  1. you get to protect 7 forwards, 3 D and 1 goalie, so 11 in total
  2. Yeah Salo was out for the first half of the season and came back in January/February. The day Salo was activated, Edler was placed on LTIR and returned for game 1 of the playoffs (much like Kucherov this year).
  3. Yeah it's league minimum plus 375K (so 1.125 million right now) that is taken off a player's cap hit when they're sent to the minors. If their cap hit is lower than 1.125 million, it all comes off.
  4. They do have a bunch of cap, but it's coming from good, useful players expiring. Their #2 and 3 D (in ice time), their 3rd best forward, and their starting goalie are all UFAs. It takes a lot of cap to re-sign or replace those players.
  5. No, he's not worth that. He's a good defensive player who will give you 40 to 50+ points. Good on face offs too. He might get 4 million on the open market but not Miller money. Maybe if the cap was rising like normal he could get 5 from a desperate team.
  6. Yeah, 2 more seasons of $5.75 million sitting in the press box in James Neal hurts, and 2 more years of retained salary on Lucic, and 2 more years of the Seketa buy out.
  7. Yikes, that's way too much for Danualt: the guy had 5 goals this year.
  8. Wish we had a few more dollars to spend on a quality 3C. A guy who is more of a 2nd/3rd line tweener. Someone who can centre the 2nd PP unit and give strong two-way play at 5 on 5. Wennberg, Haula, Danault, etc
  9. Honestly, if Klefbom makes a full recovery their D doesn't look that bad (their bottom 6 is a whole different story though). Adding Oscar Klefbom and Evan Bouchard next season is a big step forward. Although, both Larsson and Barrie are UFAs, if they leave, they'll just be treading water.
  10. Not sure if it's Tippett to blame for not trusting his 3rd D pair or the GM to blame for not giving Tippett a trustworthy 3rd pair. But you can't play a 120 minute hockey game without relying on the bottom of your line up to at least give your top guys a breather every few minutes. Josh Morrissy was the high-minute guy for the Jetts. He played 20 minutes less than Nurse.
  11. 62 minutes of ice for Nurse tonight. Dude probably doesn't have enough electrolites left in his brain to properly fire his speech centre. He seriously needs IV fluids.
  12. Wheeler, Shieffle, and Connor are a combined 14 years older than Horvat, Boeser, and Pettersson. They struggled for a while before breaking into being a consistent play-off team
  13. So the deal in the poll is Leafs win the cup in 2021 and Canucks win in 2022? I take that deal 10 times out of 10. In any circumstance that does not involve a guaranteed cup for the Canucks: screw the Leafs. I'm cheering for Montreal right now.
  14. I think part of it is people being conditioned for disappointment: There have been a lot of rough years for Canucks fans. Continually being disappointed makes some people expect disappointment and that is the lense they view the team though. I don't share that view (personally, it is not a fun way for me to enjoy the team), but I understand it.
  15. Could move Petey to RW with Horvat and Hoglander, then have Reinhart center Miller and Pearson or Podz. Anyways, I'd probably rather just keep Boeser.
  16. I know the cupboards were pretty bare when JB got here, but they weren't totally empty. Horvat was here before he started.
  17. 'Bruh' is often used to exclaim negative surprise. For example: If kid 1 drops kid 2's birthday cake on the ground while carrying it to the dinner table, kid 2 would exclaim "Bruh" to say "did you really just do that?!"
  18. Sutter is inelligible for bonuses. Only ELCs and 35+ contracts can have performance bonuses.
  19. If Sutter wants 1 year at 1.5 mil or less, I'd take him back in an instant. We still need PKers and guys who can win faceoffs
  20. Brock Boeser was real good. A bit streaky but he scored at a 34 goal, 73 point pace (over 82) and is a decent two way player now. And he was healthy for a full season, which is always nice to see.
  21. I'm not just throwing names against the wall. It was reported that it was Pearson last night. https://twitter.com/DhaliwalSports/status/1394836220253937666?s=20
  22. Pearson had a family issue come up and asked if he could go home. The team said yes. That's all there is to this
