Nice bit of interference there? But yeah, solid as a rock! Kudo's to those, also, who prognosticated that Jake would be a good match with the Twins. I did not think he could cycle with them. Instead, he helps get their line moving up ice! Further, it is a nice reduced role for them. A few less minutes. But mentor Jake...

It very well may be a rough year or two! Nilsson displayed some pretty good goaltending the very next game after you posted this though?

I should have played the live one? Like Mony Mony, Billy Idol? It has developed a life of its own Live, every time its played... Dave Gleeson from the Screaming Jets on vocals with Doc Neeson very sick at that stage.

That's the way to go! I've been collecting now, cd's, since about '86? I've lost hundreds, if not 500? But still have about 15 or 1600. Mostly packed in boxes. And stored in my media center PC. Where I also have shares from more than a few of my friends. I have about 122 GIG, from 2400 acts, roughly 6000 cd's? I think Queen Freddie tops the list with 23 cd's? including various greatest hits versions. And another 10 by Freddie. I've shared the whole load woth friends & added to my own.

These guys are ok in the studio? Absolutely smash it live! And a pretty ordinary singer? But a guy who can work a room with his blues guitar almost as good as anyone I have seen? Makes for a great show. Ash Grunwald often gigs with ^ the Living End;

Think The Angels were discovered by ACDC? Played early gigs together. 2012? By memory ACDC came home to Perth. Had not played at home in 20 years. The town shut down, literally. Every bar and hotel were given license to have parking lot parties, the streets were closed. More tailgating than the Super Bowl. Concert was at 8PM, but by noon the street had tens of thousands of old Aussies wearing ACDC concert shirts that really did not fit anymore. And many of the younger ones got coaxed into flashing contests. Boobs were everywhere and the beer was flowing! By the time the concert hit, everybody was raucous. It was the best event I have ever been to... I also remember the contest for tickets. At 10am they went on sale. Every person in our office was madly clicking away at Ticket Tec's website. Swearing and abusing their computers cuz no one was having any luck. Then I got a text from my wife; ''Oh Yeah Baby, It's a Long Way To the Top If you Wanna Rock N' Roll!'' I let out a huge yelp! Only us and my friend Adrian got tickets. They sold the local AFL football stadium (70,000 for concerts) for 3 full shows in 12 minutes. Hottest ticket in Aussie history. I saw them again a year and a bit ago, before they packed it in. It was not the same.. I was also talking Freemantle a few minutes ago? At the end of the Highway to Hell (Canning Highway), sits a statue of Bon Scott. By the water. In Melbourne, its believed to be St Kilda Rd. They did actually ''make it'' in Melbourne, but are a Perth band, born and bred, save Bonn. The ''legitimate'' Highway to Hell is subject of great debate between the two cities, who each claim it as their own.

So we were talking Jimmy Barnes a few weeks ago? True story, I was in Sydney last week staying in Kings Cross. I made a point of having ''Breakfast at Sweethearts!'' Its actually a McDonalds now, but about 8 doors down their is a rooftop bar named after it. They close at 5 am, and do serve food before people leave in honour of Jimmy. And here is his / Cold Chisel's best song. (My opinion) We saw them at the surf town of Margaret River 5 years ago.

Awesome story! Maybe that's why their identity was a bit lost back home? They were lost on me anyway, for years, and years. They were massive in Oz, like Tragically Hip? Maybe bigger...

We have talked Streetheart before. Was my favorite growing up. Probably because I had my pickle burst first time ever by a girl playing this track. About the same time frame as I first heard the Angels. She told to ''Get it up, One more time!'' I didn't even know what she meant... Too much information, I know... My wife does not know why I still play these old records?
-
Here is another local band guys who like Streetheart, Harlequin, etc., era stuff should like. Almost as old. They played the Pub up the street just up from me the street a few months ago. With the Screaming Jets, but this is better.

When I was in year 9, in his basement in the Peg my friend Collin tried to to teach me to play this one on his guitar. I never did get it? 30 years later I was walking down the street in the port of Freemantle. A trendy, grungy sorta area in Perth West Australia where I just moved. And I heard this song drifting out of an old used record store from the pub. I flipped out cuz it was lost on me. 45 minutes later I had a full collection of their cd's. They got crank! Highly recommended...

Required record in every 70's household...

This is a bit better..

It must be because I'm a child of the 70's / 80's?

How about some Classic Aussie Rock? It is a bit lighter than my normal taste. But sooooooo good...

This was an excellent post James. Lots of good discussion points! Critical issue; was he ready for the AHL? Return to health from mono inclusive... Even if he was. Would the staff in Utica be prepared to get him into a Top 6 role. When fundamentally he will not have been able to have participated in any degree at their training camp? If there was doubt as to him playing top 6 AHL minutes > there is too many other positives about being back home. Although I take on board R Zepp's suggestion it may / probably would have been better to amp up Dahlen for the competitive way hockey is played here. And him going home is a sign, probably the mono, that he is not quite there?
-
Fair point. But they also signed MDZ who will get some of the PP time. And from what I have read, both the first and second unit will have a 4 forward config. I still see him being seasoned versus thrown right into the fire. I like him. Have him in two keeper pools. But project 35 as top end for this year. Hope to be wrong...
-
Thanks for the reply. We're all, of course, cheering for him. Hoping, on a slightly different note, that he was not set back too badly by his mono. Sounds like he is still seeing Doctor's.

Lets start with 30, 35?

Curious for @Rob_Zepp's opinion?

Call me a donkey > I like this move. Stay closer to home while you are developing. Get a chance to earn a better pay check.. That goes a long way with other Euro's, in terms of a reputation reflecting this organization treats its players well! It is also a speed and skill game. We want him to learn those things, right?

And this afternoon (its Sunday already) I'm off to the Yarra Valley to see Sir Elton, so pumped! This is my fave Elton tune.

Me too. I'll post it once out. Few fans more than my wife. I had only known her a year or two when he passed. She was in middle school at Balcatta High in Perth when they were graduating. She went into her room for several days. I was turned on to INXS as a 17 year old working at Kellys Music. On Portage Ave in Winnipeg, when Kick came out. Here what turmed me on to them. And a joint effort with perhaps the most popular landlocked in Oz singer of the last 30 years; I saw him just yesterday, thankfully alive & well, Jimmy Barnes.
