 mill in cap space! (Plus 4 1st round picks...)
  6. Thanks PO! We would like to have added a little more high end fire power. But are well on our way with depth. Fortunate to pick up a Cpl players by trade, several by free agency. Similar depth got us in the play off 2 years (3 seasons) ago. We'll see how it goes this year? The West is finally improving.
  7. I believe @Scottish⑦Canuck Unril Noon EST 9 am PST (if my math is good) Then @Art Vandelay Until 1 PM EST 10 AM PST Then @Jaku Until 2 PM EST 11 AM PST Then @maroe Until 3 PM EST Noon PST Then the good guys till 6 AM Australian Time Zone and being made from outer space....
  8. Now that we have 20 players, can we take any position, or is there a max for any one position?
  9. Meanwhile? Too many GM's waiting for someone to rebuild their team for them. LOL. Waiting to get free first round picks to take on PK Subban. Or William Nylander?? Like beggers at a banquet. Lining up the last few pages. It is a bit embarrassing. I voted not to rescue GM's over the cap. But I also believe some lower tier GM's need a love tap. New but related topic. Super impressed with some of the new GM's. Haven't made a deal with them yet. But have had good offers. And some attempts to low jack me. But they are working.
  10. Hands touching hands,. Reaching out... Good times, never seemed so good!
  11. We had this conversation yesterday. Eastern Time
  12. It is past 3 PM, does that make it our turn? @Master Mind
  13. One cat for your heart Alf. Two cats for @debluvscanucks. Cats are such a relief when your down, (perhaps you can have Alf's, so lets call it hugs). 3 Hugs, that's better, for @redhdlois Four hugs for Duke & Laurie, Brock his brothers and sisters.
  14. That goalie is lucky he didn't hit him in the mask on the way thru. Gawd he looks big and strong.
  15. To anyone who has been here 2 or 4 years? Its safe to say Boston was among the WORST at dealing with its cap. We made cap every year, and had good but not great teams. All the players we gave away. Even worse, those we paid to give away. Kept us from next steps. We would like to think this year, we are starting to have learned from the actual good GM's. Did our hard yards. Started making better and harder decisions. F*&^CK anyone else who still has to... I did not vote to rescue anyone. Get on the phone. Make deals. Eat cap to do it. Get a return on good players you would prefer to keep. Trade guys who are not core. We have done all of that. Waive players. Buy out the worst if you cannot do better.
  16. Still Toronto? They have one high end PMD now, but could still use the defensive end. If the cap could work... The Philly ship, they needed right D badly, sailed. They got Braun and Niskanen.
  17. By camp time? Maybe Girardi will sign near league minimum? Thats my next best guess...
  18. James Neal for Ristolainen? Oh wait... Lucic? Oh #%@!! Sam Bennett in player value would work. Not the cap. Risto = Too Rich. Maybe Smith & Bennett? Go Rittich only in goal? My guess is Frolik for a rental somewhat average vet. Where they get cap relief & a warm body.
  19. OK, another trade down, this one somewhat of a biggie! We'd like to wish John Gibson, and our GM counterparts, luck as a core player on Buffalo! Thanks @Sygvard @Sestito'sHandMadeVodka distillery. We welcome Nikolaj Ehlers to our team. With condolences to @Monty we don't think Winnipeg is a deep threat this year. Allthough that could change? We still see them as a near guaranteed play off team which we wanted. One that will resume being a top team soon? Too much young talent like Nik. We saw this as a chance to move a non play off piece, for one that is. A top 6 player in the Peg, a top line player on most other NHL teams is a good get, even if it cost us a possible Vezina goalie. But saves us $1.85 mill in cap. So we paid some extra picks to make sure a deal happened. Nothing is free. This trade leaves us $55K ($55,000 not $550,000) over the cap if we do some juggling. A little pissed with our capologist, that would be me, or we would have asked for $555K not $500K retained? But, alas, we're back at it and there is another similar trade again pending in the cue to resolve. Each trade we make has a formula; chip away at our cap situation & improve our play off roster. It leaves us by far our best play off roster to date. We're getting excited. And Gibson aside, we've kept our best young assets & prospects. Because we stockpiled, still have effectively more than a full set of draft picks, including two 1sts next year. Blach, and possibly the worst goaltending in the league? Please, please, please, anybody with a wicked play off goalie, feel free to be in touch!
  20. Hi C2X If we're catching up; can we please remove Andrej Sustr & Juuso Ikonen? I posted earlier in the thread asking to terminate their contracts > signed in Europe. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/44405/andrej-sustr KHL https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/45981/juuso-ikonen SHL I also signed , God help me, depth forward Sam Gagner, which can be confirmed with @Mike Vanderhoek Then if possible please arrange depth chart as follows if time please? This should be accurate to actual position & our perceived depth. Thanks as always! Henrik Borgstrom Alex Wennberg Patrick Kane Robbi Fabbri Frans Nielson Brendan Perlini Joakim Nygaad Oskar Sundkvist Marcus Foligno Jakob Lilja Lias Andersson Colton Sceviour Sam Gagner Rasmus Dahlin Matt Niskanen Oskar Klefbom Ian Cole Ben Harpur Colin Miller Derrick Pouliot Julius Honka Corey Crawford Alexander Georgiev West Coast Eagles; Tyler Benson Rasmus Asplund Grigori Denisenko, Ryan Kuffner Nick Paul Nicholas Halloran Justin Kirkland Curtis Lazar Deven Sideroff Axel J Fjallby Ivan Morozov Linus Olund Rookie To Be Signed Nicholas Hague Leave the LHD vacant please, so we can add the rookie once signed. (Martin Fehervary) Jesper Sellgren Lucas Carlsson Noel Hoefenmayer Ian McCoshen Filip Berglund Igor Shestyorkin Unsigned Propsects; Martin Fehervary, Gustav Lindstrom, Alexander Romanov, Matthew Robertson, Albert Johansson, Alex Turcotte, Nolan Foote, Ilya Nikolayev, Yegor Spiridinov
  21. Down to the buzzer, hard decision that was. Starting to take some risks. When in previous rounds, there were, more or less, obvious selections. Two & three picks ago, the five picks prior, and after we selected were all on my lists.
