  1. That sucks dude, I think you made the right call. Hopefully she'll see it that way once she is a little more separated (time-wise) from the incident.
  2. Similar to my feelings on it, Jake is not a "wiff" or a "bust". I want more offense from a 6th OA pick, but Jake is still a useful NHL player. Very fast, good defensively, can make a hard hit, and occasionally makes a great drive to the net. Not to mention his contract is dirt cheap. Like you said, if Jake was picked 23rd overall (and Boeser 6th) no one would complain.
  3. Or an idle body. How much exercise are you getting?
  4. I'm on board with that, Pavel. I'd like to see him as the #1 dman in Utica for a few months. After our inevitable injuries or (hopefully) a MDZ trade at the deadline, he'll make the jump to the NHL and never look back.
  5. Last year's weigh in was 223lbs. Solid dude. Crazy how fast and ripped he is at that weight.
  6. I'd be happy with a D man, or a LWer, heck I don't care what position, just get an impact player
  7. He was 3rd in mean and 7th in peak power output on the wingate test. So he is pretty damn fit
  8. RH shot triggerman on the left circle/half wall (Boeser) and LH shot triggerman, who is also a great playmaker, on the right circle/halfwall. PKs can't overload one side, with Horvat, Baer, and Edler as the other 3 members of the unit. (how I understood it anyways)
  9. I think Pettersson, Hirscher, and Heiskanen might go top three (maybe not exactly in that order) in a redraft.
  10. AHL = Always Hungry League. You have to write down what food you want post game on a slip of paper and put money in a cup for the trainer to go out and buy it. You didn't bring cash? No food on the bus ride! Then in the NHL, there is poached Halibut and Fillet Mignon waiting on your chartered flight after the game.
  11. I'd probably tell him "haha, I'm not mashing my nucks on your 4th line face when we're up 5-1" too. I don't blame him for being reluctant.
  12. Bo is under contract for another 5 years https://www.capfriendly.com/players/bo-horvat
  13. A) I'd say we are in the clear for at least the next 3 years. Maybe longer, but that is when Pettersson and Hughes' ELCs will expire. B - Hard to say, I'd throw max term at Boeser this year/next summer and hope you can get him for >7 million. Edler and Del Zotto are both UFAs next summer, potentially 8 mil coming off the books. I'd hope Del Zotto is gone at the deadline and Edler can be re-signed for less, maybe a Gudbranson contract of 4mil x 3 years? Gagner, Nillsson, and a few others will be off the books and replaced (IMO) inhouse with cheaper ELCs, so I'd imagine we can still be around the 10 to 15 mil in cap space so we have room to work with Hughes and Pettersson. I'd be more incline to give guys like Joulevi and Demko bridge deals C) Maybe? We can do a decent job of filling out a lot of depth roster spots with ELCs. Eriksson is going to be biting us in the last couple years of his contract. We might have to give a rebuilding team a draft pick to take him off our hands. D) I think Pittsburgh has done a good job. They have their best players locked in at reasonable prices and are cycling youth though the line up to fill complementary (and some prominant - Guntzel) roles.
  14. Clearly he is referring to interest rates. It's still reasonably cheap to borrow money. Edit: Immediately after posting that I realized you probably knew that and were making a joke. My bad.
  15. He gave his account log-in information to Apollo
  16. Yeah, he's a pretty good 200 foot player. He has incredible awareness and iq in all zones, not just the offensive zone.
  17. Ethel Alcohol has 7 cal/gram. It's more calorie dense that sugar lol. Vodka/Gin in juice is MORE calories per unit volume than most beers.
  18. Yes he was: https://www.nhl.com/canucks/news/2015-development-camp-primer/c-773808 https://www.nhl.com/canucks/news/development-camp-roster/c-773809 I guess Boeser was there too, I don't remember seeing him.
  19. Yeah it was the year before that, summer 2015. Jake wasn't even 19 yet, we had just drafted Boeser and Demko, but I don't think they came. We hadn't signed Stecher yet.
  20. Yeah Virtanen is a thick dude. I met him when they had prospect's development camp in Shawnigan Lake a few years back. His wrists are about the same diameter as my elbows.
  21. He never made the playoffs in Medicine Hat. 18 AHL playoff games 0 points, 49 NHL playoff games 0 goals 6 assists.
  22. How about this one: Jake Virtanen had the same number of playoff goals last year as Jay Bouwmeester has had in his entire career. At all levels NHL, AHL, Junior.
