99% is relative. If you were 70? Had a heart attack at 64. Paid taxes since you were 18. And are much more likely to pass away than someone 21. Your right to live until you become 85 is being severely compromised by others; if they do not believe in restrictions, masks, vaccines. The early results of Covid, see France, Spain & Italy. Is that as much as 5 & 10% of people were dying. Until borders were shut down, people were isolated from risk. Extra ventilators & hospital beds were attributed. Mask manufacturing boosted 30 fold. 1% is roughly the risk to the overall population when a higher % are vaccinated, have some protection and items like isolation, reduced crowds also mitigating risk. There was a major boost in both death rate & spread when Delta came out. Reduction in death rate when vaccination rates became high. Increase in transmissibility, decrease appears to be the case in death rate with Omicron. However, these things can & will change again. 99% has already changed constantly.

With no disrespect to those who support us (serve)! People vote in the govt. Otherwise we would just be led by warlords that seize control of military power, exaggerating the point. People are born in to, and earn citizenship in various ways. People do need to honor & operate within the decisions of elected parties, even when they disagree. Except where the decisions are illegal. Whereby we have courts to evaluate. Covid is somewhat unique in that some decisions infringe on rights but support the rights & safety of others in doing so. Again the courts, and elected law makers are in a position of trust to support what is most important.

Tanner Pearson Is the Most Criminally Underrated Canuck
Canuck Surfer replied to Rindiculous's topic in Canucks Talk
The biggest problem with Tanner Pearson is we chose he & Virtanen instead of Tyler Toffoli... Tanner himself is unspectacular, but fine! It was other things that did not end so well which are the real issue? -

[Rumour] Canucks trying to trade Halak

NYR have Kacko to re-sign. Zib going up $3 mill. Will probably have a less expensive backup than georgiev. Where there is a will, there is a way... -

[Proposal] Miller to NYR for Schneider package.
Canuck Surfer replied to aGENT's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
He's the type; but is he attractive enough? IMO the RHD to snag is Lundqvist. https://dobberprospects.com/player/nils-lundkvist/ Run & Gun baby! -
For @Ilunga

One reason he is having an off year? Others including Miller are getting the O'zone reps, and PP minutes EP used to receive. Yes he has to earn it. Yes Miller 1st picked up the responsibility when Petey was injured. But the drop off would not be that bad if Miller left. EP is more than capable to resume!

Minnesota recall RW Jonas Rondjberg @Nail thanks as always!

Miller best year before coming to the Canucks was 2017 > 56 points in 82 games at twenty four. Pettersson had 66 points in 68 games at age 21. The potential is clearly there. Not to diminish what JT is doing. He is making EP earn it. Miller was also learning lessons at EP's current age, had 43 points in the NHL. The point being with him taking a bigger role, has meant that Petey can be taught lessons to make him a better player, the team a better team. Learn to compete, battle, win draws as u mention. But I dont have much doubt he could resume the productivity. We also have Horvat, a well better than average 2C. We would be fine after a step back, when he first leaves. One step back, two steps forward; assets and cap space!

I don't disagree? Not wholeheartedly. I definitely agree a team full of heart and soul players (Garland counts) on good contracts? Is better than overpaid stars. My real thoughts are Boeser is a top 20 RW in this league. I feel he may sign a long term deal for less than his QC. Because that is currently fair. 36 mill guaranteed on 6 x 6 is also attractive because he could sign a QC, and blow out a knee. Losing close to $30 mill is a factor if a good deal is in front of him? Its fair, and he wants to be here which makes it a possibility worth exploring. Not sure I want to go 8 years?

Letting Erhoff walk was also the correct move. Even better may be to get some value now, while the value is high... And yes, while we are not likely to win a cup with him this year. As much as everything looks rosy on a 10 game point streak. FTR I prefer selling Miller to Boeser. In 5 years he will just be passed Millers current age.

[PGT] Vancouver Canucks at Seattle Kraken | Jan. 01, 2022
Canuck Surfer replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Canucks Talk
Probably need 58 or 60 points more = 95 points over 82 games? There are 48 games left. Four teams ahead of us for the last spot. The way I look at it we need to outplay two of those teams, have two fall on to hard times. Its very doable. 58 Points is 0.600 for the remainder, we just crushed that. If Demko can keep even close to his current play, the real barometer (?); it is very possible! -
