  1. I wonder if the Kracken have any appitite to trade Larsson. If they decide to go full rebuild (well, build not rebuild. It is the first time) they might be interested in moving him for futures.
  2. I think you're right. I'd say Gibson stole the Ducks a single point, he kept the game close.
  3. Alberta hit over 1000 hospitalization earlier this fall. 81,000 delayed surgeries from closing ORs to make temporary additional ICU beds. Alberta is currently sitting at 4,431 active cases with 344 in hospital compared to BC with 3,878 active cases and 184 in hospital (BC has a larger population too). So no, Alberta is not doing better than BC. Edit: As an aside, for some reason I always thought the 'AB' in your name meant Abbotsford haha.
  4. 16 to negative 2 for Vancouver. Yes, Arizona is that bad. Loui Player Name with an own goal for the winner. Let's say it gets credited to Myers just for fun
  5. The problem is the transmissibility is so significantly higher. Though fatality rate is an important metric when discussing a virus's severity, when we're talking about public health measures, total numbers are equally important (it's total numbers not rates that strain the healthcare system). When comparing prior years (2015-2019) influenza numbers to 2020 and 2021 Covid numbers it's important to remember that influenza was completely unmitigated by public health restrictions (at risk people and their care providers were often vaccinated for it though). While Covid had huge swaths of restrictions to limit spread and it still had a substantially more damaging impact on health care availability. Take a look as the previous year's flu season: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/publications/diseases-conditions/fluwatch/2020-2021/weeks-30-34-july-25-august-28-2021.html From the end of August 2020 to the end of August 2021 there were a grand total of 69 lab confirmed influenza cases in Canada. Despite double the number of tests being performed, compared to the 5 year average. The 5 year average for lab confirmed cases of influenza is 52,169. The anti-Covid measures nearly completely eradicated influenza in Canada, but we still ended up with a million+ Covid cases over that period. So yes, 0.5% isn't that much higher than 0.2%. But 0.5% of 1 million is a lot more than 0.2% of 69.
  6. Oilers already did regress, they lost 6 straight (before beating the Jackets last night).
  7. Eventually, he could. But only after ~5 seasons of being called Jannik "stone hands" Hansen and shooting the puck directly into the goalies pads three times a night on the break away.
  8. While I agree with the first part; taking IV fuilds happens all the time and it isn't that big of a deal. I do think reporting it when it was fasle is a big deal. Quinn was asked directly and said "no, that didn't happen. I don't know where you got that from" (exact quote might be off, but words to that effect).
  9. It's like the Hart, it's a vote by the hockey journalists. EDIT: @IBatch got it right, it's a vote by GMs, not journalists
  10. Bit of a goaltending duel tonight, both Swayman and Demko were on. Glad the good guys came out on top! Undefeated with Bruce!
  11. That was brilliant. Good 5 on 5, won the special teams battle, and really shut it down at the end. Dickinson's best game as a Canuck
  12. Living in Edmonton now there's lots of good ribbing between myself and some local friends who are Oilers fans. The one (hockey) thing we can all bond over is "eff the Flames" would be a shame to lose that.
  13. Yes lol. I have a newborn and my brain isn't translating thoughts to text very well. There is a team option for 2022-2023
  14. His contract goes to the end of the 2022-2023 season, but if he is terminated early he only recieves the salary for up to the end of the 2021-2022 season. This is the last 'garunteed' year of salary for JB.
  15. the 4th line just needs Sutter, if he's ever back. Some combination of Sutter, Dickinson, and Highmore or Bailey would be decent
  16. 5-1 Canucks. Pettersson, Boeser (ppg), Myers, Motte, Horvat with the goals.
