  1. How was Quinn able to be in university in his draft year? Did he skip a grade? Finish High School early?
  2. Wanted to go back to school, wanted to control where I lived. Also, there isn't a lot of job satisfaction when we're not at war. All you do is train to do your job, not do your job. So I got an administrative position, to have regular work flow and things to do. I was doing finance and found out I liked it, decided to take my career in that direction.
  3. The trucking fleet was replaced a few years ago, between 08' and 12' or something like that? They were all replaced before I left anyways (16')
  4. Our military is among the best paid in the world, I was making $60+ thousand as a corporal with a high school diploma. Our Veterans and equipment purchases could use the money though.
  5. That's pretty common. Do those exercises religiously, work on your flexibility, foam roll your lower back, abductors, and hip flexors, It might not go away completely, but there is a good chance you can reduce the frequency of the pain flaring up by a factor of 4 or 5.
  6. He did some of the best "line walking" I've seen in a long time.
  7. Way to go, Sean. No need to apologize to us. I hope things work out for you man!
  8. Playing SCII again, just did by placements. First games in years and still placed Platinum. I haven't laddered regularly since you started with 6 wokers, not 12! On a quest back to Masters' League
  9. Hey man, good luck on the job search! I hope you find something full time soon. Everyone is going to have different needs and wants in how they show affection/love to their partner, none of them are wrong**, just matters of compatibility. If visiting her and bringing her lunch twice per week is a little to much for her, as longs as it doesn't bother you to stick to once a week or less, that's fine. She may feel it looks to her co-workers like she can't take care of herself, or doesn't like it looking like she can't go 9 hours without seeing her man. Whatever it is, it's not a wrong thing for her to feel and ask of you. And as long as what she is asking to do is something you're comfortable with, it's not a compatibly issue either. On the plus side, this sounds like a girl who is really into the relationship. When you've only been official for a month, it's way easier to just leave than it is to actually talk about an issue and try to resolve it. So if she is talking about the issues that's a good sign. If you're really into the relationship and want it to work too; say with the most up-beat tone possible. "okay, sorry about that, I didn't realize that bothered you." "is once a week okay?" Also you mentioned you liked taking care of her, tell her that! Ask if she would prefer that happened more when it was one on one, or outside of her work. I hope this helps man, I get where both of you are coming from. I love my fiance like crazy, but I have a kinda resourceful, stern, and fair image at work and it would feel weird to show her affection and eat lunch together in that setting. **(I say none, but of course there are some harmful people out there)
  10. That was draft combine weight, June 2017. Training camp weigh-in was 6'2" 176 lbs.
  11. I think that match up just isn't his best. He can run against Toews, Malkin, and Getzlaf pretty well, but Jonny and Monahan give him trouble.
  12. How great does it feel to see them pulled over though? Using the word "seen" improperly. example "I seen the Royals play". That is either "I've seen" or "I saw", "seen" can not be used immediately after "I"
  13. Shopping with a professional is the best. I am pretty hopeless by myself, so I'll go to a nice suit shop, get measured up, and they pick out the clothes. If I had the money, I'd just hire a personal shopper.
  14. Being asked "what's wrong?" when nothing is wrong. Sometimes I just don't have anything to say, I like being quiet, that doesn't mean something is wrong.
  15. Haha, I admit, I'm really into ships. I've had a few conversations with old retired sailers who are aghast that our Navy doesn't have destroyers in its plans. I've just gotten used to to telling people frigate doesn't mean what it did in the 70s, if ships this large and well armed were commissioned then, they would be called destroyers.
  16. It does, or did rather. Originally it was light vessel made for speed and maneuverability. In the 18th century that became more specific to mean a three masted, square sailed, vessel that has all on its guns on one deck. When steam came around, it kept the definition of "all guns on one deck" but got rid of the sails and masts of course. By the second world war, frigate was strictly a weight class. Meaning larger than a corvette and smaller than a destroyer, and it kept that definition for a few decades. I really just mean that the 1930s to 80s?(who knows when the definition ended) Definition of "smaller than a destroyer" is kind of meaningless. The term 'frigate' is just coming to mean multirole workhorse, when it has traditionally been used for smaller vessels.
  17. "Frigate" doesn't mean much any more, it's a 7000 tonne 150 meter long ship. That's somewhere between a WWII destroyer and Cruiser, and equal too most later 20th century destroyers. I'm not really sure why, but ships classed as frigates are getting much larger and more capable.
  18. I wouldn't call it the most advanced ship in the world. But it makes good use of new technologies and is a very capable warship. The Royal Navy's type 45 destroyer, however. Is probably the best air-defense ship in the world.
  19. The design and contract work recently completed for 15 multi-role frigates dubbed the "Canadian Surface Combatant" programme. They are expected to start construction in the early 2020s. It's based on the Royal Navy's type 26 ship. Though it's classified as a 'frigate', it'll be larger than any destoryer the RCN has ever operated at roughly 150 metres long and 6500 to 7000 tonnes.
  20. Yeah, that's certianly possible. The frames can fit a decent weapons suite, hopefully the fire control radar/sonor systems can fit on the vessels too.
  21. Kind of a waist of a good hull. They might as well be DFO vessels, nearly unarmed.
  22. Even MacIntyre was on the radio saying "everytime we (media) or scouts have put a ceiling on Bo Horvat, he's proven us wrong. He's made improvements every year since being drafted. He looks like a good second line centre, but I'm done calling that his ceiling, because every year he proves us wrong." (Paraphasing)
  23. Rules were different before the 2004/2005 lockout, but yes I do believe he could have been signed as a free agent. However by drafting him, the Canadiens' were able to secure exclusive rights to the player without using a contract.
  24. Man, that's a lot to ask. May I ask what country she is from and what her education level is? Immigrating to Canada isn't all that hard, we're not Iceland. I don't think I'd be able to do that. Maybe I'm old fashioned about marriage, but I would not get married unless I loved the person (in a romantic and companionship way) and intended to spend the rest of my life in that marriage.
