In Niskannen & Braun, this reminds me of Gillis fine tuning our D with Hamhuis & Ehrohoff. Different styles, but net, effectively plugging a LONG STANDING vacant right side on Philly's D. I have picked on Philly year after year, for not resolving their RHD deficiencies. Boom, done in two weeks! Well done...
Man, this really looks good on Philly!
This is a great trade from a hocket standpoint. They paid a lot. If I was critical, I would pick on that. I suppose that is fine? They paid very little, maybe even disposed of a problem in Gudas, to get top pairing guy Niskannen. They also have a stacked prospect base. Had plenty of depth to invest a Cpl draft picks from strength!
Now adding a 2knd strong RHD to play 2knd pair in Braun. And have slow brewed but impressive rookie Phillip Myers to launch. Suddenly nicely insulated. With solid guys to play in front of, ultimately pass on the depth chart. They further have a lot of rookies to inject talent, into an already good forward line up, over the next 2 years. Plus AV!
Provorov / Sanheim - Niskannen
Sanheim / Provorov - Braun
Ghost - Myers
Hagg - Morin
Next moves, Florida July 1? That aside, Philly is the big riser in the East IMO.
