My hopes for him are Higgins-like middle six production (averageing 40 points, might put up 25 goals and 50 points in a career year) while being a solid face-off guy and good defensively. Ideal for a 3rd line centre that can do spot duty in the top 6 when required.
To be fair to Plum, he did first compare Horvat to Jarret Stoll (who has a career best of 22 goals and 68 points in one season, along with multiple 40+ point seasons). If Horvat tops out as a ~65 point two way centre we all should be rather pleased.
Two Questions here:
1) Why were there 35 second round picks in the 2004 Draft?
2) What is the average commision (%) an agent earns on a player's contract?
Nevermind my ramblings. I now see what you mean, at 8 D he has a chance to drop 3 rankings. So they are in fact saying he is unlikely to be a 2nd line forward.
According to HF's number ranking system, 8 is a first line forward, a #2 d man, or a starting goaltender, 7 is a second line forward, a # 3-4 d man, or a journeyman goldtender.
Sorry, I should have added more to my post. I agree with you in saying Ehlers is a dynamic, not one dimensional, offensive player. I disagree with you in saying "basing our opinions on scouting reports removes our credibility when speak about a player's abilities". (paraphrasing)
After hearing his name and watching a little video, i figured we realistically would have a Hal Gill-like NHLer in him. But after seeing (and hearing) that his skating is already miles better that Gill's ever was I am very interested in this guy.
If you watch the gif on the Calgary forum, you can see that Nino's shoulder hits the chin strap/earpiece of Burrows' helmet first. This lifts and slightly rotates Burrows' Helmet before his head even moves. There has to be contact with the head for the Helmet to start moving on it's own.
@King Alberts
I get a kick out of your name being Alberts and your forum status is "Canucks Regular".
Edit: The quote function has been rather hit and miss lately, anyone else having that issue?
Both previous meetings required a shootout, with the Wild coming out on top on December 17th and February 28th. This is the third and final meeting between the two former division rivals this season.

Just win...
I realize our chances of making the post-season are very silm, but we will likely match up against the Blues in the 1st round and we are 3-0 against them this season.
Just looking for something positive!
I would say yes. Top 6 doesn't mean consistently score 50+ points. Just looked at 2010-2011 and 11-12 and there were 90, and 95 forwards to score 50 or more points. That's 3 per team, not 6.
