  1. Yes he was: https://www.nhl.com/canucks/news/2015-development-camp-primer/c-773808 https://www.nhl.com/canucks/news/development-camp-roster/c-773809 I guess Boeser was there too, I don't remember seeing him.
  2. Yeah it was the year before that, summer 2015. Jake wasn't even 19 yet, we had just drafted Boeser and Demko, but I don't think they came. We hadn't signed Stecher yet.
  3. Yeah Virtanen is a thick dude. I met him when they had prospect's development camp in Shawnigan Lake a few years back. His wrists are about the same diameter as my elbows.
  4. He never made the playoffs in Medicine Hat. 18 AHL playoff games 0 points, 49 NHL playoff games 0 goals 6 assists.
  5. How about this one: Jake Virtanen had the same number of playoff goals last year as Jay Bouwmeester has had in his entire career. At all levels NHL, AHL, Junior.
  6. I'd worry he'll want to test free agency next summer. Any price Montreal is going to be willing to accept will be more than we would want to pay for one year of Patches.
  7. I dislike all sweet beverages. Pop, juice, cider, slurpee, etc. my teeth instantly feel like they are wearing fuzzy sweaters
  8. Re-signed, 2 years 1.25mil per.
  9. I get what you're saying, but I would have been happy with 0.75 points per game in the SHL last year for him and he blew that out of the water. The kid has so much talent, he's probably capable of a 60 to 70 point rookie year (if he plays all 82).
  10. Why is Dick short for Richard? or Bill for William or Bob for Robert etc, etc
  11. They play against the top high school teams and occasionally against NCAA teams. The big advantage is the training they can offer; both on ice practices and off ice. It's a well funded programme with a lot of good coaches/trainers.
  12. I think most people were looking at a RH partner for Hughes. I'd imagine Edler would stay on the left side if he was paired with Hughes, how is Quinn on the right side?
  13. Wow, how did I not know this? Dude has been my favourite player for a decade.
  14. Pettersson is a Calder finalist, over 60 points. We finish with ~5 more points than last year. Julouvi plays more than 30 NHL games. Baertchi sets career highs in all offensive categories. Eriksson has his best season as a Canuck
  15. Yeah, I didn't think anything of it when he selected that number.
  16. Didn't Jeff Tambellini wear number 10 in Vancouver too?
  17. My best Vancouver sports media impression (except you, Dhaliwal): "Hughes remains highest drafted unsigned defenceman, cause for concern?"
  18. Ahh, those were meant as two different statements, I am very familiar with Beleskey, but not with their young prospects. I mention Beleskey specificly because he is on a one-way NHL deal and listed on the Ranger's roster, but will likely not be there by the end of training camp. (If his last two seasons of play are any indicator). Now that you mention it, I do know a little about Lias Andersson, he probably has a good shot.
  19. IMO Crosby and Ovechkin are the only two generational players in the league. Not Tavares, not Karlsson, not Malkin, not Kopitar. I guess McDavid is making a case for himself now too.
  20. Could probably beat out Matt Beleskey for a spot? I'll admit I don't know too much about their young guys pushing to make the team for the first time.
  21. Yeah, I thought so too? Maybe it was just prospect development camp that he was skipping?
  22. There are a few teams (NYR for example) with less than 12 forwards currently on the roster, and I think he'd be an upgrade on most teams' 13th forward. Granted, a lot can change between now and the end of preseason but I'd think Granlund would get claimed on waivers.
  23. Lol, I'll take the bait. Not sure what it is, but he does look more physically mature here. In a lot of the other pictures and videos we've seen he looks like a kid, this picture is all man.
